As soon as you walk in, the vibe is so inviting and friendly. It's a perfect place to spend a dreary late winter morning (or afternoon!) with a coffee, cocktail, and pastry or sandwich. I ordered the Honey Pistachio Latte which is a seasonal offering, and I absolutely loved the flavor. We also got a cherry pop tart which was just as delicious. I can't wait to come back and try more of their offerings, including their quiches and breakfast sandwiches!

Outta the Blue Cafe was a fun spot! There are swing seats where you can actually sit on a swing while at your table. The crowd ranged from people working on their computers with coffee to groups of friends hanging out drinking cocktails, so there is something for everyone here. For food there was limited options. I enjoyed the biscuit with egg and sausage. The biscuit was incredible, but the egg could've been better.

I was pleasantly surprised to stop in here after an afternoon of ice skating with the whole family. I expected just a coffee shop but they had alcoholic drinks and snacks as well as a welcoming atmosphere. I ordered an espresso martini and although it wasn't very strong, it was delicious. This was a very cute place and I want to come back soon!

Such a fun little cafe! I've gotten both matcha and cocktails here and a baked good! Such a fun place to meet a friend and catch up!

Outta the Blue is the best coffee shop in Johnson County. I've been coming here for years. We mostly get coffee, but their seasonal cocktails are also really good. The service has always been great and fast. It's a quiet place that's good for doing work or reading, even when it's crowded everyone keeps the sound to a minimum. I most recently loved their Halloween takeover.

This place really is an oasis. as soon as you walk in, there is an abundance of greenery and trees at the entrance. along the windows there are swings that sit below a hut-looking piece. you are able to swing while you sip your coffee or chat with friends. along the other side there is a comfy sitting area with a cushion. they have coffee, alcohol, lemonades, bakery items, and breakfast sandwiches. lots of variety! also, they usually have seasonal drinks too!! it is giving beach vibes with the looks and the music. i had a white chocolate and carmel latte which was the perfect amount of sweet and coffee flavor! i highly recommend coming to this place on a weekend and swinging in the swings! such a fun place!

    Love the swings!

Checked out Outta the Blur Cafe for a coffee a treat last weekend. It's adorable in there! It screams summer and chill and I actually got a seat on a swing this time. Perfect place to grab a cup of joe and open up the laptop. I also ordered some protein balls to snack on and they were delish. My iced coffee hit the spot. Love that I could grab a coffee and hang out in the beautiful area outside in that area too.

Super cute cafe! There's many seating options from swings, to outdoor and indoor seating. The staff was super friendly and helpful when we asked questions about menu items. Tried their banana bread latte which tasted just like a slice of banana bread and wasn't too sweet. Their strawberry mist matcha is a good shade of green and not too sweet. Came at 8:30 and they only had bacon egg and cheese biscuits and then their pastry items which was unfortunate but they were still yummy! You can also order wine and alcoholic drinks here as well. Love the ocean theme!

The swings here and the decor are SUCH a fun vibe! This place is perfect for a late night coffee or a cocktail, and I have always received good service here.

I truly can't say enough good things about this place. It has all my favorite things - coffee, cocktails, books, tropical plants, swings. What more could you want?? I visited here more times than I'm proud to admit on a recent visit. Everything is DELICIOUS and the atmosphere elevates the experience.

When Parisi left this little shopping center in Leawood I wasn't sure I'd have much of a reason to return, aside from visiting some of the restaurants a few times a year. I used to use to meet folks at that Parisi all the time, have meetings, pick up a coffee while on the go, etc. It was just a great spot to have in that area. Outta the Blue Cafe has been open now for a few years, and I can't believe it took me this long to make it over, but when I was meeting someone in this part of town I finally had the perfect opportunity to see what all the buzz was about. First of all, they completely lean into the tropical vibes and even have these rope swing chairs you can sit in if you want to really take your experience to the next level. To me though they honestly looked fairly uncomfortable so I passed on them this time around. I selected one of their seasonal drinks - I think it had coconut in it? It was DIVINE. When I choose to indulge in a specialty coffee I feel like half the time I'm in love and the other half it's a huge let down. This time I was in love, and having great atmosphere, plus an exceptional drink really made me fall for this place. Overall this is a charming local cafe that is worth the visit, especially in the summer when you want to feel like you've escaped to a tropical oasis.

Outta the Blue cafe was popping on a Saturday morning. Packed with people enjoying coffees and espresso martinis. A very relaxed vibe with several different seating arrangements from chairs, benches, and swings. A great selection of pastries and coffees. You can enjoy an alcoholic drink or a coffee. A great place to grab coffee while in town center plaza.

I haven't always been a big coffee drinker, but my girlfriend said there used to be a drink called the Hospital Hill. It's essentially the Honeycomb with Cinnamon. Ever since that day, I've been hooked (I prefer it made hot. Absolute game changer). Not only is the coffee good, but the staff is friendly, personable, and helpful which means a lot to me. There's a lot of staff to name, so I'll leave it off this review, but they have all been exemplary and I believe they make this place great. I highly suggest coming here and grabbing yourself a coffee. It's also a nice and relaxing environment to study or do homework. The lighting is dark enough that it's not interfering too much with whatever activity you're doing in the moment. I will definitely be returning here.

The amount I paid for the croissant and how large it appeared, you'd think it was filled with chocolatey goodness--it was disappointing to say the least, to find there were two measly strips inside; hardly worth the $5.75 I paid. The fact it came in an Ibis Bakery bag made me even more sad, thinking a reputable bakery would have lived up to its status. However, it's possible Ibis Bakery no longer has standards--so this part of a negative review is for them. Two stars for the pastry. :( The Roasterie Cafe in Leawood, however, was great! The coffee was delicious and the baristas were amazing. They helped me pick a new whole bean coffee and were friendly. As this was a grab and go effort, the place was busy, but I didn't stay, so as to the ambiance, about what you'd expect from a small cafe. Quaint but kind of packed. :)

After several visits over the years, I've only had their coffee and pastries, not their cafe food. The interior is cute and there's often a queue upon entering to order at the counter, but don't let that intimidate you because it moves fast. I recommend getting some of their water on tap (both still and sparkling water are available) if you have to wait! If you're queer like me, you'll likely be drinking a cold black coffee and they have options! They have a regular cold brew in 3 sizes, a cold brew of the moment / seasonal (ask about it!) and a cold brew shandy for something different. My partner and I got two different cold brews on tap today, the original and the Seasonal Single Origin Honduran one. The single origin Honduran was better, but their original was good too. There's a lot of seating, but it's usually taken up, so I tend to just take my coffee to go. Expect to walk out for around $6ish a cup. Inspired Play Cafe always has nicer wooden Montessori type of toys and learning games. I have typically gone to the Merriam location as it is closer but they are just going to have this location remain open. The owner is very nice and welcoming and she is updating and always rotating items for it to remain fresh for clients. They also have new and cheaper monthly fee which is a great deal. It is a nice atmosphere but they do need to remember to keep the music playlist playing as it is nice to relax to. The only reason I gave this location a 4 was because when I first entered the play area it was a complete disaster. There were only 2 parents at the time but they never picked up after their kids and it was hard to find matching toy items as they were everywhere. This is not typical of the Merriam location so it's probably just an issue today. They might want to suggest to parents to pick up after their child once they leave a specific area. I ended up picking the place up because the parents left and then it was more obvious to my grandson and other kids that came what toys there were available in each area.

I also had a decaf iced latte, which was tasty. Both my mom and I agreed that the food was good and richly flavored. The employee who served us was both nice and knowledgeable, answering any questions we had about food options we weren't familiar with in easy to understand, succinct terms. When I went (mid afternoon on a Tuesday) it was pretty quiet, with one employee in the front and a couple of other patrons seated. There was some pop music in the background on low volume, which I appreciated. Overall the vibe at that time of day on a weekday was very calm. I'm interested in checking out their karaoke, live music, and tea time nights/events in the future. They definitely look like fun ways to spend some time! Ultimately, if you're looking for good, casual European fare, including Eastern European, or even if you're just curious, I absolutely recommend European Market and Cafe.

I recently attended a somewhat fancy Tasting Tea Party" here, which was part delightful and fun,…read moreand part awkward and disappointing. The table setting was lovely, with small vases of roses, and it was a great way to gather with 5 friends for a fun afternoon. They provide tiered towers of small sweet and savory treats, which included a delicious pastry with bits of pear, a slice of tasty cheesecake to top with strawberry jam, salmon with cream cheese rolled in a crepe, and a tasty but crumbly tiny sandwich. Each tower was shared by 2 people with one of everything for each. However, they weren't all "finger food," and some were too messy to pick up, and/or too big to eat in any dainty way in one clean bite! So we had to ask for small plates to put them on, and utensils of some sort...and more napkins, of course! It seemed those kinds of things should' have been provided or anticipated without our having to ask or go get them ourselves. We expected they would serve various teas by pouring a small amount in our individual cups to try, and tell us what kind we were tasting, and then come back in a bit with the next kind to taste as we munched on treats. Instead we got individual teapots, in which we could only choose one flavor to brew, when we all wanted to try them all...it was supposed to be a tasting!! But having 6 pots of unlabeled teas, and not remembering which was what, and everyone wanting to taste all made it unnecessarily complicated. And continually passing 6 different pots of unknown teas back and forth across the table was cumbersome and confusing. We tried to write each type on a napkin and twist them around the teapot handles, but those didn't stick! And if you didn't like one kind, or more, there was nothing to pour the remainder from your cup into in order to try the next. So one of us left the table to ask for a "tea-spittoon" so to speak. A good time was had by all, but it wasn't an event we would want to do again at the European Market and Cafe. It is a fascinating market with a large variety of packaged foods and candies from many countries. It would be very helpful to be multilingual in order to read the labels to know what they are! You can also enjoy a meal in the cafe, and/or carry out some pre-prepared fresh specialty foods, pastries and desserts. But be prepared for a little sticker shock. Then again, I guess that's common everywhere these days!

Now…read morethat we've cleared that up, let's get to the meat and potatoes -- or in this case, chicken and rice. (Don't worry, we'll circle back to the actual meat and potatoes later.) I ordered a large Mango Lassi. It was delicious -- creamy, sweet, and refreshing -- but calling it "large" might be a slight exaggeration. Still, flavor-wise, no complaints. The real reason I chose this restaurant was the Chicken Rice Platter, and to say it delivered would be an understatement. There's a spot in Houston I used to visit just for this exact dish, and this version absolutely blew it out of the park. A solid 10/10. The chicken tasted like it was rotisserie-style, with a beautifully seasoned crust on the outside and juicy, tender white meat inside. It's served over fragrant yellow rice, topped with a rich white sauce, and paired with a fresh cucumber salad on the side. Hands down, my favorite dish of the night. Next up was the Beef Nihari, served with naan and yellow rice, along with the Karachi Chicken Biryani. The Beef Nihari is a thick, deeply seasoned beef stew with generous chunks of fall-apart tender meat. It's hearty, comforting, and packed with flavor. The warm, fluffy, pillowy naan was perfect for soaking up that rich broth. Paired with yellow rice, it makes for a seriously satisfying meal. (Side note: it is oily -- which is traditional and expected -- just a friendly heads up.) The Karachi Chicken Biryani was beautifully spiced, aromatic, and fluffy. Tender chicken thighs and drumsticks were nestled into the rice alongside hearty chunks of potato -- told you we'd get to the meat and potatoes. It has a noticeable kick, but nothing overwhelming. Just bold, well-balanced spice. To finish, I had a large Lemon Mint Virgin Mojito. Extremely refreshing -- crisp citrus and minty cool -- but again, "European large" might be the more accurate description. I placed this as a carry-out order and made the commute to pick it up. The restaurant is located in Overland Park in an area that seems to have several similar establishments, at least from my perspective. Once inside the double doors, you're welcomed into a fairly modern dining space with seating for couples and larger groups, plus a private dining area. There appeared to be a buffet set up -- possibly for Iftar -- which is a thoughtful and convenient touch. I also appreciated the designated prayer area, which was a wonderful detail to see. The host was friendly, and my food was ready in a timely manner. Overall, I was genuinely impressed. Flavor, atmosphere, hospitality -- all on point. Definitely check it out for yourself.
