Final results are beautiful, quality, craftsmanship, and attention to detail. Very happy with all the work they did in the back of the house so we hired them to do additional work to the front of our house and replaced all wood with PVC product and all handrails and banisters with metal. They look absolutely gorgeous. I found their communication software very user friendly. Payment process was disclaimed at front based on milestones. Of course there's always glitches in the process and it wouldn't be fair to leave a review without mentioning them. 1- working to get architecture and engineering completed took a few months. 2- a significant surprising unsightly design change was not disclosed. There were additional costs to cover it up. 3- designer renderings showed all wood posts and joist in black paint but this was not included in the original cost, this was another significant cost increase. 4- all decks were to have lights on all railings, that was on the original contract. However, we were told later that the cost of an electrician was not included in our contract. This was yet another cost surprise. Overall, I am very pleased with everything as they addressed every single item that needed to be addressed and it looks beautiful. I will definitely hire them again, but just make sure to ask all posible questions no matter how silly to ensure that everything is included in that upfront quote and there are no surprises.

The entire process was incredibly easy from start to finish. I called and also submitted a request through their website, and someone quickly followed up to schedule an estimate. Stephen arrived right on time -- actually a little earlier than the scheduled window -- and the quoting process was straightforward. I received the estimate later that same day, and their pricing was very fair and significantly better than several other quotes I had received. I approved everything online, and shortly afterward they called to schedule the work within the next couple of weeks. What impressed me just as much as the pricing was their communication and attention to detail. We had literally finished painting the exterior of our house only 4 days before the fence work, so I reached out ahead of time and asked them to take extra care around the freshly painted stucco. They responded immediately, noted it on the job, and when the crew arrived, they already knew about my concern. That kind of communication between the office and field crew gave me a lot of confidence! The crew replaced 3 gates, repaired the top of another gate, and repaired a section of fencing, all in about 4 hours. The difference is incredible. The new gates feel heavy, sturdy, and very well built, and the hinges and latches are a huge upgrade from what we had before. One detail especially impressed me: they even adjusted the bottom of our front gate -- something that wasn't part of the original scope -- to give it better clearance from the ground. Now the gate opens much wider and makes it so much easier for us to move our recycling bins in and out. It was a small detail, but exactly the kind of thing that shows they weren't just checking boxes on a work order. They paid attention to how we actually use the gate and made it better. And yes -- my freshly painted wall came through completely intact. No scratches, chips, or damage whatsoever. From the initial estimate to scheduling, communication, workmanship, and those thoughtful finishing touches, I had a great experience with Marsh Fence & Deck. The finished product looks so much better, and everything feels solid and built to last. I can't wait for them to come out again in a couple of weeks and paint/stain the new gates and fence! Thank you to Stephen, the crew, and the entire Marsh team. I would absolutely use them again and highly recommend them!

[The following was edited to provide a play by play to show I acted in good faith and communicated my concerns _several times_ before giving up.] We scheduled work to start on a Friday. The job was for a straight railing of about 11 ft to replace our old railing that was rotted out. I asked that the new railing be installed into studs, because the previous railing mounts were loose and I didn't want the same thing to happen with the new railing. The contractors didn't show up until 4:30PM that day. I helped them plug in the welder and they got to work removing the old railing and then installing the new. Several times the welder blew our fuse so I reset it. The crew left that night without a word. The next day I went to check out the work. The new railing was installed in the same place as the old, not in studs, was rounded around the corner and covering our mailbox, and had been spray painted in place, getting black paint all over our beige exterior walls. Needless to say I was extremely surprised at the job and what had been done. It was almost comically bad. Just see the attached picture. I called Roman to voice my frustration. I mentioned I was unhappy with the obvious things but also that the railing had not been secured (a few tugs on the railing would likely pull it out) and that the end of the pipe (because that was what was installed as a railing, plumbing pipe) was not sealed, leaving an unfinished, unprofessional look. He agreed to come back, remove the curved railing blocking my mail slot, paint the wall, and that he would address my concerns. Again, the crew came by late in the day (sensing a trend here, I think they were maybe overbooked and coming from another job, but I speculate...). The wall was painted and the curved piece was cut. That was it. The welds were obvious, seams were visible where returns had been installed, the spray paint was already chipping. I called Roman. I made very clear my frustration with the apparent lack of quality, that it seemed there was a focus on getting things done quickly rather than well, and that my concerns and requests weren't being addressed. He said he would come back and address my concerns. I sent a text also describing these concerns. He cancelled the next scheduled visit. He called a while later but at this point I had moved on and wasn't willing to engage further. I had only agreed to pay half of the job up front, so I wanted to cut my losses and move on. This was supposed to be what I thought would be a simple steel railing installation. It turned out to be quite the opposite. On the plus side, I only agreed to pay half up front. So there's that.
