Fast, non-invasive x-rays, the ability to fabricate crowns in-house, huge staff...felt like it was a step in the right direction. Fast forward to now, and I feel differently. I had one crown done, as a tooth had cracked. I was given a $1,000 estimate with the standard disclaimer that I'll be responsible for the actual amount. No problem, I know the drill, as I have had dental work done in the past. The problem was their "estimate" was 100% off, and now I'm being asked to pay $2,000 for a crown that was supposed to be $1,000. From my perspective, if my job was to deal with insurance companies on a daily basis and I had hundreds of patients and thousands of EOBs, I should be able to get closer than being half-way to the actual price. I can't help but feel like I was taken advantage of. Had I known the actual price, I likely would have shopped around and had the work done elsewhere. On my next cleaning visit, the dentist told me I needed something like 6 or 7 MORE crowns. How many of those are medically necessary, and how many are to add billable income, since they cost so much more than insurance covers, AND can be done in-house?

It was extremely rough and more painful than anything I've experienced before. My gums were left irritated and bleeding way more than what's normal for a routine cleaning. I know there is discomfort and yea I don't floss every day, I get my teeth cleaned every 6 months and nothing compared to this visit. I usually go to brightwood dental in Atascadero but recently my insurance changed and iv paid out of pocket to come to Paso Robles dental before and thought it was great besides this visit There was also no real patient care. No check ins, no communication.. nothing. At one point I had saliva/water running down my face down to my neck and the hygienist didn't do anything until I was trying to stop her so I can clean it myself, then she proceeded to give me this 2x2 piece of gauze that was clearly not enough for the amount of spit that I had come up . That alone says a lot about the level of attention here. The biggest issue is the cleaning didn't even feel finished. The backs of my teeth didn't feel cleaned, and there was no mirror check or any effort to confirm the job was done properly. For $199, this felt rushed and low quality. I won't be back. If you're paying out of pocket, I'd think twice before coming here. I was going to book an appointment after this one to do their teeth whitening package but after this experience i will be going elsewhere. I attached a picture for reference of the back of my teeth so sorry if the quality is off and gross but you can clearly see the back wasn't even touched!!

I swear this is true! Almost two years and $7500 later, I am now finished with INVISALIGN....caused by the tight crown pushing my teeth to the side such that one of my front teeth was slightly overlapping the other. Just Saying!!!!!! P.S. It says I live in Palm Desert.....haven't lived there in 5 years....otherwise, I would have gone to my wonderful dentist there. I now live on the Central Coast of California.
