What followed was a steady and heartbreaking decline due to what I believe was gross negligence and a lack of compassion from staff. Barbara was a vibrant, spunky woman who spoke her mind. But during her stay here, she became quiet, confused, and unable to finish her thoughts--nothing like the woman we knew. Repeated calls for help were ignored or significantly delayed. One day I waited 40 minutes after pressing the call button while nurses sat at the desk. I found her soaked through her bedding in the morning with no staff in sight. Her oxygen concentrator failed, and when I reported it to a nurse, I was told it "wasn't possible." Meanwhile, the emergency backup tank was also empty. Basic medical needs, like her Humira dose, were missed. I had to personally supply her medication because the staff failed to provide it in time. Eventually, her breathing became so labored I had to increase her oxygen myself while waiting for someone to take action. It wasn't until I pushed repeatedly that they finally agreed to order a chest X-ray. Throughout this, Barbara tried to express that something was wrong but couldn't communicate clearly--a heartbreaking shift from her usual self. During this time, I emphasized to staff that this was not her normal behavior. She was not passive or confused before entering this facility. And yet, no urgency was shown. Tragically, Barbara contracted Influenza A during her stay and passed away. She came to this facility for rehabilitation--to get better--not to be neglected. This place failed her. Failed us. And now we live with the consequences. I do not recommend trusting your loved ones to this facility.

Your loved one will be ignored. Never showered or helped getting out or into bed. Left alone for hours with no water. Yes your loved one can ring for assistance but they will NOT get it. I have witnessed this myself. We have spoke to the nursing staff and gotten no where. This place is a joke, it should be closed down. If you do not care or hate someone than this is your place. If you want what is best for someone run as far as possible from The Atlantes! Dogs at shelters get better treatment. The pictures of the place and the food, nothing I have seen since my mom has been there. I wish we could have a do over because this place is horrible.

I walked in the door three days ago with the big thing being learning to deal with having my chest sawed in half and then sewed shut (no metal staples anymore), a scar which will take up to eight weeks to heal and imposes huge limitations on use of your arms. I also walked in convinced that I was going to be really nice to everyone and make this a positive experience, which I'm persuaded enough already is true, so (AT LEAST) four stars.

In less than 48 hours my mother was taken, by ambulance, to the ER for shortness of breath. I stopped by one week later to give them an update to find her room cleaned out & her belongings boxed up! We never rec'd written notice or a phone call re: "bed hold", which I am only now familiar with. Now the staff & administration are lying trying to cover their tracks because they did not adhere to the state standards and requirements. The food, when delivered to her room, was ice cold, inedible. The evening aide turned the a/c, in her room, to 62 both nights. That was the care she got overnight. I do not recommend Cypress to care for your loved ones.

There was a young guy who came in every night before leaving who washed if I needed anything before he left for home. I can not say that there wasn't a person who wasn't caring and nice. I can only speak of my experience there and I was so thankful that they got me strong enough to go home. Also the family must stay involved with your care. At any nursing facility it's a must. Thanks to all who was involved of my care. The food was okay. If they had something that I didn't care for they offered me something else. This operation is really awful - My doctor's office faxed an order over to Beacon where the orders…read moreare supposed to go - I called a few days later and someone at the Beacon Central Line - where they receive all the PT fax orders - told me that the fax number I had given the doctor - the same number that the actual physical orthopedic office in Montgomery on Cornell Rd gave to me - was incorrect - that rep told me she had never heard of that number before and then gave me another number. So I had to contact my doctor office again and they faxed the order again - to both numbers just to be sure - a week later, Beacon central line told me again that they never received the orders, despite me having confirmations for the dates and times the orders were faxed. So here I am, the patient, playing the middle man between the Tri-Health Blue Ash Internal Medicine and Beacon Orthopedics just trying to get help for my back pain. Taking my business somewhere else. Beacon sucks.
