    Pork chop
    Kelsi H.

We were passing through and came in on a Friday evening around 6:30. It was pretty busy but we (two people) were quickly seated. The biscuits they start you with were PERFECT! Warm, cheesy, savory. Yum! We got the winter harvest salad to split first and it was such a great combo of flavors. I ordered the pork chop and my husband got the shrimp and grits. His entire wasn't your typical bowl of grits with shrimp but it was delicious! Wish we had more grits honestly though. My pork chop was a little dry and needed a little more seasoning. But I loved the fried green tomato and Mac n cheese with it. Overall a good experience. Would be a great date night place or place to hang with some friends for a meal, but not really ideal for small kids. Great service!

We found this lovely, high end restaurant in an historic town square. We chose to enjoy the evening breeze on the front porch. Our server, Courtney was terrific. The food, amazing! We enjoyed chatting with the sous chef, Giordano...felt like we were friends by the end of the evening. Bravo!

Barramundi - Wow!!! Flaky, Light, Crispy on edges and well balanced flavor. What a hidden delightful surprise in Forsyth, GA ( kudos to kitchen for the Lemon sliced expertly for easy squeezing') Not to mention the Grits Fritters - Where have you been all my life ?

Yesterday was my first time actually eating at the Grits Cafe and I was immediately amazed at how amazing it looked inside. I had purchased the ranch burger but my family as a collective got three plates of their fried green tomatoes along with their separate orders. The service was incredible and responsive (we also went in when it wasn't as busy neither, so I think it was also a contributing factor). The ambiance was definitely a family friendly restaurant.

What an absolute little gem, a perfect lunch break for our long road trip, highly recommend! Luckily the weather held up so we were able to sit outside. The staff was more than thrilled to have us and our little four legged friend. We started with the grits fritters which were very tasty and for lunch I had the salmon BLT and my fiancé had the French dip. The waitress was so friendly and happily allowed us to try some of their soup of the day. She also told us we could substitute the fries for sweet potato fries, or a salad or a soup if we liked. (I went with the Caesar salad which was excellent and I loved how the croutons were also made of grits, how fun). My BLT was great too. The sandwich bread was excellent and I loved the remoulade sauce too. So many amazing options here, it was certainly hard to choose! Our waitress was so super nice, as was everyone working there. Pax was so happy too! He loved the pets from the hard working staff! Before we left, I walked inside to view the ambiance and I'm so bummed we don't live closer, the walls were open brick and aligned with beautiful artwork, I could sit here for hours with a book in my hand!

Grits never fails to please. The bone in pork chop is one of the best dishes in all of middle Georgia.

My wife got the steak burrito bowl and I got the fried pork burrito. For drinks we tried the horchata and picked up a slice of their Tres Leche cake. We also tried all of their sauces, queso, and salsa. The sauces weren't that great in my opinion and the salsa didn't have good flavor and was a little watered down. The queso was pretty good though and i recommend that to go with their chips. The steak in the bowl tasted decent and the whole bowl together was really good. It was presented in the to go container really well. We recommend trying this. The fried pork tasted really good in the burrito. It was a little sweet but also a little crunchy and I was addicted to it. The whole burrito was delicious, only downside was it got really greasy by the time we got home to eat. I still highly recommend this but have plenty of napkins lol. The horchata was top tier. You could taste the rice a bit and it was a little sweet, really well balanced flavors. The tres leches cake tasted a little generic. The cake itself was a little moist but not fully like it should be. Overall, we definitely want to go back and try other things they had on their menu and other proteins. I definitely recommend checking this place out if you are in town.

This is more of a 4.5 review but I really wanted to try to bring up their rating since I feel like…read morethe 2.5 is really low, especially after our experience here. We came on a Monday about 8:30 and were seated promptly. We drove out of our way to come since it was my sister's birthday and she was nostalgic about Shoney's and this was the closest one (about an hour away.) Our drinks came right out and we went to the breakfast bar. I was not expecting such a huge selection of food. At least 2 kinds of biscuits, multiple different gravies, breakfast casseroles, hashbrowns, grits, fried bologna, bacon, eggs, sausage patties, sausage links, pancakes, French toast, fried apples, strawberry shortcake, dirty rice, A SALAD BAR that included a fruit selection, fried potatoes, mushrooms, Philly steak, and MORE!!!! Now let's be honest...this is a BUFFET. Some of the food was fresher than others but I saw them replace numerous items during our visit. Nothing tasted off and some food was better than others, but overall, I believe this was a excellent deal for $15/per person. Sharon was our waitress and kept our drinks topped off and plates cleared away. She was a sweetheart and we really appreciated her friendliness. You could tell that the decor, furniture, etc was older but everything was clean and seemed to be in good repair. Even the bathrooms were fresh and clean. Overall, we were very happy with our visit and plan on returning when we're in the area.

My dad couldn't pass a Shoney's back in the day, I don't know if it was the value or the quality,…read morebut I haven't been to a Shoney's in decades so I thought I'd go down memory lane when the opportunity presented itself while staying overnight at the KOA in Forsyth. This one opens before sunrise and since I wanted to get back on the road early we thought we'd give them a try, it's easy and no mess in the RV, my fingers were crossed hoping it was how I remembered. We arrived about 7 AM and there were only a few customers in the restaurant browsing the breakfast buffet that was filled to the brim - honestly I thought it was a little overkill but as time passed this place looked like Walmart on Black Friday all looking for a bargain and indulgence. The staff here was on their game the kitchen was delivering pans of everything and refreshing whatever looked like it sat a little longer than it should - Wanda our wonderful server greeted us just as we were seated and dashed to get our drink orders while we took a tour of the foods on display. I'm pretty traditional when it comes to breakfast so I was looking for a mound of bacon, scrambled eggs and anything else that looked appetizing I'd consider a bonus. Honestly for $50 including gratitude for two I was a little disappointed with the quality it was a little too intuitional for me, a little bland even with a salt and pepper shaker on the table it just wasn't working. I would of been just as happy with a couple of drive-thru breakfast sandwiches for about one third of the price. I do applaud them for having a full salad bar filled with greens and fruit, nothing bad here just not my thing...
