As a Realtor with more than 36 years of experience, I've worked with many estate sale companies…read moreover the years, and to be honest, my experiences have often been less than impressive. Then I met Pete Banchieri from Alameda Estate Sales, and he completely changed my perspective. Pete took on one of the most challenging estate sales I've ever encountered. The home had been owned by the same family for more than 40 years, and it was filled with decades' worth of belongings. What impressed me most was Pete's incredible work ethic and attention to detail. He spent weeks carefully sorting valuables, donations, selling certain things online, arranging for appropriate items to be auctioned, and researching historical documents and collectibles, organizing the contents, and thoughtfully preparing everything for the sale. Because I had the opportunity to visit the property several times throughout the process, I was able to see firsthand the amount of work, care, and professionalism Pete and his team brought to the job. I was genuinely blown away by the transformation and the level of effort they invested. Pete and his crew did an outstanding job from start to finish. They exceeded every expectation and completely changed my previous apprehension about the estate sale industry. I highly recommend Pete and Alameda Estate Sales, and I will absolutely be using them for all of my future estate sale needs.

I went to the estate sale on Glen Dr in San Leandro last week. It would have given them a five star but as I was checking out, I noticed someone at the tables on the opposite side of me, looking at two loppers. I mentioned that I didn't notice the loppers earlier to the cashier (who was super sweet). She turned around to look at the loppers, then asked her colleague, who was stationed at the jewelry, if the loppers were on hold for someone. Instead of hearing what she was saying, he thought it was appropriate to get angry at the customer who was looking at them. He was so angry that he must have forgotten how to be a human, because basically just yelled at the customer, saying "No!" and huffed as he furiously waved to where I was standing, indicating that the customer should be on the side where I was standing. Did he think the customer couldn't speak English? Is that why he stopped using his words and just waved his hands? From a customers perspective, this was wildly off putting. Even my partner and his mom and the lady who checked me out were shocked.

Because the property was a floating home, holding an on-site estate sale was not possible, and with the pending sale we did not have time for a traditional liquidation process. We initially found an estate company that would have been ideal, but they ultimately determined that the job was beyond their scope. We then contacted Sorted Estates, and the experience was exceptional. Because we were working remotely, all coordination had to be done through photographs. We sent as many images as possible and explained that our goal was to have the floating home completely cleared. They provided an estimate based on that information and followed through exactly as promised. On the scheduled day, they arrived with two trucks and a five-person crew. By the end of the day, the home was entirely empty, with two full truckloads delivered to donation sites. Communication throughout the process was clear, responsive, and professional. Given the constraints and complexity of the situation, their performance was genuinely impressive.

Sometimes when you attend an estate sale there's not much you want to take home with you, but at this sale I wanted everything! They had a great selection of furniture, fine China, crystals, and a lot of vintage pieces from the 1930s-1960s. What I was most impressed by was their customer service. They had at least one employee working each room of the house that were available to answer any questions customers had. The checkout process was smooth and easy. They even offered the option to pay by PayPal which is a major plus if you're not carrying enough cash. If you need to sell everything in your home and don't want to go through the hassle yourself I highly recommend contacting this company! They will sell everything for you and even offer an abatement service for the items left over that you need to get rid of. They also offer to clean the entire house out so that it's ready to list for sale. Trust me you will be very satisfied with their service!

They communication was timely and very professional, the speed with which they cleaned our property was super impressive, they were cautious and thoughtful about setting aside items they thought I might find value in, and they were happy and quick to come back to finish a few tasks that we didn't clearly communicate about in the initial scope. Their quality of work and customer service are exceptional, and their fees more than reasonable. I strongly recommend Isaac at BAEL in the Campbell, Saratoga, Los Gatos area. Thank you Isaac!

I even started taking my friends and they enjoy going to them too. I appreciate that they take pictures of most of the items beforehand and post them, so we know what they have. They even supply little baskets when you first walk in so you can put your items in. I also like the fact that they have a hold area so you can put things down so you can continue shopping. They have a little bit of everything, from kitchen items, nicknacks, clothes, holiday items, outdoor items, tools, they have so much. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I do appreciate that they do give you a discount if you purchase a lot of items. They have really good quality things and sometimes they are pricey, but I do appreciate it when I ask if they can lower the price, sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. It is a hit and miss but most of the time it's a hit. They have the sales start Friday, Saturday and Sunday is usually 50% off. I totally recommend going to the estate sale, You do need to be patient because they only let so many people in the house, but it does run smoothly.

Family Treasures Estate Liquidators came the day after we called them and estimated the job put things in motion to get us started. My mother collected books, music, jewelry, and art from all over. Many things were fine art and fine treasures and many things were just things she found that amused her and gave her happiness. It was important for us to find new homes for these items, Stacy and her team came in priced everything fairly, contacted galleries for all of the fine art items and jewelry. Everything was handled with dignity and respect. And the Team was fabulous. I can highly recommend this business if you're in the same situation. My family believes it is a sound and good decision that you and your family can make as well.

My experience and review got a response from Lana. So here's an update:…read more Of course, her point of view is very different from mine and I hope you read her version of what happened as I'm the kind of person that feels you should hear both sides of every story. I would, however, like to point out the slightly amusing part of her response to my horrendous experience, as I feel that it will further prove my point. As I mentioned many times on the phone, in person and in my original yelp review, I had my Grandfather with me for my appointment. I repeat, Grandfather. In Lana's response, she refers to my father numerous times as she tells me that my experience isn't what happened. Since my father has been dead for over 20 years, it would have been impossible for him to be as involved as she claims. If he was this involved, perhaps she would do better in the field of being a medium... Because I'm sure I can think of a thousand things I'd like to ask my dead father... Who, according to Lana, was at the appointment. This lack of attention perfectly portrays the "hear what I want to hear" issues that I had various times throughout my appointment. In fact, being scolded and having Lana raise her voice to me would have been avoided, had she actually paid attention in the first place. Instead, I am being blamed for her misunderstanding. I took notes when on the phone with Lana. I have notes for every person I contact regarding the death of my aunt. I write exact times of calls made and I'm overly organized because this is such an important matter. What happened to me and my family was atrocious. But really, it's my word against her's. Well, her word against mine and my grandfather's. (who she drove to the brink of tears.) So you'll have to decide if she is someone you want to deal with. I just hope you take my experience in to consideration. I appreciate Lana's apology, even though it was more of an opportunity to tell me that I was wrong, rather than a genuine apology but I can, in no way, recommend her services. Especially to a grieving family... Unless they're really in to being yelled at, in a time of grief.
