Supposed to be Meat Sauce Spaghetti but it's spaghetti soup instead smh after I left the closed and I called and nobody answered. Also this trash spaghetti was supposed to come with salad and garlic bread and it didn't. This place really ruined my night

Local pizza joint. Good pizza, great crust! Wings were awesome, service is nice. If they threw a couple arcade games in there it would give us CiCi's pizza kids the nostalgia we need! (But with way better pizza!)

Pizza was top-notch and we are picky about our pies! Tha HUZZ Ban & I stopped in yesterday for the first time and we were not impressed with the atmosphere (They did not have the dining area available just two high tops-Pizza boxes lined all the way down just needs to be tidied up) Did Not affect the pizza!!!! The crust was fabulous it was not soggy many places have soggy pizza or burnt- our pizza was hot, cheesy and very tasty!!! Order a pizza or buy a slice or two! It was a very good pie!

Wanted a quick bite and walked in due to their promotion for 2 slices. I thought that it would be a regular sized slice, however, they were huge! They were almost the size of half a regular pizza. So much food for such low prices, and tastes really good too. Service was attentive and ensured I was well and enjoying my meal. Pictured: one single slice.

Chris was very friendly! Pizza was delicious. As a New Yorker I was just happy to get a slice and it exceeded my expectations. It felt like home and gave an authentic pizzeria feel.

They offer a lunch special that has me in a choke hold! NY Style Pizza is the best. The staff is extremely friendly! Great family style ambiance if you'd like to dine in!

We stopped in for so e pizza and wings never disappointed. They have really GREAT hand tossed pizza unique sauce an not a chain. I LOVE the thin crust and the wings were really good nit no sauce smothered on them it is served on the side The staff working tonight were the nicest and very attentive. I am happy we stopped in.

The pizza was very good, I'd rate it a 4 out of 5 for sure. I just felt like 2 peices of pizza with some toppings shouldn't have cost $10. I asked for one slice of pepperoni, another with vegetables. What I didn't realize is that I would get UP charged for every single vegetable on my vegetable pizza. So with a base price of for a slice of cheese pizza just $2.66 x 2 = $5.32. I was very surprised to get charged almost $10. $9.75 to be exact. Now to their credit, the veggie pizza had so many toppings on it I had to use a fork and knife to eat it. It was pretty damn tasty. Lastly, the staff was fairly nice, just wish they had been upfront about the cost for a single slice of veggie pizza. I will be back, just this time I'll be very cognizant of how I'm charged.

He stayed in touch with me from the moment we booked, checked in often, and made sure everything ran smoothly the day of. His warmth, professionalism, and genuine care set the tone for the whole event. The entire family and staff were just as kind and attentive. We had over 75 guests, and every single person had something wonderful to say, the food was delicious, the service was flawless, and the atmosphere felt like being welcomed into someone's home. They truly went above and beyond for us. After the event, a few of us lingered and were joined by their Nona (Mima). She is pure light - warm, welcoming, and full of love. Sharing stories and hugs with her was something I'll always treasure. Mama Rosa's isn't just a restaurant. It's a place filled with heart, family, and genuine hospitality. Do not hesitate -- go.

The highlight of the meal was definitely the Italian sub. I added sweet peppers, and that was absolutely the right move. It was fresh, flavorful, and packed with quality meats and toppings. If I come back, it will be for the sub alone--and maybe to give one of their pizzas a try. The chicken marsala, however, was a letdown. The chicken cutlet was thicker than I prefer and ended up being a little tough. More importantly, the marsala sauce lacked the rich, hearty flavor that makes this dish so comforting. It wasn't bad, but it just didn't have the depth or savory mushroom-forward flavor I was expecting. Overall, it didn't quite hit the mark for me. The Greek salad was fresh and a nice addition to the meal, but it wasn't enough to make up for the disappointment of the entrée. Since this was a takeout order, I can't really comment much on the overall service. The young lady who handed me my food wasn't particularly friendly, but she wasn't rude either--just kind of neutral. The interaction was quick and uneventful. Overall, Mamma Rosa's wasn't a bad experience, but it also wasn't one that left me eager to return. The Italian sub was excellent and is the only thing that would bring me back, along with maybe trying a pizza. As for the pasta dishes, I don't think I'd order those again

The food, as it should be is the star of the show. I ordered the Duck, which was the best duck I've had at a restaurant in a very long time. Some places can over cook it in an attempt to get that crispy skin, but here it was cooked to perfection. The skin was crispy, meat flavorful and juicy, and not overly greasy. The sweet potato puree was excellent and elevated the meal. The drinks menu was really good. Our friends are Wine Connessiuers and we're impressed with the selection. Not a Connessiuer myself, though I do enjoy a nice red every now and then, our selection was really good. Circa 1918 is a bit of a trip for us, but I'm sure we will be back and I'd recommend this place to anyone in the Newport News area.

This has been high on my "want to try" for a long time and finally saw an opportunity with an available reservation, went for it and am so happy I did. I dined solo, which I rarely do, but this was the perfect place for it. It was apparent that most people dining were regulars. The owner was chatting with just about everyone and diners were popping over to other tables to say hello, as well. Felt like a very small town. Service was perfect - not overbearing, but perfectly timed for a good flow throughout dinner. Their menu changes often, so some of the items I loved, may not be available - but it does seem like their fried oysters are a mainstay and holy moly, they were delicious. I had one cocktail - I believe it was called Watermelon Sugar. It had vodka, aperol and fresh watermelon. Refreshing and smooth. I tried two apps: the fried oysters and the bao buns. Both were fantastic. Perfectly prepared, so much flavor. I think that next time, I would stick to the appetizer section and try many rather than getting an entree. I got the scallops, which were delicious, but the apps wow-ed me more. Prices aren't low, but you get what you pay for - really high quality dishes with lots of thought and execution embedded. I don't say this lightly - this has been added to my top 10 list in all of Hampton Roads!

Not a lot of parking in the front, but plenty behind. There is a large patio that has vinyl walls, but it doesn't look to be air conditioned at all. Inside is very small and is essentially the kitchen. They were remodeling so the dining room section was closed off. Unfortunately, it was very warm in the area we sat in. Waitstaff: Absolutely wonderful! Our server made our drinks and was knowledgeable in all of the cocktails we asked for which was a breath of fresh air because many places we have gone are not familiar with The Last Word or a Boulevardier (seems odd to me). Food: They started off with some bread and salted butter. We thought it was a little too salty for our tastes, but good none the less. We tried the watermelon salad and clams. Both were really, really good and would highly recommend both. We finished with a fig tart that was excellent! Overall: For the evening, I would rate this a 4.5 restaurant. We left at 7pm having never received our dinner but did get plenty of excuses. We watched other diners come and go, watched our drinks be refilled and then watched our hopes for dinner fade slowly. First, we were told that the lasagna that I ordered was "time consuming" as the table next to us, who arrived 15 minutes after us, ate their Duck. Then, we were told that our food was being plated as three other tables finished their food and left. 15 additional minutes later, we asked for the check and were met yet again with the tall tale of "it's being plated right now". Finally, after insisting on our check, someone who we think was the manager came out and told us they comped us wine and soda, she said "it's been a long week here". Although we appreciate the attempt at an apology, transparency would have been the answer here. Why was our food never prepared? That explanation would have gone a long way for us. Do better, Blanca.
