Dr Lim is a very good orthopedist, I saw him when I fell and broke my arm just below the shoulder. Saw him again for carpal tunnel surgery and trigger finger release. He doesn't have the best bedside manner, rather abrupt, but I would rather have a good doctor than a personality. I would see him again. read more

Very poor bed side manners, did not answer any of my questions he just looked at my X-ray mumble something as he was walking out just left me there waiting, as he was walking out of the exam room he gave orders to someone and she came to tell me I was going to contact, I waited for a month until I called and spoke to the manager about what happened. My experience with Dr. Andrew Lim was incredibly disappointing. He was rude and dismissive. I visited him for shoulder pain, and after glancing at an x-ray I'd previously taken at urgent care, he immediately diagnosed arthritis. He briefly listed treatment options--cortisone shot, anti-inflammatories, or a topical ointment--but offered no further details. When I began asking questions about the cortisone shot, as I had never had one before, he became visibly annoyed, abruptly left the room mid-conversation, and said, "You don't have to get it; do what you want." I was stunned by his lack of professionalism and failure to provide any information about the shot, aftercare, or follow-up. I won't be returning, and I strongly advise others to steer clear. read more

My primary doctor who is a very respectable provider recommended me to see Dr Andrew Lim. My first meeting and consultation for my surgery I met Dr Lim in his office. As he walks inside the room, he didn't make eye contact and asked me what I was there for. He mentioned one of his staff will call me when I'm ready for surgery. He was very short with his answers, rushed out, and left. I didn't think anything of it at that moment. Fast forward 3 weeks later I've yet to hear from their office so I decided to call. I was then told that I had to call them in order for me to schedule my surgery. The surgery was finally scheduled. Fast-forward after my surgery is completed, I was told to come back in a month so they can see how my hand look. A day before my appointment. I call to confirm my appointment time. I was told that my appointment was at 11:30 AM. The next day when i arrived, I was told that my appointment was an hour late. I apologize to the staff for the miscommunication. once I saw Dr. Lim, I apologize to him and he said with an attitude "no, you were supposed to be here an hour ago. i'm trying to run a smooth clinic and for that to happen I need you to be here on time.". I started thinking that this provider might actually be a dickhead. But yet again I let it go. I wasn't in a mood to argue. When the cast was taken off I saw that my arm was full of blisters. See images A-D. He looked at my wrist and said we need to let it heal longer so it need to be put in a cast again. They barely cleaned the arm then proceeded to putting another cast on. That afternoon, I called their office and told them that arm then became really irritated, swollen, and painful. It developed rashes all over my arm. They had asked me to go back to the clinic but they would've been close by the time I got there so I was told to just deal with the pain until Monday. That same night I went to the ER and was told I needed to reach out to the doctor who did my surgery because the blisters on my arm might've developed moisture and possibly causing infection that I may not be aware of. So the whole weekend my pain was just to the extreme. I called first thing Monday morning and was able to schedule an emergency appointment. When I arrived at the clinic they took my cast out and it looked swollen than normal. Sure enough it also looked infected. When Dr Lim saw my arm, he had the audacity to put the blame on me and said "this is what happens when you don't follow protocols". I just look at him and he wouldn't make eye contact. He then said he had to remove the pins out now. I asked for anesthesia to be administered and he said "no it's too late for that". I was beyond angry at this point. Dr Lim went ahead and inserted his tools inside my arm with no anesthesia, he was digging and digging for 10-15 minutes. Finally finds one pin and pulls it out. The pain was excruciating. At this point I was screaming from the pain he's causing me. He then tried looking for the second pin, couldn't find it and proceeded to say, "you might've messed up this whole surgery". He then stopped and asked for me to get an X-ray in the middle of all this shit and pain I'm going through. I'm just appalled, but also pissed at the fact that he put the blame on me that he couldn't find the pin. After the X-ray he realized the pin never moved and said "oh". He continues to dig through my hand and he also decided to cut me up open even more WITH NO ANESTHESIA. After he found the second pin half hour later he yanked it out and blood splattered everywhere. I wanted to curse him out so bad but I was in so much pain to do so. After this ordeal, I never went back to him. I also told my primary care doctor to stop referring patients to this Asshole. Doctors are supposed to provide patient care to their patient and this doctor fails at that. He's arrogant, vindictive, careless, power tripping jerk. As an advice, talk to your patients with respect and show more compassion. You're supposed to help them and show them care but you show none of that. I'm in the medical field too so I meet a lot of doctors. I get you guys get busy and get stress at times. I also understand that at times there's some patients that are hard to deal with. However, I showed none of those traits to you to deserve the treatment you've given me. By the looks of it by reading other reviews, it looks like I'm not alone, others have felt the same treatment I got from you. Care about you patients doc, they're reason why you have food in your plate. I'm a younger patient, I feel sorry for the older patient that goes to you not knowing how you are as a doctor. read more

This Dr. Is very very very rude. My husband was injured 7/22/23 saw the doctor 7/31/23. When my husband returned for his second visit to discuss what is to be done on the pectoral tear, he was then informed that he now needs to have the tendon anchored to the bone because the surgery should've been done a week of the injury. Which could've been informed on 7/31/23. Surgery was done Sept. 8th. Today Oct.30 we informed the Dr. that his left shoulder is now weak from the over compensating. He burst with well we aren't seeing him for that. Plain rude. Do not see this Dr. Ever. Sonia the manager is very kind and supportive. But this doctor NO!!!!!! Because of an ongoing pain in my right forearm, I was recommended by my primary doctor to make an appointment with Dr. Andrew Lim at Torrance Memorial Physician Network in Torrance last week. Dr. Lim was rude, unsympathetic, and disrespectful. He showed zero compassion for his patient. He didn't ask how I had injured my forearm. When I tried to tell him, he immediately cut me off and said there was nothing wrong with my forearm other than a little calcification in my elbow, according to the x-ray image. He didn't offer any solution or what to do to ease my pain. Then he got up from his chair and started to walk out of the room and told me I could leave. Pleasantly Surprised with Hand Surgery Results On May-24-2023 Dr. Lim performed surgery on my right hand (Carpal tunnel & 4 trigger fingers). I was pleasantly surprised with the results. Although he prescribed pain med, I didn't feel any post-op pain. Also, I didn't feel any post-op numbness or tingling and had feeling in my hand & fingers. Several years ago I had solo left hand carpal tunnel surgery with a different doctor in Massachusetts. After that surgery, I experienced pain, numbness & tingling that lasted for several weeks while the feeling gradually crept up to my finger tips with the help of a lot of rehab. Dr. Lim is the rudest person I have ever met. I was referred to him by my PCP and saw him for elbow pain. He diagnosed tennis/golf elbow (although I don't play tennis or golf) and referred me to physical therapy. After completing PT and continuing my excercises I was still experiencing pain and unable to sleep comfortably and felt the pain numbness had extended down to my thumb/hand. I made a f/u appointment in his Hermosa office. I was told to arrive 15 min early (745 a.m) I arrived early and there was no one in his office til 8. The lab where I waited was actually the nicest friendliest part of the experience. I got called in and told his asst. what was going on including the hand/thumb numbness weakness I was having. Dr. Lim comes in and says are you still in pain? I said yes and he said do you want a shot and I said I'd try anything and he turned and left. I asked what about the pain in my thumb/hand and he said "I'm not looking at your hand" and walked out. His asst came back and I said that he was pretty rude and he said "oh you have to be referred for your hand" Still in shock the dr. comes back in to give me a shot. I asked what was the shot and he said Cortezone and that's about it. Then he walked out. Basically under 3 min total time. So it's been a week and my arm is still numb and I have a huge bruise from the shot and no relief. I am looking to change insurance so I don't have to see him again. I agree with the one star reviews. Terrible bedside manner, didn't give two cents about my injury, barely glanced at the x-rays resulting in him failing to notice a chipped bone in my knuckle caused during the dog bite that dislocated my finger, he took my own splint and bandages off then failed to rewrap the finger so I had to do it myself in my car after left, total jerk. The office manage called after she saw my negative review on google. She scheduled a second appointment with a different doctor the day after I saw Lim. He also failed to notice the chipped bone, said I didn't need physical therapy, and didn't give me any advice on how to proceed with recovery or treatment. If you want a great hand doctor, go see Anthony Ahn in Manhattan Beach. Fabulous staff, warm and friendly doctor, thorough, and reviewed the x-rays and saw the chip in the knuckle. Too late to do anything though because it had already healed improperly. I totally regret not seeing him first. My outcome would have been much better. By the way, the only reason I am writing this today (injury occurred a couple of years ago) is because today someone asked me what happened to my finger when they noticed how crooked and swollen it was (permanently). read more

I went to see Dr Lim because i broke my arm snowboarding. He initially put screws on my humerus to fix the break. After the surgery, i almost saw him monthly and got xrays. Within this time, my arm would click when i put weight on my elbow constantly. I've never broken anything in my life to know that it wasn't normal. 2 months after the initial surgery, I came for my regular check up, told him that my arm is in so much pain and asked why my upper right arm was swollen. He then tells me that a screw fell out and i would need another surgery 2 months after the first one. I asked him why this happened, and he said "You're too strong." Really? I should have sued him for malpractice, and 3 months after lying first surgery, I went through ot again. To add insult to injury, he cut my arm and did not sew it back properly, that I have a pretty ugly scar from the 2 surgeries. I don't let superficial ugly scars bother me, but an arrogant doctor kills me. I almost feel a responsibility that i should have sued him to prevent hilm from doing this to anyone else. Worse doctor I have ever been too. Rude and totally unprofessional.After waiting 6 weeks to see him ,he gave me about 3 minutes. I had a large hand cyst and elbow pain. He looked at my hand and said you need surgery.I asked about the radiating hand to elbow pain and he told me to make another appointment.Don't try and get 2 things in at once and left the room. My appointment was for both.Needless to say I left. I went to Dr. Nicholas Halikas and he was wonderful,looked at both at one appointment and did a fantastic surgery. read more

No, I don't recommend this doctor. He was in a hurry. Didn't check my x-ray nor my chart. My consultation with him last less than 10 minutes. At the end he told me that there was nothing he could do, but the way he said it wasn't polite. No lo recomiendo, todos en ese lugar están apurados, desde el asistente hasta el medico. I was referred to Dr. Lim by my PCP for thumb stiffness/soreness and my research showed some bad reviews. Don't know what changed, but my experience with him and his staff was quite pleasant. Visited in September and staff was friendly and his bedside manner was very nice. He clearly explained my diagnosis (trigger thumb) and treatment options. My only critique was having to fill out mounds of paperwork upon arrival. I would suggest emailing these to patients to complete beforehand to save time. read more

First & last visit ever... Was a follow-up visit for my injured finger; 1st visit was with his PA. Dr. Lim did not introduce himself, did not look at my records from 1st visit, nor my x-rays. Would not look at my injured finger. Did not come within 4 ft. of me. Would not answer my questions. Basically said: nothing to be done. Rep. at check-out desk had nothing to say to me. No rescheduling, nothing. Left shocked. Then I was angry. The next day, I called Torrance Memorial Physician Network Orthopedic and Spine Center & asked for my $65.00 co-pay back.
