To Anderson's Dinner since there was located on Pine, I guess something happened with no o ave the ceiling, but they moved over to over to Eisenhower Parkway about four or five months ago and it's really really nice so that is a smooth transaction. You know they have certain days but they have some things like lemonade and iced tea one night ribs and a lot of other soulful but they usually have three or four souls at a time and the rice is pretty good. I give them one star because the food tastes good. The restaurant should be torn down and burn the spot it was on and start over. Sorry, but it is just that nasty looking. They serve in To go containers so you know your plate is clean. The carpet looks nasty and the tables look dirty and the clear coating on them looks melted. They have fake flowers in small vases on the tables and there are dead bugs in them. The whole restaurant is empty except for people coming in to get to go orders and the staff. Couldn't sit at a window seat because they want you in the small area where they haven't cleaned off the tables. I got cold looks and stares from the servers as if they wanted me to leave. Not very friendly at all unless you are a regular or the right color. I'm mixed so I guess I'm to yellow. I grew up on soul food and German cooking due to my parents being biracial couple. The baked chicken definitely is delicious and falls off the bone and the pork chop was crispy and still juicy. The mashed potatoes with gravy were right on time and the collards were off the chain. Lol The bathrooms are for employees only so bring hand sanitizer and make sure you empty your bladder before you come. I don't usually leave bad reviews, but there are so many better choices for a meat and two sides type restaurant that I don't understand why people eat here. I went on a Sunday and the place had a long line of customers getting their food to go. The dining room appears to be closed. Every surface in the place was filthy and the floors behind the counter must be greasy, because I saw one server slip and almost fall. I will sometimes ignore these things if the food is good, but it was not. Macaroni and cheese was overcooked pasta with Velveeta type cheese, collards lacked flavor, and rutabagas were good, but had a lot of pork fat in them. The people working there were very nice and I hope the management works on giving the place a deep cleaning and then maintaining it for the folks who are regulars and seem to love the food. Anderson's Diner is a place that people usually go after church on Sunday's, If you do plan to go there on a Sunday after church, make sure you have a little patience because the line will be long but honestly it's totally worth it. So far its some of the best soul food I've had in the Macon Area. They treat you like family and you actually feel like family there. The menu includes items such as fried chicken, Mac & Cheese, Yams, Lima Beans and more. It's a place you have to try for yourself to understand. They also have the most delicious lemonade I've had in the area. Stopped by this place on a Saturday afternoon. I was recommended to try by a friend from Macon. I got the neck bones, collard greens, corn bread (pancake like), and the Lima beans. Overall, pretty good Lima beans was on point. Collard greens was a bit salty but still good. The neck bone tasted as expected, stewed to perfection. The cornbread was different and my favorite either,. I guess I like traditional cornbread. Though this place is looks a bit sketchy, it's worth a try. The sweat tea is good and not very distinct. I'm in the South after all, so I don't think sweat tea can be made wrong here. The place is not very busy, but has consistent customers flow. Mostly African American customers with a few Southern white folks here and there. This place is a must try for me. read more

I order a Chicken dinner with potato salad , macaroni cheese, butter beans and it was good. I did take my order home. When i have a family member over i can take them their. Been eating at Anderson's for years over multiple locations and have never been let down. Best "soul food/country cooking" in Macon in my opinion. I almost always get the fried pork-chops which are huge and juicy. The turkey legs are good as is the fried chicken. Collard greens and mac and cheese are amazing and I always find it hard to choose any other options other than those. The sweat tea and lemonade are both sugary and delicious. They have dessert options everyday too. The do not have any drink options other than the a fore mentioned tea, lemonade as well as water. read more
