Bags are decent size and the Ice cubes are huge! they have the option to save and bulk up! Cash only place, supposedly, but I saw the cards signs. They also offer dry ice, the only unfortunate experience was the fact the attendant seemed in a rush to leave since they close early. read more

I've been coming here for a very long time to get dry ice for camping trips and events. They have very reasonable prices and the gentleman behind the window was always helpful in helping me estimate how much I would need to last an entire trip or event. Just went to buy ice on Crenshaw and Jefferson, rang the bell and waited a whole 15 minutes while 3 guys load a truck and not one of them move to help me. Then when I go and ask for assistance the owner tells me to just wait, while he stands there watching the other 3 guys. I won't be back. I swear we been buying ice there for 20 plus years. Buy their ice from 7-11 and the last bag we purchased had small black particles on every cube. Looked it up online and learned it comes from unclean machinery. Advice was to throw it out and not use it. Waste of money. Thankfully I only bought the 7lbs bag this time and am only out $3. Unfortunately can't find company website to alert them and complain. Anderson Ice Company is a small little office right off Crenshaw & Jefferson, directly beside the gas station on the corner. There are big signs out front. The office door is directly to the right of the stairs leading up to another door. The office is a tiny room, and appears cluttered, but the overall appearance doesn't negate the fact that they have what you want, and they have it cheaper than everyone else :-) The man who operates the company is a pleasant guy. Ive been here 3 times to purchase dry ice (very reasonable @ $1/lb). Also, my 'go to' spot now for block ice when we go camping :-) It is only 4.50/large block, i think 20 lbs! It's mostly just a little door with a nice man inside a little room attached to a fence. He was very friendly and helpful. Dry ice is $1/pound. I would bring cash just because its more convenient. I needed 5 lbs, but i only had 3 dollars in bills on me. He was going to let me walk with the five pounds, but I went back to my car and looked around to find change and was able to wrangle up $2 more dollars in change. nice guy! Good place for dry ice. Very quick and efficient when I drove up just to get a few pounds for a pumpkin on Halloween. Quick service. Downsides that caused me to take down one star: 1- terrible at answering their phones. I had to call at least 5+ times over a two day period before finally reaching someone to answer a simple question. 2-cash only for purchases. Inexpensive ice, quick service and easy parking. Pull up on the side of the building and park free. Order at the window. Dry ice 1.25/lb regular ice cubes $7/20lb you can buy in smaller portions, definitely a better buy than any grocery store or smart and final. Only open short periods in the day so call and double check still open before you head over. read more
