The only complaint for the tacos would be that the corn tortillas were soggy instead of crispier. The service was super friendly, the server told us her favorites and was very kind. I am sitting on the couch watching some video about a guy that travels the world eating (I wish I were one of these people), and he is trying Kansas City area BBQ. Oh, and this is part 2! I immediately call up my friend David L. (see his Yelp reviews, he's nicer than me) and have him meet me here specifically for the Burnt-end Corndog. I need to let you know that this item is ONLY on the happy hour menu, and of course, we were several hours away from happy hour. But, the staff said "no problem and got it for us anyway! Place is amazing. Enjoy the portion sizes. The burnt ends are so soft and melts in your mouth. The chicken wings garlic Parmesan buffalo are soooo good and not hot at all. The Pitch Sandwich Week Texas Ranger 1/2 price $7.50 (original $15) This is a pretty solid barbecue beef brisket sandwich however, it could use some more pizazz. The cheesy corn on the other hand, no notes. It carries the whole meal and is a must order, maybe it's a midwestern barbecue thing but, cheesy corn has my heart and soul. I'm not sure what charred mayo is but, what I am sure of is it added a much needed creaminess to a sandwich that could pull dry. The other component of this sandwich which makes it rich and wet is the cheese fondue that's added on top, the peppery punch of the pepperjack Is just the right amount of spice. I've come to love the addition of a crispy fried onion on top of just about anything and especially on top of a barbecue sandwich! If anything was missing I feel like it needed more of a pickled element, I would have loved some sort of freshness from a little bit veg (one that wasn't fried) Overall Meat Mitch has got the meat part down to near perfection, as far as a sit down barbecue restaurants go (in the suburbs, on the *scoff* KS side) this is as good as it gets. I love the openness of the restaurant but it can get loud. The most fun thing this places offers is the Whomp popcorn you can purchase and take home that's generously dusted with special seasonings. The con of this place is definitely the prices, they are sit down prices for sure but, the service doesn't always match the price point. Stopped in after hearing about the Burnt ends Corndog, which apparently was not supposed to be an actual menu item but enough people requested it they added for lunch. The staff was amazing and offered to make us one during the dinner time. It was absolutely amazing, one problem is there we only ordered one!!! Their burnt ends are incredible and unique. These may be some of the best in the city. I wouldn't have thought that a year ago but their consistency, uniqueness, and flavor is top notch. I brought a pound down the Arkansas for thanksgiving and they loved them. The great thing about Meat Mitch is that after making an online account for To Go orders I have received multiple $5 off in the last year and it comes in handy when I'm in the area. I have accounts with Joes, Jack Stack, and Q39 and don't get that much off in coupons. Q39 gives me free appetizers but I don't use them. You can choose the traditional dining seating option or sit at the bar. The restaurant was very clean and offers an upscale bbq experience. They have a full menu and all of the meats and sides were delicious. They are a newer bbq restaurant but they are making a name for themselves. With their own personalized sauce and spices. The McDonald's McRib is one of my favorite guilty pleasures. A slab of some sort of meat-like substance warmed up and possibly fried while covered in onions and a cheap generic wannabe barbecue sauce. Hold the pickles. I've always wondered what it would taste like if somebody took it seriously. Now I know. The Meat Mitch Thursday special is the Mitch Rib - the restaurant's grown up take on the fast food delicacy. It's a slow cooked spare rib topped with charred mayo, slaw, pickled onions and jalapeno inside of a sesame hoagie and it's one of the best sandwiches in town. Feel free to add the barbecue sauce of your choice. I like the Char Bar Table Sauce and the super succulent White Sauce, but I don't think there's a wrong answer. All-Star platters are available if you're hungry, but not interested in a sandwich. There's a lot to choose from, so choose wisely. (The burnt ends and the jalapeno-jack sausage are really good.) This is a tough review to write because there were some real highlights along with a few disappointing misses. Starting with the not-so-great: overall, my family wasn't overly impressed. My daughter ordered the stuffed potato with burnt ends, cheese, onion curls, and BBQ butter. On paper it sounded amazing, but the mix of flavors just didn't come together. She ended up picking the toppings off and mostly eating the potato. My son had the smash burger and fries. He said the burger was good, but the fries were oddly sweet and I have to agree. In fact, a lot of the food leaned very sweet, whether it was the sauces or the seasoning. My wife's chicken salad was good, though nothing out of the ordinary. Now for the positives: the ribs! Absolutely fantastic easily some of the best I've had. The pulled pork was also excellent, and the jalapeño sausage had great flavor. The "pig candy" wasn't for me personally (a bit too spicy), but I think plenty of people would love it. My sides were cheese corn and baked beans, both solidg though not quite at the level of KC's legendary spots. Service was friendly and attentive, and I really liked the environment. The outdoor seating with baggo boards was a nice touch, and there's plenty of TV coverage inside for catching a game. Overall, I landed at 4 stars, though if I could, I'd give the food 3.5. It's tasty, but a little heavy-handed with the seasoning and sweetness. While I wouldn't put it in the same tier as Kansas City's top BBQ joints, it's still worth a visit for the ribs alone. read more

Why haven't I dined here earlier? You may have seen their BBQ sauces and rubs in stores, but have you tried their actual restaurant? I went here earlier this year to pick up a brisket sandwich and was taken away by how good it was, so we decided we would want to come back. We recently were able to dine in and sample some of their food items. Our server, Kristen, did a phenomenal job explaining the menu with honest feedback and recommendations, while also being very attentive and funny. The food was so good (the BBQ nachos were our favorite!). We got to try the pulled chicken, chicken wings and burnt ends. Everything was very well done with a nice smoke flavor. Seating inside is plentiful and they also have an outdoor patio for nicer days. The restaurant itself seemed very clean. We will be back to try more. read more

If you don't want slaw, beans, or jalapeños then be prepared for up charges ranging $1-$4 on things like fries or Mac. Oh and don't ask for honey mustard for fries, they don't have it. My 2 meat combo came with only 3 pieces of burnt ends which was definitely a let down but at least the pulled pork was a good sized portion. As a Kansas City native, I have the utmost respect for fine BBQ'd meats and sauce. So when I tell you that Meat Mitch ACED THE TEST without cheating, I mean it! We started with the Cheesy Hog Fries and I was not prepared for the culinary meatsterpiece that was placed before us. It looks like a hot mess but each flavor pops out at you nicely and the fresh jalepeno gives a fresh spice that you need to cut through all the cheese and rich meat. These were STELLAR. Our main was the Pitmaster Platter which could serve 2 famished people as we took home well enough for a 3rd meal. (Could have also been them Hog Fries, ya feel?) All the meats on this player were tender and flavored beautifully but the highlights were the bones, ends and sausage, exclamation on them bones. These are the best ribs I've had in town. And I've had a lot of ribs here in KC but never any I was afraid were gonna drip on my shirt! And I'm not talking sauce. These babies were singing the song of my people and when I say my people, I mean foodies, fatties and BBQ LOVERS! I didn't get any pictures of my meal or experience but this was a 5/5 restaurant for my family and I! I absolutely loved the rib bites for an appetizer and so did my kids (which was shocking to me because they can be picky)! Everyone in our group ordered one of the bbq sandwiches and raved about them. My kids had burgers from the kids menu and it's a really yummy and thin smashburger. Our waiter was very friendly and patient with us and the food was out quick! I was impressed with how much space is inside. Very kid-friendly, fair pricing (the happy hour is legit) and good food. This place REALLY surprised me! I had heard about Meat Mitch a few times, but for whatever reason, thought it was a small, difficult-to-find food truck. When some friends invited us to meet (pun!) them at Meat Mitch, a full-size restaurant in a commercial strip center in Leawood, I was surprised at the scale of the operation! The commercial strip at this corner has massively transformed from what I recall a few years back! Very attractive and upscale-looking, which carried over into the look and feel of this specific restaurant (at least by barbecue standards!). We had a reservation and were seated on time. Our waitress was prompt, attentive, and gracious in managing our medium-sized group! We were at the end of the restaurant that borders the outdoor seating, so we were next to some garage-style doors. Not sure about the rest of the room, but that end was particularly loud on our visit on a busy Saturday, making it a little tough to have conversation more than a few inches apart. The menu here is AWESOME - lots of different options! Many "traditional" items, and a bunch of fun and different approaches to main course and side dishes! Our table ordered many different things, and most of us tried many others' dishes, so I got a pretty good sampling! Almost everything was very good! After this first visit, I would peg this place on par with some of the other premier barbecue joints in KC that have, at least, very decent offerings across the board! My only critique is a very, very common one from me around the "burnt ends" offering. I was, of course, not present at the preparing of said ends, but what ended up on our table did not appear to be "true" burnt ends from the point of the brisket, but rather much leaner cuts from the larger brisket, I suspect. While this is a popular practice around the pay-for-barbecue scene, as a traditionalist, I always hate to see this approach, no matter what it likely means for the bottom line sales of said product. This DID usher in a great reason for me to try their sauce, as I normally wouldn't put sauce on such a rich piece of barbecue. I can absolutely seen why their sauce has won awards! With so much BBQ in Kansas City, I can be overly critical at times because there are so many options when one is not as great as another. So, when I say that Meat Mitch is now one of my favorite BBQ joints around Kansas City, you can understand how good the food here will be. Having only been open since 2021, I recently heard about it and sampled the Naked & Afraid sandwich with a side of their cheesy corn. I LOVED IT!!!! The cheesy corn is now my favorite in the city and the sandwich definitely ranks near the top with the combination of burnt ends and rope sausage with a charred mayo and pepper jack cheese sauce. After my first visit, I was back a mere two weeks later to have that same meal again. I can't wait to go back and try something else on the menu and neither should you. We came here for dinner so that my husband's uncle and aunt, who were visiting from LA, could have some KC bbq. Meat Mitch offers some great happy hour specials until 6pm, including $3 blvd beers and $8 smoked chicken nachos. Our party of 7 sat in the enclosed patio. The only downside I would say are the cowhide stools. While they are cute, we wanted a seat with a back. Our server was great; she answered questions we had about the menu and brought everything out quickly. My husband and his family loved the rib platter, chicken nachos, fried pickles, sticky curly fries (fries tossed in honey), and smoked wings. I didn't like the sticky fries, but everyone else enjoyed them. The portion sizes were generous; the full rack of ribs with two sides was big enough for two people to share. I wasn't too happy with my stuffed baked potato though. I asked for brisket instead of burnt ends; I thought the brisket was fatty, a little dry, and sliced too thick for my liking.
