While undressed, Dr. Thanapathy asked me health questions about myself and family, which is standard practice for any doctor. However, her tone of voice and how she asked the questions were uncalled for. NOBODY, not even a doctor, has the right to talk down to anybody, which includes GASLIGHTING, a patient, like this! We have every right to walk out of any room. We need to normalize calling individuals out for their toxic and unwelcome behavior. That's exactly what took place here. Dr. Thanapathy is rude, condescending, unprofessional, borderline unethical. Her behavior seems normal to her which is alarming to any reasonable person. Do not support this woman's business.

I spoke with five different surgeons in the Bay Area and she really stood out for her professionalism. More so than any other surgeon, my consult with her felt like a medical appointment as opposed to a sales pitch. She went into my medical history and went to great lengths to understand the results I wanted to achieve, especially as a smaller person trying not to go too big. She was honest, patient, and highly informed and willing to go into great detail about the procedure, which I really appreciated. Jolie (the practice manager) was also fantastic for laying out all of the details of the surgery and making sure it went smoothly. I trusted her enough to try a new implant (Motiva) that she hadn't worked with previously and do not regret my decision at all. The surgery itself went very smoothly and I had a surprisingly quick recovery (2 days of bedrest for 215-230cc implants under the muscle). Dr. Weintraub and Jolie were very responsive with the questions I had about aftercare. Three months post-surgery, I'm incredibly happy with the results and keep getting great feedback about how natural they look and feel! 10/10 would recommend this practice and working with Dr. Weintraub especially. Note: A lot of plastic surgeons will go to great lengths to market themselves, taking out advertisements and promoting their business so it's at the top of search results. I heard about Dr. Weintraub from a friend-of-a-friend and was way more impressed with her than all of the top-billed surgeons I consulted with. Even though I was nervous, he and his amazing anesthesiologist were always confident and have had several years of surgery experience. My recovery was strong- no pain or nausea, a couple of days of minor bleeding, managed with just mild medication. I also managed to sleep. And Dr. Mehta's post - op support has been incredible. He truly cares about his patients and has made a positive difference in my quality of life. I sleep better, and can exercise more. And I noticed better cardiovascular function aswell. Didn't ask her if she'd like any other services, just goodbye and no prorated fee, deposit can't be transferred to something else because it wasn't part of the consultation. I purchased and paid upfront for a complete laser hair removal package and had my first treatment performed by Claudia. After the appointment, I learned more about California's licensing requirements for who can perform laser treatments, so my husband called Balance Med Spa to confirm Claudia's credentials. He specifically asked if Claudia was an RN and was told yes. When he then asked for her RN license number so we could verify it, the response changed. The person on the phone stumbled over his answer and then said, "Well, I'm the nurse," explaining that Claudia performed my treatment for sensitivity/comfort reasons. That interaction completely broke our trust. If we had simply accepted the initial answer that Claudia was an RN and hadn't asked for a license number, we would have walked away believing something that the conversation itself immediately called into question. We requested to discontinue the package, and Balance Med Spa agreed to issue us a refund, which I appreciate. I would strongly encourage anyone considering laser treatment here--or anywhere--to ask before treatment for the name and professional license/credentials of the individual who will actually be operating the laser, and verify that information for yourself.
