They offer regular custards, blended custards, "jackhammers" which are blended custards with fudge or something in the center, sundaes, floats, freezes, and milkshakes I had the Texas 2-step which is one of their "jackhammers" that has strawberries blended with the vanilla concrete and hot fudge in the center. It was really good, especially since the strawberries had a lot of flavor. My husband got the BootDaddy which was custard blended with Oreos, caramel, and hot fudge. I liked mind better tbh. They came out really fast. The sign said that they make these every hour, which I guess is good and bad. Andy's Custard in Clearwater is great. You drive through or walk up to the window. There are tables you can eat at. I won a giveaway from Andy's on Instagram and with it also came two coupons for any treats. I picked two banana splits. One had cheesecake bites instead of nuts and the other is as listed on the menu with strawberries and nuts. I also added pineapple to mine. They are tiny but still good. Their menu has a TON of options and I wasn't feeling anything too heavy like a sundae. When I got to the window, I ordered a medium vanilla custard and added Graham cracker and cheesecake. There was a sign that had that + strawberries but again that seemed like a bit much. My order came out quick, not even hitting 5 minutes. I was so excited and the consistency of the custarr looked promising... for me, I hate going somewhere that claims to do frozen custard but it's 0% creamy and tastes exactly like ice cream... Andy's knows how to make a proper frozen custard, similar to what I'm used to getting at the jersey shore. It was creamy and the toppings I chose were not overpowering, complimented it so well. The menu is varied, from plain cones and cups to sundaes to concretes. I have simple taste when it comes to ice cream so it was a hot fudge sundae with vanilla ice cream for me. The custard is super cold, dense and creamy. Just enough hot fudge that there is some for every bite. Service is quick and friendly. The store is bright and clean, with a few outside benches. OMG! This place is great! It's located on the north side of Gulf to Bay just west of the intersection with Belcher. They don't officially open until February 17 but the lights were on so we had to stop in. I would recommend parking and walking up because the menu is huge. On our first visit, we ordered the Ozark Turtle Sundae and the Butter Pecan Concrete. They make their custard fresh and you can taste the difference...really! The best part of these desserts was the roasted pecans. We got the smallest sizes and still the portions were big. Go try them out! read more

Tried out this new custard place, and was largely impressed with the food, but... This is a new building. There is no seating inside--there are several walk-up windows. When you look at the building there is one outside glass door with two good sized (multiple stall) restrooms separated from the employee-only area. Yet, they have put an "employees only" sign on the exterior door and locked it. When you ask, they tell you they have no public restroom. This building was clearly designed to have public restrooms. I believe the city code requires a public restroom if you are serving food. It's not clear why they have made this choice, but it does not seem to be temporary based on the permanent signage. I liked the custard, but the decision to not offer a public restroom--when they clearly could do so--would likely keep me from coming back. There is too much competition in ice cream and custard, and this feels like statement they they don't value their customers enough to clean a restroom. It a new business finding their way. I hope they will choose to do better. read more

From the road, Andy's appears to be giving off a new & exciting vibe. Unfortunately, as we got closer & closer, the vibe collapsed. The building is big with several doors. We tried the doors & everything was locked up at midday. There was one car in the parking lot, so we kept trying to figure it out. There's a large menu board mounted on a sidewalk so we looked at it for awhile. It's definitely pricey. Finally I went up to a bank of large windows just to peer in to see if the place was open. One of the windows was open, & it hit me this is maybe where you order? We stood there 5 minutes, & I even poked my phone in the window to shoot a picture proving no one was working inside. Suddenly another car drove up & went around the side of the building. I walked the perimeter & saw there was a drive through. What a strange place. I peered in the open window again & there was now a single worker making an order for the drive through. Afterward she saw me. Such a big building with only one worker. She came over & I kid you not: her lips moved & I heard nothing. All I could hear was the roar of traffic behind me on Route 60. I asked the worker to speak a little louder & she made a face. She could hear me fine speaking into the silence of her building, but i couldn't hear her speaking outward toward 6 lanes of full on traffic noise. We somehow ordered. The only thing keeping me from giving a higher rating is that sometimes the concretes/jackhammers are served already melting--maybe because of certain toppings or overmixing When the treat cost $8, I don't want it to be given to me half melted, and it's kind of a fatal flaw if the custard cannot survive hot fudge lol. If you like frozen custard and in the area you should check this place out. Andy's is open late which is great for those who like to linger at the beach after the sun sets. The first time here you'll probably notice is how clean it is outside and as you approach the ordering window you'll be hit with the smell of eggs. I was with a big group and we ended up getting the pick 6 pack. It actually worked out cheaper to go this route than ordering 6 individual ones. The custard was fresh and the portions are pretty big (I was able to eat mine twice!). I'd recommend the peanut butter flavor. read more

And whomever thought that putting this place just a block or so from Culver's, where you can get a whole meal and pay $2 less for a larger shake let the franchisee down. $6.50 for a 12 oz "double-double malt" that was supposed to have double the malt but tasted just like a really extra-syrupy too-sweet chocolate shake and came out the window as chocolate soup convinced me never to go back. If the price and quality wasn't enough, their drive-thru has you ordering at the window, then waiting. One...customer...at...a...time. But I was the only one there on a day when I saw lines around the buildings at both DQ (also just up the street) and Culver's. Don't expect this place to last too long. read more
