I had called at roughly 10:20am politely asking if my email had been received, to which she snapped - saying "it's the start of my day, how dare you ask me that when I've barely started my day?!" etc. Don't let the shiny website reel you in. I really do not understand the high reviews on Google. I should've checked Yelp instead.

He has an admin which is helpful so that there is always someone who will get back to you when Zak is unavailable. Cons: He's only been a lawyer for a little over 4 years. He snapped at me because he was having a hard day, presumably, with a different case and then proceeded to become impatient with me after rattling off more legal jargon that I was trying to process into layman's terms. To the point where I had to snap back and tell him NOT to get testy with me. He doesn't know how to explain the legal terminology into plain language. Instead he'll just keep repeating the legal terms and you'll have to look them up later even if you ask him what that means. His flat fee for me and my case with the "discount" was $4200. So he's a quite pricey compared to more experienced lawyers that I had called. You can NEVER go to his office because you have to be "buzzed in" or have an appointment in order for them to let you in. Either way there's ALWAYS a reason given as to why you cannot go to his office. Which made me wonder if the address location was even real or just for website purposes. The biggest CON: Was that my case ended in a wash. Obviously not the legal term, but despite there being no winner or loser, I felt as though I had lost because I had spent a lot of money ($4200) on a lawyer, only for my landlords lawyer to voluntarily dismiss the case because Zak let him know why he was going to lose, leaving me open to my landlord serving me AGAIN. And for me having to spend MORE MONEY on another lawyer. So Zak gets to keep my $4200, gets to go back east on vacation, and my case is "technically" resolved.... Even though it's NOT because I now have the same problem as I did before hiring him! Learn from my very costly lesson: Find yourself a lawyer with more years of experience under their belt. If you do go with Zak, do NOT do a flat fee. Pay by the hour and make sure he gives you an itemized listing of everything he's done with all his time accounted for. Remember: You're hiring a lawyer so you don't have to go to law school just to get justice you deserve.

This was also not an ordinary legal matter. It was a highly contested dual restraining order case with significant personal and professional consequences for me, and the outcome was extremely important. I was the person who originally filed for a restraining order. After my petition was filed, the other party filed a competing restraining order request against me. In my view, the other petition essentially took many of the issues and allegations I had raised, mirrored them back against me, and created a false and misleading narrative portraying me as the wrongdoer. Suddenly, I wasn't just pursuing my own restraining order--I also had to defend myself against serious allegations that I knew were not true. Being an attorney didn't make that easier. In some ways, it made it more difficult. When someone is making false statements about you and your reputation and career are potentially at stake, your instinct is to respond to everything and immediately correct every misrepresentation. This is where David's representation really made a difference. From the beginning, David had a strategy and a plan. He understood that we couldn't simply react to every accusation the other side made. We needed to take control of the narrative, establish the chronology of what actually happened, identify the inconsistencies in the competing petition, organize the evidence, and present the complete story to the court. As a lawyer myself, there were certainly times when I had my own ideas about how we should respond or what we should emphasize. But I also recognized that I was personally invested in the case and needed someone who could remain objective. I trusted David's judgment, followed his guidance, and allowed him to execute the strategy we had developed. That trust paid off. When it came time for the hearing, we were prepared. David was able to cut through what could easily have become a confusing "he said/she said" situation involving two competing restraining order petitions. After David modified the temporary order the other party wanted a 2nd call to speak to David and he persuaded the party to drop their restraining order. Looking back, I have an even greater appreciation for David's strategy. He wasn't concerned with winning every small argument or reacting emotionally to every allegation. He was thinking several steps ahead and positioning the case so that when it mattered most--in front of the judge--we were ready. As a fellow attorney, I understand the difference between simply knowing the law and knowing how to strategically litigate a difficult case. When you're personally involved, however, maintaining that same objectivity becomes incredibly difficult. David provided that objectivity while also understanding just how important the outcome was to me. This case had enormous personal and professional importance to me. I put my trust in David Russomanno's judgment, preparation, and strategy, and he delivered the result we were working toward. As both a client and a fellow attorney, I highly recommend David. If you are dealing with a complicated or highly contested restraining order matter--particularly one involving competing allegations--you want someone who can look beyond the accusations, focus on the evidence, develop a strategy, and effectively present the true story to the court.
