quiche lorraine with green salad and carrot salad
    Tina W.

This is one of my absolute favorite spots in the area and always my first stop when I'm in town. I love that there is a new menu everyday and my favorites are brisket and vol au vent! The quiche lorraine is also always a good choice. My favorite sides are the carrot salad and green bean salad but most of the sides come with the same dressing that is creamy, tangy and amazing so they are all really good. You really can't go wrong with dessert but my current favorite is the napoleon. Service is always excellent. They typically have fun decorations and different sweets for every holiday and season you can purchase at the front.

I heard so many great things about this place, but I think the people must not be a chocolate Connoisseur like me. These chocolates did not taste any different than the chocolate in my local grocery store. The only difference was the high price tag and the small amount you get.

To call this a chocolate store, although it is a truly epic one, is doing it an injustice. André's is also a Swiss bakery and cafe that serves delicious cakes, pastries, quiche, coffee, soups, and daily specials for lunch. In the land of mega shopping centers, this store might get a bit lost. Oh, what a shame for you. A world class chocolatier does not drop into your town, ever. Yet here is one of the best on the planet. We make this a destination stop any time that we're in Overland Park. Or Kansas. Or the Midwest. They have a lot of frozen meals, soups, and quiches, to go. Their scratch made soups, on one of your very cold days, is soul satisfyingly joyful. The chocolates are the stars, for sure. Perfect sized, complex, each bite is a whole lot of happiness. Their pastries, cakes, and cookies are also just beyond. Service, likewise, is excellent. Parking is plentiful.

I dream in chocolate. And Andre's is the stuff of my dreams, my heaven. Besides chocolates of every description, some pretty enough to frame, there's all that wonderful pre-dessert stuff they make from scratch, serve and sell to take home, or for you to gift to someone to make their day! You simply cannot go wrong with an edible gift, or a gift card, from André's. So anytime you find yourself thinking "Heck, I just have no idea what to get for Aunt Jane (or Mom or Dad, brother sister, friend, teacher, mentor, etc.). He/she's SO hard to buy for!" go to André's or to https://andreschocolates.com/. Seriously. He/she will be delighted! While writing this (admittedly distracted by thoughts of Rum Balls, Pain au Chocolate, perfectly buttery, flaky croissants, Glacier Tortes, Plum Tarts, and André's incomparable House Salad Dressing), I was thinking how much fun it would be to surprise someone I DON'T particularly like or have just had a little tiff with by taking them a tasty treat from Andre's! It could be the start of world peace!

Tea room pickup lunch with grilled salmon, remoulade, carrot salad, green salad, raspberry iced tea and rumball

I have been a fan of Andre's for about 2 decades now and it seems to be getting better and better for me. I used to have lunch in the tea room with my sisters all the time at the Main St location and am so glad they have one closer to me now to do pick up lunch. This time was grilled salmon with remoulade, it includes 2 sides, choice of dessert and a drink. For the sides, I went with the green salad and carrot side to stay on the leaner side since dessert was also included. I also picked up a bottle of Andre's creamy Oil and Vinegar dressing to have for later. For dessert I opted for my absolute favorite, the rumball. They only have the rum balls at this location on Fridays and it rolls over to Saturday. For my drink I got the unsweetened raspberry iced tea, it was so light and refreshing. During such tough times with covid, I'm glad to see that Andre's is doing their part in setting standards for social distancing and keeping everyone safe but also offering so much to accommodate our needs and wants. I proudly recommend Andre's to my family and friends. Keep up the great work!!!

Since I cannot go to Switzerland and get their sweet goods, my aunt took me to this chocolate/confiserie shop right in town. Their design is very unique in that they have flags of different countries. What caught my eye was the open space with loads and loads of handmade chocolates and sweets! They have truffles, liquor chocolates, nutty chocolates, cookies, bars, cakes - something for everybody there! We decided on an assortment of chocolates! My top 3 was: dark chocolate truffle, pecan cluster and buche (hazelnut and praline). The whiskey one was a little shot of alcohol enclosed in chocolate. It was super strong for my taste, but I brought one home for my dad to try! As for sweets, we got the mailander, matterhorn and swiss chocolate cookie. My favorite was the cookie - it has a creamy base texture with a generous amount of pecans layered on top. I couldn't resist, so I got one filbert soufflé to-go for my sister! It's a chocolate ganache hotdog with a hazelnut meringue bun. All in all, this place is outstanding. I would recommend enjoying these in small amounts and with lots of water!

Disappointed with myself I have not reviewed Andre's before. This has been our dessert/pastry place for years! Love everything about it- the Leawood location is perfect- and the pastries I think are the best!! My favorites are the napoleons(they often run out if you go later in the day :(), lemon tart, the chocolate raspberry- and omg the almond cookies! Basically everything is just great; be it the pastries- the cakes or cookies! The people working there are friendly and welcoming- and it's just a nice place overall! Oh and we do lunch there off and on as well. Whenever we do I have loved whatever I had; we have to check the menu for the day though and make sure there is a choice for me (we don't eat pork). Most recently I had the turkey sandwich- which I think was the cutest (to look at) and yummiest I have ever had. My husband and daughter had the chicken pot pie and mushroom soup- they both liked it! Long story short- if you have somehow have not checked it out- you definitely should!

Chocolate and food taste heavy, not fresh or healthy. I would not recommend this place.

Such a limited menu needs to be a little more varied. There are much better places to get a quick lunch.

The chocolates are okay at best. Prices way too high for what they are. Wouldn't recommend at all.

They had a sour patch kids flavor drink we had to try. We hadn't seen it anywhere else before. One thing about candy shops, they normally have center displays with chewy candies you can buy by the weight. This allows you to try a bunch of different things in one place. This is the option we went with in addition to the sour patch kids soda. The layout is nice and they really do have options I haven't seen other places. The decor pops and it inviting. Everything is clean and seems well taken care of. The employee was very helpful, a little too much since he kept asking us if we had questions, but we were the only patrons in the store. Overall, it was a more unique shop then some of the stores you might shop in, but still commercialized. If you like candy though, its definitely worth a try. Oh.. and the sour patch kids soda was waaaaaay to sweet. It wasn't sour at all. I thought it would be more like flavored lemonade with a sour punch, but that's not a comment on the shop itself.

I love a lot of spots around the metro, but let's be honest, some of them get crazy busy and you end up waiting in line for a while. That's not a dealbreaker, but with a summer of social distancing, it's nice to have a spot like Annedore's that is tucked into the neighborhoods, has outdoor seating, and is never too busy. Their gelato is so good, and the service is friendly as it gets. We've made a tradition of walking up here as a family once a week, and together we've ordered or sampled: Cookies & Cream, Birthday Cake, Mint Chip, Chocolate Chip, Coconut, Strawberry, Berry Sorbet, Vanilla, and Lemon Basil. All are great (not crazy about the birthday cake one my kiddo always gets), the Berry Sorbet and Lemon Basil are standouts on a hot day. Their portions are generous, prices are very fair, the outdoor seating is great, and it's a very clean shop. Oh, and I recently discovered that macarons are delicious, and theirs are some of the best around. They're around $2.50 a pop and well worth it. I cannot recommend this place enough for gelato, macarons, and of course chocolate if that's your thing. Want to skip lines for ice cream (well, gelato) this summer and still support local?
