Special needs parents beware…read more I think I should highlight the most important part and that is that Dr.Datta refused my son service without knowledge or regard for my husband and I. Kept our special needs son waiting AN HOUR AND A HALF to not even walk up to us and say hello before denying my son service without medical clearance that he does not need. My youngest is special needs. Made an appointment at Williamsburg Pediatric Dentistry for both of my children over 2 months ago for today (6/8/26). Both were scheduled for 11:30, which would lead a parent to assume that both children would be taken care of at the same time so both my husband and I attended so we could each cater to one child. We arrive a few minutes early, it's 30 mins after our appointment and we just get called back. Typically I don't mind waiting but with a special needs child it adds to the stress of the appointment. We go back and they've chosen to do one child at a time and my neurotypical child would go first. Right when the dental hygienist gets started the fire alarm goes off. Ok... not in the offices control so we're not upset but definitely feeling stressed as we keep our son waiting for something he's already hesitant on. 15-20 mins later we go back inside and my daughters cleaning has started. Honestly the quickest cleaning I've ever experienced or witnessed and I'm not sure if that's good or bad. I think she was trying to make up for lost time. Then X-rays. Then she explains that she's going to take our son to a small room where it would be just him. But he had just watched his sister and other kids all in the big room so that freaked him out to then take him somewhere else. Nothing in the room was prepared and our son was not having it by this point... I mean we're 90 mins in of being there. We're expected to be able to keep him relaxed when the room nor the dental hygienist are prepared. The dental hygienist comes back with a form and "unfortunately we cannot see him..." for medical clearance that he's never required for the dentist before because Dr. Datta refused service based on his epilepsy diagnosis without hearing any details and I know this because my teenage daughter that they left in the bigger room was there to hear it all. Dr.Datta didn't give the dental hygienist even a second to explain my sons diagnosis or really anything about him at all. Dr.Datta couldn't even come in the room with the hygienist to say that. Would absolutely never recommend to any family, especially to those of special needs children. Life is hard already, go to a dentist that really cares about your children. This could have easily been avoided if when I made the appointment two months prior and stated that my child was special needs that they would require further information then so that if medical clearance was required that I could have had that prepared.

I had a 2 year old and newborn son. They allowed me to bring them both and helped me the whole time take care of my boys. As my family grew and I became pregnant again, they treated me like family. They always allow me to make appointments for all three of my son's and myself at the same time. Sue, the hygienist, is literally the best in the business. She is so friendly and sweet and remembers everything about my family. Dr. Contract is so amazing. When my oldest son was 5, he needed some extensive dental work. She recommended a pediatric dentist but that person wanted to do thousands of dollars worth of work in a hospital setting. I went back to Dr. Contract and she did the work in her office for a fraction of the cost...under $100. She made my 5 year old feel like he was just having his teeth cleaned. He had to have a root canal and he doesn't remember any of it (he's 10 now). He has NO anxiety from the experience and adores her. I have recommended this practice to everyone I meet. Dr. Contract has come in on weekends and holidays to help some family and friends with dental emergencies. She takes pride in her profession and really cares about the patients. I will never go to another dentist a long as Williamsburg Smiles exists. The staff are amazing and truly care about each of their patients.

This was how my visit at Oceans of Smiles went: Seconds after Huie introducing himself he asked my 6year old daughter if she had a boyfriend to which my daughter very happily answered that she does have friends that are boys in her class, then he asked the same question again but he said it slower and with an emphasis on the word Boyfriend, my daughter just turned and look at me with a confused look, I didn't say anything and remained silent, so then Huie decided to break the awkward silence with a stay at home mom joke (which he and his assistant laughed it off) again I didn't say anything and remained silent. The rest of the visit he spent it flirting with his beautiful young blond assistance, teasing each other about who could spell the best and other stuff. So Unprofessional!

On this particular day, it was cold and rainy. We went to sit back in the car and saw some people behind the desk. We got out again and knocked on the door. No waving to say they'll be right there, the woman who unlocked the door stood talking to someone behind the desk for an extra minute or two before opening it up. There was no apology offered or explanation why they locked the doors, the only reason I knew was I overheard someone else talking about it. It would be nice to keep your customers informed and have a professional, courteous front desk staff. You can believe that if I showed up late for the appointment they would charge me a fee. That being said, the dental assistant was very nice and explained how my son can improve his brushing and flossing.

As we walked out we stated to that same receptionist that we were in the bathroom and she replied with a very snarky well they have called your name a few times already. We got inside the dentist barely looked in my kids mouth so not much care there either. As we were leaving they asked if we wanted to reschedule to which we stated no. My journey started in October 2024 and involved multiple dentists, crown replacements, countless adjustments, consultations with specialists, and even a root canal. Throughout that time, I knew something still wasn't right, but I never felt like anyone was truly getting to the bottom of the problem. From my first visit, Dr. Loren Masuoka was different. He listened carefully to my concerns, took my symptoms seriously, and never made me feel like I was imagining things. Instead of dismissing what I was experiencing, he genuinely wanted to understand why I was still having pain and find a solution. During my appointment, he took the time to evaluate my bite and noticed that my crown was taking most of the force when I bit down. He carefully adjusted it and explained what he was seeing. The result has been incredible. For the first time since October 2024, I can chew on the right side of my mouth without pain. The cold sensitivity is gone, and I no longer spend every meal worrying about that tooth. After nearly two years of frustration, appointments, and uncertainty, I finally feel like myself again. The greatest gift Dr. Masuoka gave me was making me feel heard. When you've been dealing with a problem for that long, having a dentist who listens, believes you, and genuinely wants to help is invaluable. I am so grateful to Dr. Masuoka and everyone at Morrison Dental Group for their compassion, patience, and commitment to finding answers. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

The most unprofessional and worst medical experiences of my family's life…read more Service - Terrible, borderline Malpractice. My wife had over 10 appointments for a single root canal over the span of a year. It was done poorly multiple times and had to be re-done. One time they left cotton & thread in her mouth and secured the crown and left it there in her gums for months before realizing it the next appointment and removing it. They had the her crown delivered to a different office and when she showed up, they realized the mistake, unapologetically. They were confused over which crown was the right one since they took multiple molds and made multiple versions. Ended up securing the wrong fitting crown which fell out after a month. The list goes on. Communication / Organization - Terrible. Reference above and after ten appointments give or take, my wife is going to a new dentist to get a proper root canal on the same tooth. Multiple instances of last minute cancellations, changing the appointment time the morning of (later and earlier), after taking off work, securing childcare, etc. Does not return phone calls, does not want to help, reactive communication, etc. Three different times where I took off work to watch the kids and they call late the night prior or the morning of to cancel on us. Obvious disorganization and a lack of respect and care for people's time. Front Office - The unprofessionalism of the office clerk, Tony/Toni is unforgivable. Unfathomable. My wife and I have called politely multiple times only to be given no information, met with confusion, attitude, resistance, zero situational awareness, and no willingness to attempt to solve the problem; even when they caused them. After telling us the day prior, and multiple visits, that they don't accept tricare and won't serve active duty, they said "we're not sure what happened, but we shouldn't have treated you." ...What? How do you not know that? Thankfully my wife got in the habit of calling a few days prior, to confirm the appointments, and they finally returned a call to say, sorry find a new dentist. The laughable part is they won't release her medical records to the new dentist that does accept tricare. They are physically unable because they state their software won't let them. I'll assume they can't consolidate a report into a file and send encrypted via email. I'll assume they have no way to hand patient continuity to any location or print and provide to my wife to hand carry. After hanging up on us multiple times, we got a hold of the office manager, Carol who was equally unhelpful and said she would call back with a solution at 2. It is 4 hours later and nothing heard. They won't call back and that's okay at this point. I fully expect her records will not be transferred and we will incur the cost to get re-imaging and scans that were accomplished within the last 30 days, because of a failure to want to help. They don't want to help...ever. It's truly astonishing. I've seen my wife cry maybe 5 times in time I've known her (over a decade). 2-3 of those were after interactions with this dentist. The lack of professional skills, the disrespect, and disorganization in the front office is 100% indicative of the work that happens behind the front desk. If I remember correctly, the owners / dentists are prior military. They must despise the military community because they have absolutely failed us with no afterthought. It's common knowledge amongst my colleagues at work and an absolute shame. If the owners care to chat, let me know! I'm happy to provide constructive feedback and insight
