We then contacted Sorted Estates, and the experience was exceptional. Because we were working remotely, all coordination had to be done through photographs. We sent as many images as possible and explained that our goal was to have the floating home completely cleared. They provided an estimate based on that information and followed through exactly as promised. On the scheduled day, they arrived with two trucks and a five-person crew. By the end of the day, the home was entirely empty, with two full truckloads delivered to donation sites. Communication throughout the process was clear, responsive, and professional. I went inside and met this older gentleman (who seemed like he liked to drink a lot of alcohol for some reason) and he showed me around in the back. He said that the owner was not there very often, because he was always in different shows. When he is not there, the house was kept closed. I wanted so much to enter the house, but was pleased when I saw all the assortment they had in that very LONG back yard. The furniture and other items were quite dirty and dusty, but there were so many beautiful old things to see. Really old furniture with wonderful carvings and details, old wrought iron garden items, old paintings, etc. etc. I really liked going around the back yard and spent quite a bit of time there. I ended up choosing a gorgeous antique print in an equally beautiful antique carved frame. I was prepared to pay at least $50, because I was already totally in love with it, when the gentleman gave it to me for $10. I was not about to complain. They stated that they keep track of the time it takes them to do the work in man hours and we may even owe them more than the deposit after the sale is finished if the $4,000 did not cover their expenses. We were expecting a traditional two day in person sale but this company no longer does that in order to maximize profits. This may be a strategy that works for some, but not for us.

The staff was very nice and helpful. The pricing however was outrageous. I overheard them saying the next day everything will be half off. Attached a photo of one year old expired soup for $2. A 10-20 year old single bevel simple DeWalt Miter saw was $375, a brand new DeWalt sliding double bevel miter saw goes for even less right now. I'm not going to return the next day because my time is too valuable. It was a real treat to see the time capsule of the home we got to go through at least.
