I would NOT recommend this moving company. The move started out well. They arrived on time and initially seemed professional. Unfortunately, things went downhill quickly. First, the movers started putting items on the truck that I had clearly set aside to throw away, including a dryer. After loading things that weren't supposed to be moved, they then told me they were running out of room on the truck. Once we arrived at the new place, the pace became extremely slow. There were four movers, but at times it seemed like only one person was actually going back and forth upstairs and putting furniture back together. I was told they were using a "chain line," but whatever system they were using was not efficient. The move ended up taking two hours longer than expected, which added approximately $500 to my bill. Even worse, they broke my daughter's TV, which she had only owned for about four months. When I tried to file a claim, I repeatedly called and was told that a manager would contact me. I kept speaking with the same person, John, who would act surprised each time that no manager had called me back. Eventually, they stopped answering my calls altogether. As we've continued unpacking, we've discovered another serious issue. The TV stand had been taped closed with belongings inside of it, but when it arrived at the new place, those items were missing and the TV stand was empty. My biggest problem isn't just that things went wrong during the move--it's the company's lack of accountability afterward. Items were damaged, other belongings appear to be missing, my bill increased by hundreds of dollars because of the additional time, and my attempts to resolve the issues have been ignored. Based on my experience, I would not use this company again and cannot recommend them. If something gets damaged or goes missing, don't expect them to make the claims process easy or to take responsibility. read more

BEWARE!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Don't just read my complaint, read all of the others. If you do decide to use them DO NOT SIGN - DO NOT SIGN all of the paperwork they try to get you to sign when they come through your door. Have them send every document they need you to sign at least one week before your moving date. DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING THEY GIVE YOU on the day of the move. They make you feel obligated to sign everything or they're not going to move you. You can't thoroughly read everything they ask you to initialize because you will be too busy directing them. All of those documents are to protect them from being responsible for damaging your items including expensive electronics. On 2/22/24 Move 4 Less sent four movers to move 2 apartments into one house. I scheduled the move with them and paid more for their service because I believed they would take good care of my items. Many things were lost and I do not believe the people working on my move did things efficiently. Only two of them actually did the work because the other two were standing around in the hallway or in the truck. I was told that two people were supposed to be working in each apartment but this is not what they did. This added more time to the job. The price was much higher than the two previous quotes they gave me. DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO HANDLE ANY LARGE FLAT SCREEN TELEVISION ABOVE 40 INCHES. THEY WILL ABSOLUTELY DESTROY IT. They will move it by holding the screen itself which will damage it. I saw them breaking my 75" Sony TV and told them that they were handling it wrong. When I turned on the TV the screen was damaged. Then they referred to something that I don't remember reading, that said they practically didn't have to pay for it. I took the day off and had this planned for over a month. I could have gotten my television damaged for half the price I paid them with another company. I took a lot of time to fill out the inventory list that they wanted. They never once informed me of the several pages of legal documents that I was going to be required to sign when they arrived at my door. ***BEWARE THE 60 cent per pound document!!!!! *** They slip this in on you especially when they know they likely broke something. I've heard horror stories about movers but Move 4 Less did a great job. This was the first time I have hired movers. Edwin and Devin were the guys who actually did the move. They were great to work with and took care not to damage anything, wrapping all the cheap furniture I had in moving blankets. Mover beware! Take pictures of everything including dishes, glasses, furniture, shop equipment, outside of boxes that are numbered and have your name on them, etc. Boxes were repacked after they left the house, desk drawers were dumped out and thrown in boxes. Have them itemize everything in the boxes otherwise they don't acknowledge the loss, five boxes were lost along the way. Save yourself some trouble and print out the claim forms ahead of time to itemize everything so you have proof of the condition. You are supposed to get 24 hrs notice before delivery - we got one hour. If a problem, you are lucky to get a call back in 2 days. Pay attention to invoices for storage because we were sent a statement 2 days after we received our belongings. When you file a claim, you will be told they don't issue the check, but Move4Less does. They don't, they credit the credit card you used for the move. read more

The movers were phenominal and helped me a lot. Unfortunatily, The company estimated 2 hours and told me they doubt it will take longer than that. 5 hours later, I was charged a lot more than quoted. When the company reached out to ask how everything went, I explained to them that they misquoted me. They said that they rectified the situation, so I asked if they would refund me at all. The answer was no, they just made sure estimates were closer to reality, which is a horrible answer for my extra 300 dollars. Again, the movers were great and went above and beyond, but the company reached out for my experience and when I told them how it went they decided not to make it right. read more

For a last minute call they were incredibly nice and took great care of my furniture. They unassembled and re assembled all the items that were to big to move as a whole piece. The crew was over 1.5 hours late and claimed the battery on the truck was ded and needed recharging. It was not that cold of a day. I have a feeling this was not an experienced crew and no one showed up. They arrived with a huge truck for four small items. This crew did not seem to know how to move things - the main item was a couch which they ripped - this was not discovered until after they left. They claimed I waived the moving insurance which was never offered to me as an option. They did not wrap the couch - the truck was filthy and the couch arrived very dusty. The other items were very light RTA desk, bookcase and two small files - they dropped the bookcase off the dolly and also did not seem to secure the items on the truck as they arrived somewhat chipped but I was told I had no ability for a grievance since I did not opt for insurance, an option I was never informed about. The last and final straw was the lack of COVID protection which is noted as guaranteed on the Move for Less website. The mover kept borrowing my pen - not sure he had a pen plus neither of them wore masks. I asked them to please put on their masks but they had none and said I needed to supply them. Fortunately I had extra but they did not wear them correctly. I was desperate to move this office and regret that I used this company when the first contact with the office was problematic. In the end, I am not even sure the two movers who came have had any moving experience because if I did not watch them and warn them they were scratching the door frame or about to break off two sofa legs; I doubt they would have noticed or informed me Find another company and save yourself $$$ and a headache. read more

I was in need of moving help at the last minute for a friend. On a Sunday afternoon, the manager answered all of my questions and got us on the schedule for the next day. On moving day, Ace and his crew were phenomenal. They called and let me know when they were on their way. They took care of everything for us, which was a huge relief. I can't stress enough that you should steer clear of this business. They damaged SEVEN pieces of furniture. Seven. The amount of damage is breathtaking. I have a corner desk that they needed to disassemble. They did not bring any of their own tools but used my tools (they did not ask me if I wanted them to take it apart or if I wanted to do it myself--they just grabbed my tools and went to town on it). They literally ripped the desk apart. I had to use a series of brackets to put it back together. Huge chunks of wood are missing from all these pieces of furniture. But because six of the seven are pressboard, they won't do anything about it. Their contract, which you don't see until they arrive for the move (and so you have no choice but to sign and proceed because what are you going to do at that point when you have to be out of the house?), explicitly excludes pressboard furniture from their damage claims. So if you own anything from Ikea, Wayfair, Target (and who doesn't?) they can do absolutely anything they want with them. The seventh piece of furniture that was damaged is an Amish-built solid oak hope chest, which is now all scratched up. They ask for 30 days to resolve any issue. It has now been nearly 2 months and they are still just telling me they're "looking into it," AND said (direct quote), "I am very confident that a negative review/complaint regarding damages that we are not liable to repair will not help my crusade to get you some sort of compensation." So basically "don't tell other people how terrible we are or we won't do the right thing and resolve this in any way." They also tore up the grass on the public tree lawn across the street from my house when they were trying to back into my driveway (which took them 30 minutes to do--not an abnormally tight driveway by any means, just a normal city driveway on a normal city street--because they obviously have no idea how to drive a moving truck). They said they would come out and take care of that. That was nearly 2 months ago and I'm still waiting. They also took my tools in the truck with them (up in the cab) without telling me, so they'd have them available if needed at the new house. So if they had forgotten them in the cab (which they did do with some of my hardware, which I never received back) I wouldn't have even known about it. Finally, it was raining the day of my move and they did nothing to protect my floors. I had to have the carpets steamed after they left. I understand that they can't do anything about the rain, but to not put anything down to protect my floors was terrible. Oh, and they were late. Look, I get it, pressboard furniture is not the same as solid wood. But some of it is pretty expensive and it's come a long way from the pressboard of the 80s and there is absolutely no excuse for a move of 4 miles to damage SEVEN pieces of furniture, pressboard or not. With one exception, we're not talking cheap $40 bookcases. We're talking beds, filing cabinets, desks, dressers that cost hundreds of dollars each. And we're not talking scratches on the finish. We're talking holes and large (anywhere from 3-6 inches) chunks of wood missing. I've moved a lot of times and I've never experienced anything like this. You're better off hiring the Three Stooges and Laurel & Hardy. read more

I used Move For Less to move my Dad out of his house and into a Senior living community. The movers did arrive 40 minutes late, but once they got there they got busy and did a great job. They were very friendly and helpful and even offered to put stuff in my truck. We had an issue at the apartment building getting into the actual apartment, but they were right there trying to help us and continued to move items into the building so they didn't waste any time. The guys were extremely helpful with moving the furniture around until we had it where we wanted it and very compassionate with my dad knowing how stressful this move was for him. OMG. The guys were SO AWESOME !!! I had 2 16 x 8 foot pods packed with our house stuff. They were able to get everything out of my 2 pods so quickly. They were the best. I am in awe of these guys, this was the most painless moving experience of my entire life. They showed up at my house right on time at 8:30 this morning and I'm sitting down to write this at 11:50 am fully moved in and ready to unpack. They charge by the hour but they moved FAST and were incredibly friendly. Nothing was damaged or lost, and they were able to fit our huge couch through a door nobody expected it to fit through. I'd give negative stars if I could. Here is the deal. I have moved many times, all around OH, to CA, all around the San Fran Bay Area and back to Clev. Then from a storage unit to my new house in Solon. Probably 11-12 times in the last 15 years maybe more. I am NOT new at this. Move For Less had 2 very untrained guys by a head guy that did not care. I had spent months painting and redoing floors to have them scratch up the virgin hallway and bedroom hardwood floors with my furniture but it was too late. My walls were also a mess. Mind you all they did was load it up and unload it. I sent pics and filed a claim. It took months for someone to come out, only to say that they need to find a hardwood specialist to do as the SCRATCHES were TOO BAD AND DEEP. Ashante' said they could not get ahold of anyone to do it on time. I could not find my contractor quick enough and then my mom was diagnosed with ALS and the holidays came which could have been my last with her. Mind you a had a TON of other things to take care of moving and all....Now, I am told that it is too late and my compaint is closed. No one called to warn me to tell me that it was happening nor that it was on a time clock at all - not to mention THEY HELD UP the process for 3 months on their own!! I moved in July, they didnt ask me for help in getting a contractor until Oct. Don't use them, use Northcoast moving, Berea or Two Guys those are all better. I have never had anyone ruin floors, especially now that I am a homeowner! If I had to pay back a landlord for the shotty careless display of moving, I would be out thousands of $$$$. read more

I immediately emailed them about it and they went into some kind of you signed a blank piece of paper mode it's not our responsibility. Offered me no help. Took a week to put me in touch with the driver after constant requests. No apology. Not a penny offered or even sympathy. Insane. I can't imagine a worse experience. I feel bad because the driver and workers were wonderful, but when they made a costly mistake management acted like I was vermin. Life is too short to deal with experiences like this. I have used this company several times. Initially I was a little hesitant because of the name, but they actually did a great job. On the first move one of the movers broke a bookcase. But it was one of those put together yourself things. I wasn't stressing about but was pleasantly surprised when the owner replaced it with a comparable bookcase that he happened to have at his warehouse. #winning On the third move they moved a five bedroom house without a single damage. And even though the move lasted more than 10 hours the guys never seemed to run out of steam. I love this company and will always use them for my moving needs. The movers were great! We were leary because their price was so good compared to other movers. They did require a deposit which was fine, yet they did confirm our appointment the day before. They showed up on time and all 3 of the guys were very pleasant. What pleased us the most was that that the crew worked well together and the manager Bernard spoke to to the workers with such respect , they were very considerate of each other. We have had other movers in the past speak to the helpers very poorly and used profanity towards them which made us totally uncomfortable. We truly appreciated there help! read more

I live in Kent ohio my apartment complex is rehab their buildings I was asked to move. So the company they hired to move us is MOVE 4 LESS! They came to my apartment on Monday before thanksgiving and wasn't suppose to be there but I allowed them to go ahead and move me. They were fast at moving me but they dropped and broke my 47 inch plasma t.v. and the guy said a screw popped out the base but never told me he dropped my t.v. I was do busy helping from the old apartment to the new I didn't notice that it was broken. About an hour after they left I tried to hook the cable up and turn the t.v on and the remote wouldn't work. So I looked for battery to change them and that wasn't the problem so I looked at the corner of my t.v it cracked open. I took pictures called my office complex and also went to show them the pic. I called the company and they sent a claim to my email and I filled it out. I didn't hear anything back from them until 3 weeks later after I contacted them by email then they said YPUR CLAIM WAS DENIED!! Call your manger at your complex! Wow really? That was the only t.v I had. I'm poor I live in low income. I don't have a lot! But I'm getting an attorney and they will replace my t.v. and my pain and suffering because I'm disabled and have eplispy. I'm also going to contact cooperate because they have a big contract it over 200 apartment here they suppose to move. But won't take responsibility for there mistakes. read more

Don't waste your money on the extra valuation insurance! During my free quote I was under the impression the company would fix any damages and the extra valuation insurance was for the replacement of items (full replacement value v. $.60/pound). I had over $3000.00 worth of furniture damaged for them to tell me that their contractor was only going to charge 'roughly $500' to fix it all and that they wouldn't do anything because I had a $500 dollar deductible. The company then proceeded to tell me that I could just handle it all on my own since it was only $500 worth of damage. I would have been better off paying friends to move or a better company who wouldn't have damaged my brand new furniture in the first place. Out of about 15 larger pieces of furniture moved, 11 pieces were damaged and a chunk was taken out of my wall. read more
