ANDY'S IS DA BOMB!! Hands down the best frozen custard I've had. It's thick, but not heavy. Creamy, but not too rich. I have yet to find a meal that this was not the perfect ending to. My go to favorite is the custom concrete of: Vanilla Custard, Peanut Butter, Oreos, and Cookie Dough. It's basically a Cookie Monster Custard on steroids. If you haven't been to Andy's Frozen Custard by now, you're missing out! I recently went back to Andy's to try their seasonal pumpkin pie concrete and it was just as good as the hype suggested. I usually like to add my own little twist to things so I added Oreos and caramel to it and called it "The Dirty Pumpkin" concrete, and it was delicious. The Oreos and pie crust (tasted like a shortbread cookie) provided a nice crunch, while the pumpkin and caramel together created a rich flavor, that sends you further and further into the holiday spirit with every bite. The concretes- Bootdaddy, triple chocolate, snow monster whatever you try, are all amazing. 1 point off because there are no in-house serving or seats to sit inside the restaurant on this location. We tried Andy's one sunny afternoon last week. We both got a Cherry Bash Concrete but I got mine with a hot fudge jackhammer, which was a hot fudge center throughout the cup. It was fabulous! Only barely makes the cut for 2 stars in my opinion. 2/3 times I have been have resulted in incorrect orders, and you cannot tell until you leave or get home due to driving. Totally disappointed. The boy at the window said he refused to help us at the walk up window and we needed to go through the drive through. We had already waited 10 min to get up to the window and watched others order. We asked if he was joking and he slammed the window in my face. Very disappointed. I had gone with a few friends during their opened hours and we were immediately turned away. However, as we left two customers had gone and both were served. The only thing that could make this place better is more seating outside. It would be nice to enjoy the deliciousness right there. There I was, at the ordering window, feeling like I was in one of those Norman Rockwell paintings. Like everything in the world was just right. I imagined the parking lot full of parked '57 Chevy cars and girls in their poodle skirts coming from a sock hop. If you let it, this place is a mental time machine! I have to say, I am not much of a sweet tooth guy. So for something to keep me coming back, is has to be just right. And the service... fast, attentive, and accurate. Andy's is one of those places with character. It's a destination. I have plenty of ice cream shops in my immediate area but I purposely drive to Andy's for their ice cream. Yes! It's that good! Recently tried this place out with the fam because it's new to the area and we've heard a lot of rave reviews. Everybody just tried the custom vanilla custard with a topping. They said it was good, but nothing extra special or better than other local ice cream places. They have a patio and drivethru which is convenient but no indoor seating so I imagine it will be very uncomfortable in the summertime (hot or long lines). Not sure what the big deal is about custard. Mind you, I have a dairy allergy so I couldn't taste any although I've had my share of delicious ice cream in the past prior to my allergy being known. However with that said, my kids are huge ice cream lovers and are not shy in showing excitement if something is amazing. They ate it and said it was "good", but no better than the ice cream we picked up at Trader Joes currently in our freezer. My husband said it was too sweet. read more

Enjoyed these very much. The only downside is that the concrete custards melt very fast! I loved the buttered pecan. My wife tried the snow monster concrete. The consistency is just spot on. The large crowd outside looked intimidating but service was really fast! I ordered the chocolate concrete and added cookie dough and Oreo. If you have had a frozen yogurt "mix" from Braum's, Andy's custard tastes very similar. The main differences are that Andy's custard is thicker in consistency, and double the price. Damn, what an tragic letdown. We used to live close to the Carrollton location and frequented twice a month--even with our dogs. Then we moved to Chicago for a year. While we were gone, Andy's was in-mind nearly every weekend. So, we finally made it back to Dallas and went to this Grapevine location. It was awful. My fiancée ordered the Boot Daddy which was drowned in WAY TOO MUCH fudge. I ordered the Peach Concrete (seasonal) which consisted of three total peach slices and vanilla custard. Umm...no. It should be a kid's item. And finally, our dogs partook in a sample cone with leaked custard through the bottom. YUP. First time tasting an establishment that focuses only on frozen custard. Went with the Rico Suave Jackhammer and am very pleased with the taste. People may be put off by the thought of a greater percentage of egg yolks in frozen custard but its literally just 1.5%. Anything less and its considered ice cream. Base was very creamy and the roasted pecans..those pecans were the highlight for sure. The hot fudge does not go all the way into the bottom so I'm probably going to swap that for brownies instead next time. You can also order just a slice of pumpkin pie for 79 cents+tax. Every time I visited this location the staff has been fantastic. They are super friendly and very helpful. All of their food products are delicious. I have never once order something I didn't like. Quality is very high and the flavors have good combinations. My only nitpick is the layout of the parking lot. When you go through the drive-through you are forced to make an exit out onto the street. However if you want to just pull over and enjoy your treat you have to do a very difficult right u- turn into the parking lot against the direction of the parking spaces. read more

I am a fan a fan of Andy's Frozen Custard, but somehow this one seemed like a watered down version compared to the other two locations I have been to, Lake Highlands and The Colony. This particular location has all the great flavors and great service that the other ones do, they are just packaged in what seems like a more petite building on a smaller lot. Favorite spot for my kids and I to come for frozen custard. It's located in a great location. Always busy , haven't been inside, I don't think there's places to sit inside, only outside.
