We had the pleasure of hiring Jason and his team for two projects on our mid-century home in San Rafael. They upgraded our main service panel and did an incredible job of untangling the old rats' nest and neatly and carefully bringing in all of the wires to the new panel. There were some issues with the old wiring to correct, so it was not straightforward. They spent a lot of time making sure that everything looked neat and professional, and correctly labeled all of our circuits. Adam did an incredible job tidying up other cables near the panel and making sure that everything looked as professional as possible. Our style of home presented some unique challenges, so it was very reassuring to work with a team who was familiar with mid-century homes like Eichlers. Jason was able to develop a plan that met all of our needs and worked within the constraints of the home, which we really appreciated. The time that he spent planning ahead of the job paid off, as everything went very smoothly on the day of the panel upgrade so we had minimal power disruption. When we ran into a last minute scheduling issue because the city was no longer available on the inspection date, Jason was able to schedule us even sooner than planned to ensure that everything was ready for the inspector and PG&E the next day. We were so grateful and impressed that they were able to make everything work out on short notice. They did such a great job that we hired them again to install a Span subpanel in our garage. They were well trained and certified on the Span panel so they got it up and running smoothly. They did a beautiful job with the installation, with Adam focusing mostly on the panel and AJ laying 50 feet of conduit in a trench to get from the main service to the subpanel. It was a lot of work, but again the careful planning, knowledge, and expertise of the team helped everything go smoothly and very fast. We had multiple inspections through the course of this work and the feedback from the inspectors was all very positive. No need to make changes or corrections, they did everything right the first time. Every day the team showed up on time and did great work. Their pricing is competitive and they serve most of the bay area, so we have already recommended Anderholm Electric to friends and family. One great advantage to working with Jason is that he provides his estimate during the visit, so there is no need to wait around for several days as is common with other companies. I also like working with a smaller company so I knew exactly who would be coming to complete the work and the high quality of their references ahead of time. I have found larger companies to be hit or miss since you get a different person every time. Anderholm Electric does great work and we look forward to hiring them again for our next project. I worked with on a couple of jobs. I hired and paid him to do two jobs. Jason is not a qualified generator installer. He has no factory training. He has put so many gemerators in without a permit, that it's not even funny. I just came across another one last week that he did without a permit. I have turned him in before. I'm contacting the building department and the California State Contractor's License Board. CSLB requires contractors to follow the law. Doing electrical and plumbing work without a permit is a violation. The CSLB states if work has been done on your home without a permit and there is cost to make the correction, the contractor that did the work is responsible for the cost and the repair. Check and see if he pulled a permit on your job and take the appropriate action. read more

However, he continued to be disrespectful and accusatory towards me while on the job. When I wrote a truthful review on his behavior, he insisted I take it off as part of his services. Update to earlier review: Yesterday the second electrician I contacted after problems with Anderholm came to my home and identified within a half hour that power going on and off in various lights and outlets was due to a problem with the power box at the curb that brings power in, had corroded wires in that box, and promptly fixed it. Anderholm didn't thoroughly investigate the source of the problem, charged almost $600 to change outlets that didn't cause the problem, and then without looking or finding evidence, blamed wiring inside my house for the problem they didn't fix with excuse that it is manufactured home. Nor were they going to investigate further to find the problem, just left me high and dry. The irony here is that the problem wasn't even inside my house, but rather with the external power box coming from the curb. They may do excellent work for many customers as listed in many 5 star reviews here, but the public should be made aware, I believe, of this badly handled case, which they still profited from at the customer's expense. read more

Had a problem with the wiring in my well pump house. Another company came first, and tried to sell me on a huge project to re-do all the wiring on my well house and build protective boxes with wood, etc. Doing that would of wasted tons of money, for starters, and wouldn't of even fixed the problem. Anderholm sent a guy Dustin over--- experienced Journeyman electrician. HE was very friendly and easy to work with, and professional. He took his time to diagnosis the issue we were having and turns out hte other guys completely miscalled it. It was the wiring going from main circuit box underground to the wellhouse, not the wellhouse wiring itself. He worked late into the night, knowing we had two kids here and no water. Impressed how this guy gets things done in the dark, in the cold, with his headlamp! He did a great job, and I've put these guys in my file for referrals/future work. read more

We had a mystery dead outlet that we couldn't diagnose on our own (breaker was fine, not on a GFCI branch, no other issues we could find down the line, and replacement outlet didn't fix issue). We reached out to Anderholm Electric and the owner Jason was able to squeeze us in despite a full schedule. A friendly technician responded promptly and began to trace the line. They found the main problem (a bad connection on an unrelated outlet downstream) quickly and even fixed some sub par wiring they found along the way. I am super appreciative of contractors who take pride in their work and refuse to leave issues that weren't related to the main problem untouched even though those issues were the result of someone else's sloppy work. I'm am super happy overall. The price I paid was more than fair considering the fantastic service which given. Jason and team are unbelievable! I am replacing all of our appliances in the house and when the new range arrived we quickly noted that the old one was hard-wired and the range needed a 50amp plug added to it. We have been without a stove and oven for a long time. While talking to Jason on the phone, Jason put me on hold, called one of his guys in the field and reconnected with me to let me know that while they were booked on prescheduled appointments, he talked to one of his guys, Dustin, who said he'd be willing to drive from a job he had in Corte Madera to my house in Sonoma after his job was done. Dustin called me twice from his other job to let me know when he was going to be at my house, he even kept me up-to-date as he was driving over. Dustin had a long day, that day, he got to my house around 6pm and left at 9pm. We ran into some issues on the install but it was nothing Dustin couldn't handle. Dustin is the nicest guy, very calm and extremely competent. By the time he left, I was throwing a pizza in the new oven! Thank you Jason and Dustin - you guys are definitely the best! read more

You have to pay for quality and service - And these guys ar expensive. They respond quickly, know what they are doing, explain this as they go along, and are well worth there rates. They have a one hour minimum but Jason gets a lot done in an hour. I strongly recommend them to safely repair your problems. read more

Jason and his team are fantastic. I contracted with him to update my panel to 200amps and remove the existing stab loc breakers. Jason gave me an upfront estimate with variables depending on what the permit process would allow. The only reason that we had any delays was because of the recent fires and linemen having to cancel, which was because of the fires as well. Their work was clean and detailed. He even took the time to caulk and rework some wood trim elements to match the existing exteriors. That really solidified my opinion of his attention to detail. Jason takes pride in his work and is a genuinely fun guy to chat with. He was very patient with all my questions and explained all the choices and cable routes. I called on Jason Anderholm Electric to help me with a ceiling fan that was not functioning in my office building, and he sent out 2 angels to help me, Matt & Alex! They arrived on time and quickly assessed that the interior of the ceiling fan was destroyed because the board that received the remote signal had failed and leaked all over things (something they had never seen before). Since I'm a super busy professional and didn't have time to go shopping for a ceiling fan, they offered to go to Home Depot for me. They quickly returned with a great fan (I'm a design snob so I described wanting something "modern, not fussy" and they found the perfect one!) then installed it right away! Gotta give Jason 5 stars for sure! We got stuck halfway through hanging a heavy chandelier in our stairwell, and had to leave it hanging on it's safely wire while we frantically called a bunch of companies at 5:00pm on a Friday. Jason's receptionist promptly responded to our emergency call, and saved the day. He came by early the next morning - on his weekend time - and went about figuring out how to approach it best, high in a stairwell with very difficult attachment points that we could've NEVER gotten ourselves (lesson learned...). He's a friendly guy with a great attitude, and even modified the switches so that it could be controlled from both the top and bottom of the stairwell, by linking it to the switch for a nearby sconce. His price was fair and we plan on having him back to set up a Wi-Fi controlled switch, linking new security lights on our detached garage to a switch installed inside the house. read more
