I stopped in on a Saturday morning. It was busy and there was a line but the wait was not long. I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit and an Americano. The staff were all great and my order was ready very quickly. The Americano was really good, I would get this again. The biscuit sandwich was just ok and I would not get this again. The biscuit was very dry and crumbly. I loved the space and do plan to return. I would recommend this spot to others! read more

As soon as you walk in, the vibe is so inviting and friendly. It's a perfect place to spend a dreary late winter morning (or afternoon!) with a coffee, cocktail, and pastry or sandwich. The service has always been great and fast. It's a quiet place that's good for doing work or reading, even when it's crowded everyone keeps the sound to a minimum. Check your lids!!! My husband's coffee lid was not on securely and it spilled all down the front of him. The girls at the counter just looked at him and went on making drinks. I went to the counter to get a rag and she pulled it out of my hand, and said I will get it in a minute. She proceeded to prepare drinks as I waited. She finally went in the back to get a rag. Super cute cafe! There's many seating options from swings, to outdoor and indoor seating. The staff was super friendly and helpful when we asked questions about menu items. Tried their banana bread latte which tasted just like a slice of banana bread and wasn't too sweet. Their strawberry mist matcha is a good shade of green and not too sweet. Came at 8:30 and they only had bacon egg and cheese biscuits and then their pastry items which was unfortunate but they were still yummy! You can also order wine and alcoholic drinks here as well. When Parisi left this little shopping center in Leawood I wasn't sure I'd have much of a reason to return, aside from visiting some of the restaurants a few times a year. I used to use to meet folks at that Parisi all the time, have meetings, pick up a coffee while on the go, etc. It was just a great spot to have in that area. Outta the Blue Cafe has been open now for a few years, and I can't believe it took me this long to make it over, but when I was meeting someone in this part of town I finally had the perfect opportunity to see what all the buzz was about. First of all, they completely lean into the tropical vibes and even have these rope swing chairs you can sit in if you want to really take your experience to the next level. To me though they honestly looked fairly uncomfortable so I passed on them this time around. I selected one of their seasonal drinks - I think it had coconut in it? It was DIVINE. When I choose to indulge in a specialty coffee I feel like half the time I'm in love and the other half it's a huge let down. This time I was in love, and having great atmosphere, plus an exceptional drink really made me fall for this place. Met a friend for coffee in the morning and was quite surprised with the interior of this coffee shop/bar. The caramel latte and the chia tea were both very tasty, probably the better flavors that we have found in the area this far. We chose not to sit at one of the tables with the rope swing, chair and tables were comfortable and at a good height. There was a good number of people in the place and yet you didn't feel like you have to talk louder in order to hear anyone you were sitting with. So I've been here a couple time now for both coffee and drinks and I have mixed feelings Drinks: I feel like this place is definitely a great place to come to for happy hour since they have a good deal going on, but unfortunately if you're not an alcohol drinker, the happy hour doesn't apply to their coffees. I feel like the price of their alcohol drinks are reasonable but their coffee (I got 16 oz latte) was more on the expensive side compared to other coffee shops in the area. I paid about 8$ for my iced latte. Service: The first time I came here for drinks the service was great and inviting, but the second time I came for coffee the service was not that great. The second time just felt very unwelcoming. Ambience: it's a cute place but I do think the place can be cleaned up a little more. The table I was sitting at had a broken seat, messy counter top, and overall vibe of the space wasn't as welcoming as I thought it would be but it must have just been that particular day! The inside decor is attractive, and the sound level is good. I had the iced oat milk, sugar-free vanilla latte and it was good. My husband had the white mocha hot latte and he enjoyed that as well. He also had their glazed donut that was delicious. The negatives for the three rating was the barista's were not welcoming and impatient. Also, the seating is really terrible there. They have benches against the walls with tables and then chairs on the other side of the tables. The benches are not wide enough for a normal sized person to sit at comfortably. We ended up going outside, which was enjoyable since the weather was nice and the seating outside was comfortable. read more

The pastries and drinks just aren't there, and as much as I appreciate a cute cafe, I can't eat the decor, and I'm here for what I can eat. My first time at Outta the Blue, I ordered an iced matcha latte, and it was very bitter, with no milk or cream to speak of. Even if it was straight matcha, it wasn't a good representation of how beautiful and well-balanced matcha can be. The next few times, I tried various coffees and pastries, but I found them either lacking flavor or too sweet. There wasn't anything here I really wanted to enjoy every bite or sip of.
