Burger (the chubby lane) and onion rings

The food and service was delicious. It was raining lightly but was out that way, so I said what the heck..... My friends and I walked over to the tent with picnic tables to eat. Glad they had that for customers. I enjoyed a burger and onion rings

Taste is great, service is fantastic, price is ehhhhh. For the size of the sundae, the price should be a couple dollars less. If the cup was bigger and more ice cream was in it, then justifiable. Next time, I'll have to try a burger. Food menu looks great.

I like stopping here on the way home some weekends. They're a solid option for exactly what is in the title. Burgers. They have a good selection. The wait time can be a little long but that is because they are making the burgers fresh. My personal favorite at the moment is the, "The Cowhead" which has Cheddar Cheese, Bacon, Onion Rings and BBQ Sauce. Delicious! Andrew's burger shack, better than five guys!

    The "big" burger

Sorry, but nothing special here. Nice location, but it is just a so-so road side burger joint charging 20 for a burger, fries and a shake. I don't like writing less than positive reviews, but I was totally underwhelmed by my experience here. The service reminds me of late summer staff at amusement parks that are just *done*. They have fans on on a way, so they can't hear you. I asked several "odd" questions, like "how big are the burgers?" Which got back a blank stare and a "big." When I asked for more detail the three staffers looked at me and one looked away and laughed. It took a third try for someone behind the grill to come out and tell me they were a third of a pound. This was after asking what the fish was like, and getting a similar song and dance which led me to finding out that the fish was frozen. It was frozen and then put in the frier. This leads to gross mushy fish, so I passed. Another reviewer mentioned to stay away from the fish and they are right. The food was ok!?! The bun on the burger was a nice but quickly collapsed into what you see in my picture. My medium rare burger was cooked well done and thus had no taste or juice. The bbq say sauce tasted like sugar (sweeter than my milk shake). The onion ring was good, but my guess was also put in the frier frozen and disintegrated upon eating it. The tater tots were hot and crispy, but they were doused in salt and were barely eatable. The milk shake was thick but lacked any punch.. for seven dollars, I would expect more.

What you get in a cup

Stopped to get ice cream. Likely the worst we've had. $30 for two cones and two small cups and boy were they small. The cone was average sized but the sprinkles were given like they had to horde them. The cups were actual lids from a shake, not even a cup. Took 15 minutes to get all this and others in front of us were also complaining. I'd avoid this place and it takes a lot for me to say that about a place.

What a find!! We saw how cute it looked so we swung on in. Very Covid safe - hand sanitizers everywhere, and six foot markers all along the front ordering area. 6 picnic tables behind, all spread out with hand sanitizers on them, a gazebo, and a couple swings! We got a chocolate shake, fries, a Shed burger, and a Chubby Lane burger. Everything seems homemade, maybe not the buns, but the burgers were my ideal size - not HUGE and messy. I like a normal sized burger, that you can get your mouth around and not lose all the toppings from! The ratios were perfect, the bun and toppings were on point. The fries were salt and peppered, seemed hand cut, hot and not soggy. Shed sauce on the side for dipping (up charge) - appears mayo based, with some kind of chili/cayenne/mild heat to it. The chocolate shake was probably my least favorite part, as it seems as though they make all the shakes from a vanilla ice cream base. To make vanilla ice cream into a chocolate shake requires a LOT of chocolate syrup, and while I like the front end flavor, the syrupy aftertaste isn't my favorite. That said, it was still pretty good, I'll just get a black and white shake next time! And there WILL be a next time, for sure. I'm not sure if they're year-round, but I hope they make it so I can go next summer! Edited to add: why is Nana's Sweet Tea or whatever it's called $7?! Is it a gallon?! I'm so curious....

We were surprised at the lack of customers when we arrived at 6 PM on a hot and muggy Tuesday. There were a couple of parties on their covered patio, but only one booth in their dining room was filled, and there was no one at the bar or in the cocktail area. This is a shame, especially with the old style jazz music that was playing and the attractive ambiance. And, I'll say right up front that our meal was enjoyable with top level service. From their list of crafted cocktails my wife decided upon a zero proof Elixir, Scarlet Begonias ($14), crafted with Lyre's London Gin, earl grey and butterfly pea flower simple, and lime. It was quite flavorful and beautifully presented. While they didn't offer any draft beer, my eyes immediately focused in on Left Hand Brewing's Milk Stout Nitro ($9) - I hadn't had one in a long time, and its flavors of brown sugar, vanilla, and coffee were still so amazing. One of the highlights of our meal was the Forager Toast ($18) that we had as an appetizer. The lightly toasted and flavorful bread was topped with herbed ricotta, local roasted mushrooms, and arugula greens with an oil drizzle. This was so tasty. For her entrée, my wife chose the Scallops Marrakesh ($32) with a half-dozen large scallops over tomato, garlic, olives, and chickpeas with Moroccan spices on dressed arugula with grilled lemon. While the scallops lacked a more beautiful browning from searing, the dish was otherwise very good. As a side note, the half portion she took home that evening was even more flavorful the following day after all the flavors had more time to meld together. I ordered the Seafood Thai Curry ($36). The mix of mussels, arctic char, scallops, seasonal vegetables, and a very flavorful yellow curry with jasmine rice off to the side, was truly a hit with me. While the spiciness was not too great, it was definitely noticeable and perfect for my palate. I was too full after eating all my Seafood Curry to consider having dessert, but my wife had saved room by planning to bring a portion of her entrée home. Her choice was the Pistachio Tiramisu ($15). Beautifully presented with its ladyfingers soaked in espresso liqueur, mascarpone cream, pistachio glaze, and whipped cream with an espresso dusting, it tasted as good as it looked. She allowed me a taste. Relaxing with cups of freshly brewed coffee at the end of your meal is always a good idea at either Mint location. I believe it may be FTO French Peru from Capital City Roasters.

Likewise, the sauce on the burger was sweet and tangy which elevated the flavor. Similarly, the potato bun was fresh and tasty, but the bottom of it was a bit soggy. It was simply a great burger. In similar fashion, the cheese fries were pretty good. To make clear, the fries were hot, crispy, and flavorful. Furthermore, the cheese was great and really made these fries special. I'm gluten-free, so I choose not to have the potato bun, which is a bummer because it looked amazing. My only gripe is the upcharge for a gluten-free bun. I completely understand paying a bit more for specialty products, but a $3 add-on felt a little steep. It actually kept me from ordering my own burger this time, so I just snagged a bite of my partner's (which was excellent). **I have had the gluten free option before and it was good, but udi's isn't my favorite (doesn't have very clean ingredients). Great tasting burger overall, but I just wish the gluten-free option felt a little more reasonable (or perhaps had a higher quality GF option for the higher price tag).

These days, it feels like every bar has a cocktail menu full of creatively named drinks that require reading a list of ingredients just to figure out what you're ordering. At Governor's Tavern, if you want a gin and tonic, you simply ask for a gin and tonic. The only decision you need to make is which gin you'd like. I'm not much of a cocktail person, but I appreciate that not every place feels the need to reinvent the wheel. The place was packed at lunchtime, but we got lucky and grabbed a pair of seats across from the bar. The server who I quoted was genuinely friendly and welcoming. I ordered a Guinness, but unfortunately the keg had just kicked. She recommended the Samuel Smith chocolate stout instead and even brought me a sample before I committed to taste since I never heard of it, which was a nice touch.
