This was one of the closer options to me since I don't drive, and I was worried this was going to be a mediocre massage since it didn't cost a lot. This was actually one of the best massages I've had since shopping for them on groupon. Laura was so nice and she had wonderful pressure as well as identifying where the tension was. She used a machine first for my shoulders and back to relieve and warm up my body for about 20 to 25 minutes, then she started rubbing the knots out and it hurt so good. The conversation we were having kept me distracted from how sore my body was. She also noticed that the amount of tension on my shoulders resulted in a slight misalignment in my neck. She got most of my knots out and rubbed the rest of my body for a bit. I appreciated it so much as her husband was kind enough to also adjust my neck and back for me. An absolutely wonderful experience where I will be recommending my family and friends as well.

I made the appointment and was told I would receive an email confirmation....I received 5 (somewhat annoying). I was also asked to fill out a survey beforehand but the link did not work. When I went in for my appointment I was not asked to fill anything out. Strange. The office does not look very professional. The massage table had a drab, wrinkled sheet placed over it and I wondered if it was used by the person before me. I don't even think it was a sheet (maybe just a piece of fabric - as I don't remember seeing seams. The nerve-wracking/scary part of my experience began as I came into the building. The office is in an apartment building at the end of a hallway on the 4th floor. I had the last appointment of the day and was surprised to find the halls dim and quiet (no one around) and no receptionist at the desk. The therapist was finishing with another client and when she left I looked around expecting to see someone else. I was alone in the big, quiet building with a 50-something year old man dressed in black. Besides being creeped out that is also unprofessional, especially when a male is treating female clients. You should always have someone else around for the clients safety and comfort and therapists (so they don't get accused of anything). Since the groupon was a gift I hadn't looked into the clinic, but soon realized it was a chiropractic clinic. The groupon was for a swedish massage but the therapist did a lot of just stretching my arms and legs (which I didn't really care for and couldn't relax because of the atmosphere - being alone and the bright room). He also was cracking my fingers and toes with is painful and creeps me out, but he stopped when I asked. The massage was very mediocre and I honestly didn't feel much different after leaving. When I was leaving, the therapist asked me to fill out a survey on the computer. Again, this seemed unprofessional and he was standing right there so I felt pressure to write a good review. :( Overall, it wasn't a very good experience and I was happy to get out of there.

It wasn't lingerie per se, but damn close. But being a middle-aged woman myself, I figured no way she's going to proposition *me* so as long as the massage is good who cares what she's wearing. But to back up -- when I first walked in I asked d a 30 minute chair massage but when they set up the chair it looked broken and wasn't comfortable so I asked for a bed massage instead. She said she could do 15 minutes and I said OK. The bed was in a clean and comfortable private room and the massage was fine. However, it lasted maybe 11 minutes tops. However, given that her technique was somewhat scattered and was pretty simplistic, it was obvious that she didn't have the skills nor the attention span for anything longer than 10 minutes, so it was just as well. Anyway I don't want to complain too much about having someone rub your back and scratch your head for maybe 11 minutes, which, let's face it, always feels pretty good. And it was only $15 (she charged me $10 and I tipper her $5 because, well, why not).

When we arrived, the front desk staff told us that Windy City Massage was an in-house spa and when we asked how to make an appointment she said very clearly, "they aren't associated with the Kimpton Gray, you can contact them directly for an appointment and more information." We should've taken that as a sign. The website is a little sketch, you have to pay when you book so we decided to call and leave a voicemail. When they called back, we scheduled for the next morning at 8am. Since it was a massage, we were fine with the early morning. When we arrived, the room was a large event space with a reception table and chair, and a few worn chairs and coffee table. There were two massage rooms off of the larger room so we assumed that's where the massage would take place. When the masseuses came out for us, they were super kind. We asked about the free upgrade with the Yelp check in and they said the only two available were foot or scalp massage so we each chose one. To make a long review short, the massage experience was not great. The acoustics were horrible so I could hear everything happening in the waiting area while in my massage. The massage was very basic; the foot massage "upgrade" was included in the 50 minutes versus the additional 20 minutes advertised; the music was playing from a cell phone; there was no carpet so the chair that the masseuse used was loudly dragged across the floor several times. Overall it was not at all a good or relaxing experience and not worth the cost. The Kimpton should to be associated with this business.
