Spent some time calling around today for a new pest control service. I've been getting knocks on the door daily from various companies pitching their service. I had a flyer from Anderson and decided to add them to my list of calls. I had lots of questions about their service, scorpion prevention and discussed continuous improvements they have put in place to address customer feedback here on Yelp. I was impressed to learn they took customer feedback seriously and rectified what was once an issue for customers. It's not easy to transform a small family owned business into the technology age, yet they took action on the feedback, which I totally respect and value. Had a lovely call with owner who kindly answered all my questions. Gave me a very fair price quote and has arranged for a tech to come out tomorrow and ensure the outside is clear of any scorpions. I have 2 little dogs and cannot risk an entanglement. It's a pleasure giving my business to a local, family owned company that cares. This company appears to be good, but in practice they are deceitful. Don't do business with them. If you need to know why, keep reading. Last year in a sales rep from Anderson Pest Control knocked on our door. He was very pleasant and seemed trustworthy. I didn't like their price of $59 and he immediately dropped it by half. At the time, I didn't realize he was just restating the fact they they only do service every two months. I signed up for month to month service at $27.50 per month, not a year contract. After I signed, they altered the contract to say it was for a year. The sales rep and his supervisor set us up for an immediate appointment for the initial service. The initial service was excellent. They were very thorough. Hit all the hard to reach areas in the back yard, and serviced in the home as well. At that point, they were 100% at 5 stars. The first several months I would receive a phone call to let me know that I was scheduled for that day or the next. I had an easy opportunity to reschedule if needed. I discovered I was being billed $59 for each service, but service was every other month. I didn't complain, but I did feel deceived. 4 stars December of last year we moved to a different house in the same neighborhood. Reporting the move to my pest control company was not top of mind. Fortunately I received a phone call before their first service after the move. I told the rep that we had moved, but still would welcome a pest control service. He came to the new house and did an excellent service. Back up to 5 stars. Everything was downhill from there... The next service was a different rep. Instead of a phone call, he texted that he was on his way. I thought that would be fine, but he went to the old address. When he arrived at the old address, he didn't call or text, so I had no idea he went to the wrong location. When I received a bill for the service, I was surprised and gave the rep a 1 star on their internal rating system. I quickly received a phone call. The lady apologized for not changing the address and said she would send the same guy out, but to the correct address and promised to have him call instead of text, and urged me to remove my 1 star. The rep followed his same pattern and texted his ETA instead of calling. I was home and ready for him, but I had time to take a shower before he arrived. When I got out of the shower I saw that I missed a text from him even though it was still 15 before his ETA. Apparently he arrived early, and instead of calling or ringing the door bell, he did a 2 min fake service around the house and quickly left. I was able to see him on our security cameras. I got a follow up phone call from billing, and I explained the above situation, and that I refuse to pay for that service, and that they would need to send a different rep. She agreed that I didn't have to pay and promised to send a different rep, even though "everyone" always give the other guy 5 stars. After this interaction I would say my overall experience was 2 stars. The next rep they sent followed the rules. He called to schedule the appointment. He arrived on time and we made contact. He did a good service inside and outside the home. It took more than 2 min. I manually went onto their website to pay my $59 bill. We are back up to 3 stars. The next service they were back to their old ways. We were out of town, and they texted from the front door at the completion of the unannounced, unproven, visit. I did not pay for this service that was not agreed upon. They repeated their identical bad behavior for their next visit. I did not pay for the service that was not agreed upon. 2 stars. Suddenly my credit card received an unauthorized charge from Anderson Pest Control for $118 presumably for the two services that I did not agree to and did not pay. I disputed the charge with my credit card company since it was unauthorized for a service that was not agreed upon. A short time later, I finally received a phone call again from them to schedule the next service. I told them how I feel about their service and that I refuse to use their service any more. Then they sent rebuttal documentation to my credit card company that shows the invoices for the services that were not agreed upon, and claimed that I had a year contract. 1 star! I initially called them because I saw a dead rat in the area. They came out and inspected our home and took a peak in the attic, layed several bait boxes around as well as spray for bugs. I have happily been using their service ever since. I cannot express how happy I have been with their service. The technicians that come out are always professional and efficient. Just had the most shocking and unprofessional experience. I have used Anderson pest Control for many years now. They were wonderful for years because of an amazing employee Gloria. I had sent many of my customers and business associates to them. Today I was told that I had a pass due bill due. I recalled that a $240 charge came out in November from them which did not make any sense at all. Not even the amount because of the amount of our monthly contract. I immediately went and looked up our Bank account and found that they actually over charged me $40. Then Nate, the owner, said he would look at the transactions and put us on hold. But instead after a short hold said that he was firing Gloria because she was costing him money and that he was losing money with us. That we needed to part ways. We were shocked to hear him say this. He obviously did not see that the 50 a month added all up and that the 240 should not have been taken out. Nate did not offer to recheck or go over this with us but his only words were that he was firing Gloria. Its Christmas time. How can someone who can not admit they did something wrong state to me and my staff on a speaker phone that he is firing someone that we had spoke to for years? How did the blame get shifted to her. How does he treat a customer that he said himself was a very valued good customer and blamed Gloria for losing our business when he is the one that cost the loss of business by his own poor customer service in the way he treated us and his own employee. Talk about creepy. A young man came to our door, spray can in hand, didn't even identify himself, and asked me if I wanted our home sprayed. I told him no, that we already have another company that does our spraying. He got in his truck (which was parked right outside our home) and trolled the neighborhood for work. I got the name of his company off the side of the truck to write this review. I live in a 55+ community, where many residents are in their 70's & 80's, and are often targets of scams. I have heard from my neighbors that their price went up, which is fine, however they don't let you know about this until after the service is done and you see the increase on your statement. I give this 4 stars only due to lack of communication regarding price increase. I want to give negative stars. Very poor communication, the only communication from the company was invoices for payment. I've been paying since Nov '21 for quarterly services and have only had 1 visit. No calls, no emails. I shouldn't have to call and hunt down a technician for services. I requested another tech and was given a service date for today, 5/18/22, called in to make sure the appointment was for today, the phone attendant confirmed it was for today between 12pm and 5pm. I called back at 4pm a different phone tech informed us the appointment is not today but for May 26th. I am very disappointed and would not recommend this company at all. They always call and confirm the appointment with me a few days before hand and the technician arrives during the quoted time. I am charged a very good rate. Occasionally, I'll need a re-spray, and without hesitation or charge, they will come back. I will continue to use Anderson Pest Control because my time is important and they have only missed one appointment due to an error on their end. Just had my latest service from Anderson. Also will be my last. Pro: The bugs stay away when they do show up and spray... Con: They don't call ahead of their appointment time to coordinate. The technician slipped the bill in my door when he was done spraying, except I wasn't contacted ahead of time so I couldn't let him in to spray the back of the house or the inside. I'd consider that less than half a full job. They've also missed appointments without calling to let me know. When I called to complain and cancel they did offer for the technician to come back and respray but I shouldn't have to micromanage someone to get good, thorough service. read more

Ugh, so I caved in to the guy roaming around the neighborhood trying to sell pest control services. I wouldn't normally pay for a service like this but the Home Depot jug of bug spray just wasn't quite doing the trick. They try to tell you they're having a "Sale" blah blah blah sign up for a year of service blah blah blah, no thanks. I opted for the $100 single application, ouch, that was not cheap, but it does come with a 3 month guarantee and even after 3 months I don't think I've seen a single bug inside and there still aren't nearly as many outside as there used to be. They never call us before coming or give any kind of time frame for when they will be here like they're supposed to!!!!! This is a big problem as we are contracted to spray outside as well as inside. We have black widows all over our neighborhood and a toddler in the house, so to me, it's important to spray both outside and inside the house... Many phone calls without anyone picking up, and just sent an email, so hopefully they can fix this. The guy who shows up randomly to spray always seems nice, otherwise I would give one star. If they called and gave some kind of notice like they're supposed to, this would probably be a 4 star review. We pay $60 for a spray every other month with a 1 year contract, so the price is decent if we get the outdoor and indoor service we contracted for. Edited 11/17/2015 to add: So they finally called and gave us a few days notice!! ...but then they never showed up. When we called to ask what happened they said they forgot... I have been using Anderson Pest control for about 15 years now. I have never had a problem with any roaches or pests around my house since using them. I once got roof rats and they immediately came out and set traps in my attic and took care of the problem quickly. They also set traps around my home and every now and then I will find a dead rat. Gloria always calls and lets me know when they will be coming the next day and the person coming out will always text me when he is close to my house. We used Anderson for a few months and it was just not a good experience. They never really stuck to scheduled, and I'd often get calls while out around the city from their exterminator when he was coming to our home, requiring us to return across the valley if we wanted the inside sprayed. This was our first issue. Second issue, is the last time their exterminator came to our home, he used our bathroom for around 20 minutes, stinking up half the house for almost two hours. Disgusting. I'd never do this in a customers home. The straw the broke the camel's back, is they sent us to collections for not paying the bill last time from when their exterminator took a crap at my house. We wanted the bugs gone from chemicals, not stench. Overall unprofessional, would not recommend. read more

Two no shows and services provided were hit or miss caused me to have to cancel. What sealed the deal for me was the lady on the phone representing their agency, turned from nice and understanding to hang up in the ear rude. I've been using these guys close to a year now, and just had another service today, which is what prompted me to write this review. I've tried a good number of pest control services in the past, Orkin, Terminix, and even a small local company, and no one has come close to the results Anderson Pest Control has been able to maintain. They spray every two months, and I tell you, the amount of product they use outside the house is unreal. I'm used to seeing guys come in with a container or two and start spraying. These guys have a hose connected to their truck, and spray your whole yard down. And I'm told their chemicals are pet safe since I do have two dogs, and thus far have never had a problem. Then again, I've never had a problem with my dogs with past pest control people as well. But the reason I started using a pest control company again was because of my dogs. There was a really really bad black widow population growing in my backyard. Everyday I would go around picking up after my dogs, I would literally take down at least 4 or 5 cobwebs, and on occasion, actually kill the black widows if I could find them. But sure enough, the following day, more cobwebs would be up. So I didn't want to take any chances, and seeing I was never totally satisfied with pest control companies in the past, plus they were all charging more than before, I gave Anderson a try, and I'm very glad I did. The best price I could find, an unbelievable amount of product used to service your home, and the best results to date. What more can you ask for... Oh yeah, like the other reviewer, I tried the Home Depot products as well that were suppose to be good for a year, they didn't even work for more than a week. The bugs were back. It was such a mess up there and Anderson Pest Control did an incredible job with the cleaning of it and then securing a netting system to prevent future nesting and messes. Well since I spent last night in the ER for a scorpion sting I would say that this pest control company is obviously NOT working. Not to mention the truly truly awful customer service. We have dogs that we need to make arrangements for when they come to spray so all we ask of them is that they let us know when they're coming. They NEVER did, even after we repeatedly called them and yelled about this over and over again. They would charge my credit card for the month when they never even came out.
