We like this place's custard and staff onsite! We've been here many times over the years but today I needed to put up my review. 5 stars for the service. Young people in service are undervalued! 5 stars for the Ooey Gooey concrete and Oreo milkshake. 1 star for making a young staff member take orders outside in 9 degree weather tonight! 1 star to not enabling managers to take care of their staff or feeling liked they'd get in trouble for bending the corporate rules; I spoke to the window team member and learned there is an Andy's corporate policy that if there are 3 or more cars in line, the staff are required to go outside to take orders. Please consider the weather and update this unsafe policy! read more

The service was very fast. The order taker was professional, friendly and courteous. This is frozen custard but they call it ice cream for simplicity. This was our first or second visit. The quality if the ingredients is very good. The vanilla ice cream is delicious. I had a hot fudge sundae and it came with a cherry on top. So awesome! My wife had two different flavors on a cone. I love the ice cream but I'm very confused by the size structure of the cones. I remember ordering a vanilla cone previously and it being like a tower of ice cream. Today I ordered a small cone and was asked if I wanted one scoop or two? I don't know why I was asked that as I thought ordering a small was all I had to say. Well we paid $3:39 and the cone I received looked like one baby scoop of ice cream. No longer a tower but rather what it would look like after half eaten. The ice cream here is great, but the service still needs some work. We went through the drive-thru and the total was a couple of dollars and 23 cents. I handed over $10 and got most of the change back. The cashier then asked if I wanted the coins, too. Since it was 77 cents and not a couple of Pennie's I did. Absolutely delicious! A walk up custard shop that couldn't be any more delicious! Out front is a large menu to view while you wait your turn to order at one of the three walk up windows. I am pretty traditional so I ordered a kids size (I promise the kids size is plenty even for an adult) hot fudge sundae with pecans. The vanilla custard was rich and creamy, topped with the right about of hot fudge, sprinkled with fresh roasted pecans, and dawned with two cherries. Even if you don't like pecans, I suggest you get them anyway-they're that good! My pup, Oliver, enjoyed his visit to Andy's with me and scarfed down the "puppy cone" (sample cone) they gave him. This location of Andy's just opened earlier this month. They have one big menu in front and plenty of seating. There's no indoor space so you can choose between picnic tables in the back with no umbrellas yet, benches in the front (which could get a little crowded because it's near the menu), and drive thru. We ordered a custom concrete with pineapple topping and one mint custard bar, which is filled in dark chocolate. I was disappointed there wasn't more pineapple mixed into the concrete. I really didn't taste any pineapple flavor. I recommend having some menus maybe tapped down on the counter at the cashier just so people can have a reference when they order. This will be a great spot in the summer, hopefully some umbrellas will be going into the picnic table as it gets hotter out so people can enjoy their custard outside. The amount of outdoor space and seating they have is a big perk. Overall, the custard doesn't stand out to me right now, at this point I would be more likely to go to Culver's for custard and their creations. read more

Custard was good but the service left me feeling gross. The girl who took our order was leaning against the building and didn't even stand up to did not greet us. She got our order wrong (probably because she couldn't hear me from 10 feet away), and when we received the incorrect order, they then charged me the difference to make the correct one, and then the girl who took our order told the cashier to make us give the incorrect order back. It was just odd, and very off putting. There are better places that make you feel more welcomed. read more

I debated to rate this between a two and three. The custard is very smooth and delicious. But the menu across from where you order is not clear what your options are. Customer service is downright rude and not at all helpful to navigate. My husband ordered a hot fudge sundae with pecans...it came out half melted with pecans missing. When we asked about it we were told pecans was an additional up charge. Well...we got it and the cashier not only short changed me...she then threw my change at me when I asked for it. They just so happened to have key lime pie concrete mixer. The drive thru was busy, but an outside order taker moved the line along briskly. I peeked through the window and saw the employee add a slice of key lime pie to the custard and blend it. A whole slice of fresh key lime pie? Oh yeah! We pulled over and shared a small. I am greedy and would have liked more, though the small was enough for two. Again, I wanted it all, but I am greedy when it's delish. Went to Andy's last night after dinner, and we were pleasantly surprised at the prompt service and delicious custard! They have many pre-selected offerings but also allow you to build a treat yourself. I had the butter pecan concrete mixer and it was heavenly! Their roasted pecans are the perfect pairing with vanilla custard. My only critique, is that this establishment DOES NOT RECYCLE. The entire trash can out front was completely filled with plastic cups. No recycling. SO MUCH WASTE considering they're an establishment where everything is served in plastic. Andy's, while new in town and surrounded by hype, failed to impress me on their offering and execution. I've never been to an Andy's location before so I was eager to give it a try. Frozen custard seems to be very underrepresented in the dessert world, and I honestly cannot remember the last time I had some, so my excitement level was high. However, upon arriving and perusing the menu I was already disappointed. First off, you do you have stand outside to order and eat there. There isn't any indoor seating. This fact I rather enjoy as it has a real old school feels to it. However, they really need to start power-washing the patio/sidewalk area where you queue and sit to eat. It's pretty disgusting. And I get it, frozen desserts drip. But they need to get on top of it as it certainly can affect one's appetite. For the menu, they have a wide selection of options, or so it seems. As soon as you "dig beneath the surface" you realize everything is based off of two flavors and that is all you can get: vanilla or chocolate. Seriously, there are no other flavors. Now, you can possibly get to where you want via toppings being mixed in but if you want a cone it's only those two. And not only that, but if you get a cone you don't get to have ANY toppings. None. They don't do it. You want sprinkles on your cone? Well, they will give them to you on the side...? Also, you want a "banana split"? Sorry, vanilla custard with a banana and some flavored toppings. Maybe it's just me but I find their approach incomprehensible. Perhaps the issue is me and what I ordered. Maybe I needed to try something else. However, if you can't accomplish even the basic option (a custard cone) then what hope is there for something more complicated? Overall, the taste of my vanilla cone was fine but not enough to overcome the bad taste in my mouth that the menu left. My excitement level started high and rapidly degraded from there. But on this (finally) hot summer day, we stopped to try this new ice cream spot! We ordered 2 small vanilla custard cones as to properly authenticate the freshness of the custard and a root beer float. Be advised that It's a dine out facility so be prepared to eat in your car or on a bench. The custard is advertised as made hourly and was quite fresh and creamy! The Price also was very fair- the total was only $10 for the 3 decent sized desserts. We enjoyed looking at the machine cranking out the custard from the large glass windows. Decent ice cream. Chocolate flavor is nice and rich however vanilla flavor seemed to be a bit less vanilla-y. Waffle cone is nice but the 4 times I have been here it has never been fresh or crispy. Stick with the regular cone for the ultimate crunch. read more
