We got there just as they were closing. They reopened the store and spent a good hour with my daughter and I (even put up with my overtired and cranky younger son who was all over the place). Buying a new pair of foot undies turned into foot undies, something to help my daughter with getting the perfect bun with her very curly hair AND sizing her for a new pair of flat toe shoes. Its power pink bubble gum for girls (lots of purple and pink) but its truly meant for dancers of all ages and despite it all is still very inviting. Laynie Terban, the owner, who spent an hour with us, is wonderful! Part of this time she spent time showing my daughter and I how we should properly sew on her elastics and ribbons on her toe shoes. Her previous teacher actually did this for me. When my 11 year daughter did it herself she totally messed it up. Thankfully its "fixable." We'd bought the toe shoes at a competitor but she still took the time to help us. Laynie is a professional "pointe professor and corrective fitter" for toe shoes. As a mother that means more than a price point. My daughter wants to have a long career in dance, and making sure that her body is protected is more important than any price point issue. Laynie's a member of a professional organization "International Assn. for Dance Medicine & Science." She maintains her education and knowledge of how to properly take care of a dancer's body. As she advertises, she is an educator and loves to pass on both new and traditional information about dance shoes to her customers. I can speak to this first hand. She took the time to truly educate both my daughter and I on how to break in her toe shoes from "day 1." In addition to all of this, if you register in her system as a dancer and where you study, she offers a 10% off the top discount to you. She also accepts competitor's coupons from other dance stores. Payment is accepted by credit card as well. Could your find some place cheaper? Perhaps, perhaps not. Do you want to ensure that your dancer's body is protected as he or she progresses? Well, then give her a try. I'm sure you'd want to become a "regular." I certainly plan on it.

From leotards to tights to hair nets to accessories - they always have just what we need! And they're willing to order what they don't have. In addition, every staff member is helpful and knowledgeable. They are great at fitting ballet slippers, never trying to sell you something that isn't right for you. My daughter always feels like she's being listened to when she tells them how a particular ballet slipper feels or fits. This review actually comprises two visits here…read more We first stopped by yesterday about 10:30, a half hour before they opened. We went shopping a few doors down to kill some time. There's only so long Baby B will sit in the car with nothing to do. We got back just before 11 and waited till 20 after the hour. At that point, no one had showed to open up and Baby B had had enough. We came back this morning with much better results We were greeted by one of the owners who knew exactly what we were looking for and got our required leotard. They have a lot of merchandise other then just dance wear. This will probably require a future visit with MS O to check out the T-shirts, gifts and Jewelery. Prices seemed reasonable and the service we experienced was fantastic.
