We have lived in Anderson for three years and passed by this market many time. Such a pity.... so…read moremuch we have missed. This year we stopped and have enjoyed new fingerling potatoes, amazing green beans (2 bushels that were so very nice ... not stringy and they still had their 'snap!' We canned 43 quarts & had several family comfort dinners!). The peaches were just perfect - perfectly ripe & unbruised. Looking forward to seeing the apples come soon! I almost forgot to mention how impressed I am with Amy! So helpful and she was willing to fulfill my special orders!

Located in the…read moreparking lot across from Jack's Donuts, Saxony Market is smaller than the Farmer's Market in downtown Fishers, but it was a lot of unique offerings packed into the small area. That being said, I never felt cramped or claustrophobic, even when surrounded by all the booths and food trucks. There's picnic tables and a field to relax and enjoy a snack, and there's a playground behind the market for the kids to blow off some steam. Every step of your Farmers Market journey is accompanied by live music, performed by a very talented duo. Everyone manning the booths were extremely polite and welcoming, and I made sure to try every free sample I was offered! We got some strawberry bread (an Amish Friendship Bread with strawberry purée and vanilla pudding) from the Amish County Dairy, and I also sampled the blueberry milk. (I know, it sounds weird, but it was delicious!) We were tempted to buy some fresh produce, but unfortunately I went food shopping earlier today and I didn't need to buy any more fruit! The Fishers Parks Department was advertising upcoming events in our area (Monsoon Madness is Saturday, July 22!) and offering free ice cream sandwiches!!! That's right. ICE CREAM SANDWICHES. For FREE!! What could be better than that? I cannot wait to come back to the Saxony Market!

This particular market is tiny and has a very small offering. It'll take you ten mins to walk thru and see all the booths. There were only a couple of farmers with a small sampling of produce. Nothing incredibly inviting, honestly. We enjoyed some cotton candy, a Kona ice, and sampled some MLM products. There's a nice playground where the kiddos seem to be having a ball. I was disappointed in what I found, but will try again before it closes at the end of September.

A bit of a walk so not my favorite Farmer's Market. Oh, new Dr. Location for Community Hospital in Westfield. I tried a few samples. I think it was pet day as many vendors advertised their services. I even explored the restaurants in the neighborhood. Black Sheep said it was their first participation with two specials; I hope to try next visit. Oh, Tour de Jour has a location here. Share space with rental property. Seem like more food options than other sites. Maybe buy next time with more selection earlier. Surprised to see Que Rico with a food truck. I think the permanent restaurants interest me more. Great musicians. Two buildings with restrooms! More built-in play area for kids.

Kids enjoying in water fountains, adults eating snacks and pups enjoying with their humans. Just what i envision for a good happy day. Lots of small business owners with unique food and smash burgers and such for meals. Fresh produce, fruits and eggs. There's also a nice play area for kids. It was really…read moreaffordable too, I believe it was like $12 for all 6 of us and we each got to pick/cut our own sunflower to take home. The sunflower field is smaller but they have a specific section just for taking photos. Watch out for the bees - they love sunflowers too :) We also noticed that they had food trucks available during the summer sunflower field weekends as well. They have a small farmers market with a gift shop, produce, and lots of goodies. In the Fall, they have mums, pumpkins, and gourds available.

They serve breakfast and lunch, coffee/espresso drinks and ice tea. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Nice size free parking lot. The market has some local food and drink options available for purchase. The mercantile is set up with home decor, custom light fixtures and wood furniture, jewelry and more. Looking for a butcher shop near us without astronomical pricing. We understand the difference…read morebetween the butcher shops and large chain stores with quality and are open to paying some extra. With this we ended up at Smith Family Farms Market on Saturday and purchased 3 beef filets for grilling on Father's Day. The service was great and the people were very friendly and helpful. BUT, the best part was the steaks. These were by far the best steaks we had grilled in a long while. They melted in your mouth they were so tender. I braised them over high heat for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes on each side. Then grilled them for 8 minutes on each side. They were very thick and turned out beautiful with slight pink center (temperature was about 150° - 155°). As said they were so tender.. We've found a new go to. Our thanks to the people at Smiths for making our Father's Day meal special!!!

I usually like to look thins up before trying local business, especially family owned one's out. I am giving two dates because right now I do not recall which date my partner went in to give these folks a try. Since moving down here we have been looking for a new butcher to shop at as our business was with another local butcher where we lived, so we were could frequent the butcher over store products as 9 times out of 10 butches product is fresher and better depending where you go. So like stated we wanted to give this location a try for the first time. Due to my current health situation with esrd, we tend to not go My partnered had picked up some jerky, a pork shoulder, and Italian sausages. So overall the jerky was ok, and everyone makes their jerky different, but I personally did not care for it, in cased asked why, it was too tough than what I am use to from others. The Italian Sausages, I will say I loved, and will definitely get more if and when we stop in again. Now the reason for 3 stars, I based on both the Pork shoulder and how customer service was handled. I would have given an extra star, but issue was not handled appropriately. I understand this is family ran, I understand how a business is to be ran as I had one for several years, I have as well watched a butcher work their business up north where I am from. The way this location handled issues when my partner called in is not customer service like. I am unsure if regulars get better care than new customers is all I am going to say there. My partner phoned in and the following happen: "She informed about the pork shoulder, was told "we have never had that kind of issue here" Rather than I am sorry and own up to the issue as if we were making something up, we got that and a store credit. So the way the pork shoulder was packaged was as follows: Saran wrap like plastic, and then wrapped in the white like paper. When unwrapping it on Sat or Sunday as it was never frozen, it was suppose to be fresh, I asked what the foul smell was, it was the pork shoulder. I am unsure if the meat was just going bad and this is why this was pushed over the tenderloin we wanted or what the issue was. To owners and staff, we may give you a try again in the near future, and then I will update this review, but until then this is my honest review of our experience of our first time with you guys. I wish it had gone better.
