Love this diner style breakfast/brunch spot in St. Clair Shores. Great menu with lots of variety. The experienced servers keep this place running like a well oiled machine & the kitchen keeps up with demand. Even when there's a line, they plow through it with a smile & without making you feel rushed. I love the Oops Mistake omelette or bowl and the Super Hippie bowl, but there are so many great things to try....when I'm feeling super gluttonous, I splurge on the loaded stuffed french toast. Parking is tight here, so if you can ride share during peak breakfast hours, it's a good idea. Love the OG servers; Jenny, Heather, and Angie. They are the heart of this great little spot & keep people coming back for the smiles & delicious food

Fantastic old school diner! I loved everything about my experience at The Yolk. I visited last Saturday close to closing time. I imagine that it would've been much more crowded had I stopped earlier. I was seated and waited on right away. It was my first visit there so I carefully perused the menu. I found lots of tempting options, such as build-your-own omelets, pancakes and French toast, but I decided on items that were already curated. I ordered the fresh strawberry French toast, and a spinach, mushroom, Swiss cheese omelet. I added bacon inside instead of having strips of bacon. Both were equally delish and made me want more. The cook did his thing with both items. Also, they were plated cleanly and were appetizing to look at. I was impressed with the amount of fruit for my meal. It was enough to serve as a righteous meal on its own. The waitress was attentive and pleasant. I really appreciated the cup of iced tea to go. I remarked to the waitress that I hadn't been offered a drink to-go since I left the South.

Corned Beef omelet was chock full of tender Corned Beef. Delicious

Great spot for some fast, hot and delicious food. We were in a hurry for a flight and we were starving too. Despite the packed house we found a place at the bar and were quickly greeted. Our drinks (tea & OJ) arrived quickly and the nice gal took our order. For some reason my little brother got oatmeal. He raved about it, while I tried to eat a Corned beef stuffed omelet. My breakfast was large. An omelet with corned beef was interesting to me. It did not disappoint. It was really good. Just like the service. We were in and out in good time and didn't have to settle for a fast food breakfast. I thank he good folks at at The Yolk for that and If I ever get back here I will stop in again without hesitation. Do not let the absolutely packed parking lot fool you. These folks do food fast and good.

It wasn't bad, I just don't like that coneys now slap brunch on their names and then call themselves a brunch spot. When there is nothing that makes them a brunch spot the food was okay and the service was great. I was just disappointed because I expected actual brunch with alcohol etc. the ambiance is very small.

That sign, in the far distance, is why they think they've covered themselves and that it's okay they charge extra for eggs.

Food was good...came out very quickly. Service was also solid. The reason for the low rating is because I was not told about the extra egg charge when I ordered my entree. The response from the waitress: "that's why it's written on the sign, so you see it when you enter the restaurant." It's not the amount of the extra charge, but the principle of no one telling me. Where I was seated, there was a partial wall blocking my view and I did not think I had to look at the wall in the kitchen when I entered the establishment. This is something that should be told to everyone by the waitstaff or have something posted at every table. The photo is of where I was seated and where the sign is posted on the restaurant.

Staff was friendly, food was delightful!!! And I'm "picky" :) - so many good choices - definitely coming back.

I ordered a biscuits and gravy carry out and this is the BEST food I have had in a long time, eating breakfast. I ate half, but Wow, Great Food

Thought I would try this place for breakfast with my husband. The name/sign outside had recently changed. I ordered the Big House Breakfast. It was only $1 mire than the similar one but had 3 not 2 eggs and all the meats: ham, bacon, sausage. That's what sold me, all the meats, only because I can never decide which one I want...not that I could possibly eat that much. My husband was hoping for a warm cinnamon roll, but nothing like that on the menu. So he opted for the plain waffle, " classic waffle" $7 and a coffee. When the coffee came, the waitress apologized for no cream, but she could offer milk. How does a restaurant that serves breakfast not have cream to serve with coffee. After a few minutes, she served me my big breakfast, but apologized my rye toast wasn't ready. Several minutes later, she brought my husband's waffle. More time passes, and finally my rye toast arrived. I'm very perplexed at the order food was served and the time intervals between the food arriving. The waffle was underwhelming. Parts were soggy and it was overpriced. The Big House breakfast is huge! Definitely a good price for the quantity. Sadly, the ham slices were really thin, and very dry. The 2 pieces of bacon were crispy but cold. The 2 sausage links good. I ordered the hash browns well down...but they weren't. So, if your hungry for breakfast and aren't looking for great, I'd recommend the house big breakfast. Not certain if the waitstaff was new, and that's why they served things as they came up. No idea why rye toast would take the longest to be served.

Not a bad little place. The food was good and the menu has a lot of options. The service was polite and friendly, the restaurant was clean and well maintained.

Two French toast meals and an omelette with pancakes.

One of my favorite breakfast/brunch places. Lots of options. The food is always fresh and good. Big portions too. Good service and fairly quick service even when they are busy. Decent prices. What more can you ask for!

I ordered the biscuits and gravy and my mom got an omelette. To sum up, this place's food tasted like they didn't know seasonings exist.

Everything we tried was delicious. The pancakes were a standout for sure and were very fluffy. The service was great, clean atmosphere. I informed our server that this was our first time here and wasn't sure about what to get. She eagerly provided a rundown of the menu and some of her favorites. I truly appreciated her patience and attentiveness. I will definitely be back to try more items off the menu.

Lattes: The bonfire latte (special) had a strong espresso flavor, but it became sweeter as the marshmallows melted. I enjoyed this more than the lavender iced latte (special), though that ultimately came down to personal preference. Savory Breakfast Options: The triple triple omelette (regular menu item) is one of my favorite local omelettes, featuring three meats and three cheeses. The components of the sweet potato and pork belly hash (special) complimented each other nicely. It was served with house-made salsa verde and hot sauce. Sweet Breakfast Options: The campfire s'mores French toast (regular menu item) was rich and filling. The chicken and French toast (special) featured double-battered chicken tenders alongside Captain Crunch-encrusted challah French toast. Between the two, I preferred the chicken and French toast. The cinnamon swirl pancakes (regular menu item) are a classic dish here, and can be ordered as an entrée or a smaller side. Lunch Options: The birria tacos (special) were tasty, but a bit spicier than expected. Similarly, the Nashville hot chicken sandwich (special) definitely packed some heat. The chicken was sauced rather than coated in a dry rub. While I'm typically not a fan of chicken sandwiches that feature tenders instead of fillets, the size and quality of the tenders made this one work. The fries it came with had a fluffy interior and were lightly seasoned. Jagged Fork's variety and consistency over the years has kept me coming back. I often opt for the specials, but that's not a knock on the regular menu items. I'll be back to try more of the house favorites and new seasonal specials.
