I went to start our car this morning and the key would only go half way in. My husband played around with it and still couldn't get it all the way in. He called Andy's and spoke with Brian who said they had no one available until Monday. However, he took the time to help my husband troubleshoot over the phone. Telling him to try to spray lubricant directly into the ignition. Apparently in the desert you can get a build up. He tried it about 3 or 4 times and voila! Key now glides in and out with ease, as it should. This Company obviously cares more about Customer Service than the mighty $. Wyatt took the time to explain the key fobs. They were able to sync all keys and fobs (which I had purchased online) successfully. They were fast too. About a year ago, my Chevy got stolen, ignition keys for my 2 ski Doo snowmobiles were in it. I took both ignition switches out of snowmobiles (takes about a minute each) and brought em in. 30 minutes and about $30 later, new keys, spares and color matching rings. (Make sure you either get Andy's to order your replacement key or if you buy off Amazon, it MUST have the same FCC ID. If it doesn't have the same FCC ID, doesn't matter if it looks the same and is for the same car, it won't work.) Hands down... only place in town for a key, keychain accessory or anything lock/key related. The gentlemen there are super helpful. Their keys actually work. And today I walked in being a complete jerk (I was irritated with the Honda dealer) and they welcomed me in. (Even knowing I was mad) they helped me with my key and answered all my questions. I learned a lot. And it reminded me why I always say this is the only place to go. They gave me the options of cheap to expensive. Cut me a key. And then quoted me on a key I was told they couldn't cut. Come to find out they could cut it and program it (super affordable by the way) and they handled it with a smile. The first trip there was okay - they were friendly, and the service was quick, but the keys didn't work. So I went back the next day to ask them to try again and was met with a snarky attitude - like it was somehow my fault that the keys didn't work. They did, with some reluctance, make new duplicates of the two keys, but the new keys don't work either. I'm not taking them back for the refund because it's not worth the long drive, and I don't want to deal with the snarky attitude again. I won't be getting any more keys duplicated there. read more

The drive thru was 5 cars deep. I am disabled..so I parked and called Andy's. I told them I was there to pick up key fob. The tech came out to my vehicle so I wouldn't have to sit and overheat. Tech didnt give receipt, told they would email that night, next morning told they so busy didnt have time to email. Tech wanted to take door panels and ignition out even though registration has vin, after disassembling door panel he figured it would be easier to use vin. Duh and much faster as I was on the clock and needed to get back to work myself. Just didnt go smooth at all. read more

A few years back I needed a new key for my lock. I tried a few other chain places, but the keys they made either didn't work or broke rather quickly. A friend told me to try Andy's. If you want your keys to work, don't go to Andy's. I went there a few weeks ago to get 4 copies produced for a commercial key. When I got back to my store, 0 out of 4 worked. None of them. So I went back. With no apology they "fixed" the 4 copies. This time only 1 key worked. I asked them to come fix the issue as I was busy and they refused. Now I have made 3 trips to Andys and I still need to go to another locksmith to get my job done. Absoulelty garbage service , quality of work and unprofessional attitude. Five stars for Andy's Lock & Key! I was having a problem with the ignition lock on my Toyota 4Runner. Having done some research, I knew what the problem was and the best option for fixing it. I called around and got quotes up to 4x higher than Andy's. Two insisted I needed a high-dollar replacement, one told me to go purchase it myself at an auto parts store then bring it to him to install for $200 (yeah, good luck with that pal), and all needed 24-48 hours notice. I called Andy's and they knew exactly what the problem was and the easiest and least expensive way to fix it. I was told to come in anytime. I went in that afternoon and in less than an hour I was on my way and the lock has been trouble-free since. Thanks guys...you rock! read more

I was down to one worn key on my car. You have a worn key and Walmart or Lowes are not going to cut it. You need a locksmith. No hustling or gimmicks. The locksmith worked with my key and made certain the copies worked. Less than $20 for three copies. Perfect. These people know their stuff. Back in the 80s I worked for a locksmith while I was in high school, my advice is to go with a locksmith that has a shop- not just some clown who learned through mail order and just drives around messing up car locks and ignitions doing lock outs. read more

This is my go-to place for any key-issues, and they have been 100% fantastic. I've never had a problem with any of the key duplications that they have done (unlike Home Depot). I also had them re-key my house, and they came out the same day, were quick and professional. Lastly, and most impressive, they essentially had to rebuild my car key. The ignition had chewed it up over time, giving them very little to work with. They kept tweaking it until it worked, which saved me quite a bit of money. The gentleman who came to the house was very rude. He was angry and rushed because he couldn't find the address. He said he drove around for 20 minutes. I do not know why he couldn't find it. The number is painted on the curb and posted by the front door. No other service company has had trouble finding it. I also don't know why he waited 20 minutes to call and tell me he was lost. When he couldn't find it why didn't he call his office or me sooner? The locks were re-keyed and the price seemed reasonable. read more

I lost the keys to two Master padlocks which were keeping the tail gate up on my trailer. I went to Lowes and they recommended a bolt cutter. Unfortunately this product didn't even scratch the surface of the padlocks. I then stopped at Andy's Lock and Key, they were busy but when my turn came up they had the locks open in a matter of minutes. Result I was able to unload my trailer without lifting all the clippings over the tailgate. This is the second time I have had very good service here. I highly recommend. read more

When moving into a new place, one of my first actions to to re-key. Andy's had an employee drive out on site and take care of the process on a Saturday with little trouble. They did a good job on the keys - they didn't scrape in the lock barrels at all - it's nice when they do this right the first time and make sure before they hand you the keys. This business is absolutely fantastic. My car key got jammed in the ignition, leaving me stranded in a supermarket parking lot on a Saturday afternoon. The locksmith that had recently made the ignition key for me made excuses and delayed for more than an hour before finally refusing to respond altogether, AAA said they wouldn't respond to such a call, so I called Andy's Lock and Key. Andy was there within 20 minutes, dismantled the steering column, pulled out the broken lock case (showed me where the piece was broken off), called around to auto-parts stores, found a new lock case for my late-model Saturn, drove over to get it, came back, re-keyed the car, installed the new part and put everything back together. Keep in mind that this process involved several hours on a weekend. After standing out in the afternoon heat for an hour for the original locksmith (who never showed up), and worrying about how much all of this service was going to cost, I was freaking out-- but Andy was totally professional and very reassuring. After all that work-- on a Saturday afternoon when absolutely no one else would come and help me-- he charged me just over $100 for all of his time, expertise, service-- and the new part!! I am recommending Andy's to my friends and family, and posting his business card at work. I'm hoping I never have such an emergency again, but I can assure you-- I am a customer for life. $128 total for mobile response to fix a broken ignition (some dumb kids, most likely, tried to steal my junky little car -- tried to rip the ignition out with a screwdriver!) and the making of a couple of spare keys (was quoted about $120 for the job the day before); the other businesses I got quotes from were up about $150. Only go here if you would like to be ripped off... I called them being 150 miles away and had a trust... After they made the key for our car they stated they "disconnected" the alarm and that's the only way to start the car. After the work was done the car was fine for one day only... After that it did not start and we contacted them they said they did nothing wrong... They never called and said they have special instructions... They just take your money and tell you good luck.
