Duck breast and crab cakes were both delicious!

The food is excellent. The choices available on any given night will please any palate (except for someone who shouldn't be dining out!). My only complaint? The over-the-top pretentiousness of the servers and bussers. Obviously, the staff are trained to say "How are we doing this evening?" "Is everything to our liking?" "How are we liking our mocktail?" "Are we ready for our check?" Now, if our server was tasting our food and drink, and if she were willing to split the tab with us, I'd say "We're thrilled!" (and I'd mean her too.) 18 hours later and I'm still mystified about the purpose of this service style (outside of Buckingham Palace, perhaps).

First off, the ambiance and service were absolutely fantastic and out of the park. I tip my hat to them for the great accommodations and speedy yet accurate and delightful service. If you want to have a very beautiful and classy dinner with a partner or your whole family this an awesome spot to do it at . The river was very Erie at the time which added to its mystique and beauty. On a clear hot an sunny day it's a great photo op location. Second, the food / drinks. All of our waiters / waitresses were fantastic and really kind. We had some kids at our event and they wanted French fries and there was no issue getting that out to them . As an adult we got jealous and also ordered French fries and there was again, no problem there. It was a 3 course set and all of the courses were very good. The only knock I have is that nothing was great or blowing me away. That does not mean this place is bad or anything of the sort. In fact I would gladly return to this establishment. I just felt like the steak could have been more flavorful. The mushroom soup could have been more robust (the bread assortment they give was actually delicious) . The one thing that I can say was my favorite part of the course was the cheesecake. I think that was the highlight of my course. The crust was nice and buttery And the cheese wasn't too heavy and not too lite. All in all I had a fun time here and I would love to return. If you're in the area and want a nice scene while eating this is the place.

    An amuse bouche--tomato gazpacho.

We started off our casual Wednesday dinner at Andres outside. It was stunning and beautifully serene until the torrential downpour started. Even being underneath the tent, we were still getting soaked. So, having finished our appetizer of the inside out burrata outside, we moved inside. My fiancé and I loved the burrata appetizer, well balanced with the arugula salad and the sweetness of the peaches and plums. For our main entree, we shared the tomato basil pizza, which we had the pleasure of watching Andre himself prepare outside by the wood fire stove. The pizza was everything we had hoped for, crispy crust and gooey mozzarella cheese, topped with fresh basil. After polishing off the pizza, we moved onto dessert. My fiancé and I opted for the creme brûlée, which itself is a work of art at Andres. Crowned on top with beautiful berries and a sugar cookie, the creme brûlée was perfection and just the right amount of sweetness. We will certainly be back, as we can't wait to try their other menu items. A huge thank you to Tracey, Andre's wife, who checked on us during the evening and made sure that we had everything we needed. NOTES/TIPS: **On Wednesdays, it's casual. It's not their regular menu, but a great time to try this restaurant. **Make reservations!! Andres is very popular and they get booked pretty quickly. **There's plenty of parking in front of the restaurant. **Sit outside, if the weather is nice. The ambiance is just beautiful and some nights they even have a musician playing outside. **They are a BYOB!!

At Andres, besides incredibly unique and delish food, there's this !

I've been here a number of times. I cant find the words to adequately describe the food and dining experience here. Tonight's dinner was a 5. From the amuse-bouche to the salad to the entree dessert and coffee. A solid 5. Decor, ambiance .. just amazing. Guys.. you must bring you dates here. Amazing place. Solid 5.

Is this restaurant still open? Their website appears to be shut down.

    Yes - https://andreslakeside.com

    Is it byob?

It's both, they offer wine and beer selections albeit limited and you can BYOB, there was not a corkage fee last time I checked but give them a call - they are super friendly and helpful - you are in for a treat. Walter

Here I go again--another French bistro I absolutely adore…read more Christine's French Bistro is everything you want in a cozy, decadent French spot: small, intimate, softly lit with sconces, and anchored by a beautiful bar you can dine at or just sip champagne and linger. Let's be honest--I come here for one reason: the soufflés. They are my kryptonite. Sweet or savory, they never disappoint. I've had the chocolate (rich, decadent, flawless), though I'm still chasing my ultimate favorite--the elusive Grand Marnier soufflé. One day... Beyond that: * Mussels + champagne = always a win * Service is warm and welcoming * Prices feel fair for the quality and experience This place has become part of my ritual when I'm in the area. I'll fly into Newark Liberty International Airport, hop on the Amtrak Acela, get off in Princeton, head straight here, and yes--plan my trip around a soufflé. No regrets. The location is perfect--right in the heart of Princeton, which is one of those charming, walkable towns with tree-lined streets and that classic, almost European feel. There's garage parking nearby, but honestly, once you're there, you won't need your car. Perfect for: * Date night * Dessert and champagne with friends * Solo bar seating (highly recommend) Bottom line: Elegant, cozy, and worth going out of your way for--especially if you love a proper soufflé. Life's too short not to eat well. Go make it happen.

There were literally 8 French fries on the plate and they were cold. I understand restaurants are trying to cut costs but potatoes are still cheap. One diner had the lamb special which was supposed to be served with a sauce but was dry and flavorless. The accompanying black rice was just there. The only positive was our server who was helpful and friendly. This is Princeton for Pete's sake. Most of the patrons have been to France and know good dining.

The arch-roofed dining room is absolutely charming, with whimsical colorful chandeliers and a warmth that pulls you right in. There's also a gorgeous globe-lit back patio that looks like it's seen some unforgettable evenings. BYOB at a restaurant this good? Yes. Take advantage of it. The menu is fixed-price, four courses with three options each -- simple, elegant, and unpretentious. Cash discount in March is a nice bonus too. Now the food -- where do I start. The **Roasted Candied Beets Carpaccio** was visually stunning and tasted even better. Blood Orange Balsamic Vinaigrette, Burrata, Prosciutto -- every flavor had its own moment. The **Crab Cake** was loaded with fresh, quality crab -- the chive oil pairing was spot on. But the showstopper? **Venison Wellington.** Tender, perfectly seasoned, and not something you see on many menus. I would order it again without hesitation. Finished with a peanut butter, chocolate and banana dessert paired with an espresso -- an absolutely perfect ending. The staff was warm, attentive, and somehow never made you feel rushed or hovered over. That's a gift. Easily one of the best dining experiences I've had. Highly recommend -- just bring your favorite bottle and your appetite.

There are several big screen TVs around the restaurant and it was cool we could keep on top of the score. The mussels and the scrumptious broth it came with was very good and just a bit spicy. I had the chicken fricassee as my entree and my friends also had the duck special, which they loved. We also had a very nice fruit sorbet that looked and tasted very impressive. There's also a great view outside on the veranda of a beautiful lake. Glad we stayed inside that night. Not only was it super hot outside but it poured during dinner and we stayed nice and dry. Every staff member was attentive, from those bringing bread and drinks to those checking in just to ensure we were enjoying ourselves. The owner personally stopped by to make sure we were having a lovely time, which added an extra touch of hospitality. The venue itself exudes classic elegance--it feels like "old money" charm and could easily be a backdrop for a scene in The Godfather. For dinner, I ordered the classic Caesar salad, pan-roasted Angus filet mignon with potato au gratin, and the chocolate soufflé. The salad was what you'd expect--fresh and well-prepared. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly and served in a surprisingly generous portion. The chocolate soufflé must be pre-ordered, and while my husband loved it, I realized I personally prefer a lighter, airier chocolate cake--but that's simply a matter of taste, not execution. Overall, the exceptional service and warm hospitality are what will bring us back again. ------------------------------------------ "Because dining is more than food - it's flavor, style and elegance that should be savored one bite at a time." - AMC
