My friend and I decided to get pedicures. The staff were friendly and very thorough! The facilities were nice, and the pricing was not bad!

I love this nail salon, it is so close to my home and convenient. The technicians are friendly and knowledgeable. There are so many cool options to choose from. For a pedicure there are several options which are delightful such as a mask, a massage and wrapping my legs in hot towels. Cat's eyes are my favorite manicure and I'm trying all the different shades. Currently I'm wearing an iridescent shade of pink that changes colors when I move my hand. I've been trying to find a new nail salon for pedicures. My favorite place closed, & I'm eager to find a similar experience & this was not it for me. I don't want or need fancy nail art--just very basic polish, but I have arthritis & my feet get very dry, so wanted hydration & some pampering with some massaging b/c my toes get kinked up. That part of the experience was very average at best & she didn't massage my toes. I've had some challenges in the past with cuticles being clipped, so I asked if they could please skip that, but she didn't understand me & clipped them anyway. She also wanted to cut my toenails. I asked if she could please just file them, but again, she didn't understand, & clipped the corners on my nails, which can cause ingrown toenails. So was kind of frustrated at that point, but it was a done deal, so just proceeded to try to make the best of the rest of it. The massaging chairs had us laughing b/c I was bouncing from the extreme vibration, so I had to turn it off when she polished my nails or I would have had it all over my feet! She did a nice job polishing them, but it was not the experience I was looking for. Thought it was overpriced for a very typical & average pedicure (I bought the mid-range service) & it was just a one size fits all situation & she didn't either listen or understand my simple requests. She seemed to have one way of doing pedicures, so didn't veer off process. It's what everyone gets whether one wants it or not! Also, my friend requested the basic pedicure, & my service provider insisted she choose the package I had. My friend tried to tell her why she didn't want that, (her skin is sensitive to the scrub, etc) but she said, "You want this one!!!" My friend finally gave up & said fine, but then skipped some things when her nail technician did them, but she was still charged the same as me. read more

Andy did a great job on my nails, I've had so many compliments and they still look amazing 1 week later. I had a really awful experience at a different nail salon, one of my nails was completely gone. Andy is a miracle worker and still managed to make a nail with what was left of my broken nail. This is the second time I've had BK do my nails and I'm soooo happy with them. He listens to my preferences and what I want. But he also gives me his opinion on what would look best also. This was actually the worst my nails have ever looked. I asked for a full acrylic set with shellac and Andy did dip. The shaping was HORRENDOUS To the point where I was practically in tears by the end. Both hands were shaped differently and had different nail sizes. He was flinging the nail pieces he cut off at me, and was really rough when filing. He made really uncomfortable comments about race and about my friends who were also getting their nails done. I have been to many different nail salons around the area and I am so happy I found this place. They are so talented and are very genuine people. They are very upbeat, happy, and hardworking employees! Andy is always making sure all the customers feel comfortable and making them laugh. My nails have never been messed up or anything less than perfect. It is just a great atmosphere to be in. The nail salon is huge and is very nice and super clean! I will never go anywhere else again. Also, I was terrible nail biter for years. A lot of places made me uncomfortable about it and put me down because of that. Andy's made me feel super comfortable when I came to them and they saw my very bitten down nails. They helped me grow them out and were super nice about it. Love this place! read more

Was not painful (and I have sensitive nails and cuticles) asked for coffin nails with a nude to white powder ombre, and I didn't want my natural nails trimmed. No problem! I went (March 27) to get a pedicure and it was overall good. I like that they have a wine menu so I got a glass of moscato! I'm not sure of the woman's name who did my pedicure but she was very good until she cut off a small ingrown toe nail I had but it was more like ripped off. It's the next day and my toe hurts really bad. While it didn't bleed I probably wont come back to get another service unless I want to try a manicure from them. Not bad enough to give 2/5 stars but doesn't really deserve 3/5 either. 2.5/5 is what I would give it if I could! read more

I want to love this place. I will give it another try, but my first experience was a bit underwhelming. Despite having an appointment, I had to wait over 30 minutes for them to start my mani-pedi. How do I know it was more than 30 minutes? Because they put me in a massaging pedicure chair with my feet in the bowl of warm water, and I turned on the massager with a 30 minute timer. The timer ran out, and I restarted it before someone got to me. Not to mention that the water got cold. I should mention that I was offered a selection of beverages when I was seated, which was nice. The gal who did my nails was very nice and did a meticulous job. I feel like the prices are higher than other nail spas in the area: $75 for a pedicure and shellac manicure. They are in a great location, and I'm sure the rent is high for their lease, thus the higher prices. It did seem like everything was clean, also a huge plus. read more

Went here to get my nails done. My nails were not done well at all. When she was cutting my cuticles she ended up cutting five of my fingers in the process. That was the most painful part of the experience. When she put the paint on she got the paint on my cuticles which you aren't supposed to do and she didn't correct her mistake. Now it has been a week and a half since I got my nails done and almost all of them have peeled off. Since they are gel nails they should last to about three weeks. I've had gel nails that last even for three weeks sometimes. My friend on the other hand got acrylics. She picked out her color but she let Andy the guy that was doing her nails pick what design she would have. On two of her fingers one on the right and one on the left he put black nail polish with holographic paper. Those were cool but she didn't want to have black nails she wanted blue. Then on two other nails he put a black stripe in the middle of the nail along with a rhinestone. But she told him that the only thing that she didn't want was a rhinestone because she always takes them off. So she got mad about that. The acrylics also ended up falling off a few days later with very little pressure on them. And now she's having a hard time taking the rest of the nail polish off. I think that this place poorly does nails and need to learn more. I did like how they put my hands in hot wax after and let it cool down and also how they massage my arms. But my experience was sort of unpleasant. read more

UPDATE: This place is not the same as it use to be an it shows. I started getting my nails done here when I was 16 and it was definitely a mistake! The first time I went here everything went smoothly and the girl I got was very good and polite. The last couple times I've gone over the past few years have not gone as good. The older male staff have made many inappropriate sexual comments towards me, a minor who is obviously a minor, as well as rude comments towards people I've brought with. The owner Andy even went so far as to make fun of my 9 year old little sisters appearance. Don't go here if you don't want to be humiliated for mediocre nails. read more

I was visiting Des Moines and a couple of ladies recommended this place. I'm very glad I took them up on their recommendation. Two and a half weeks later my nails and toe nails still look great. I ended up getting a regular pedicure and a gel chrome manicure. It's a really neat look and I've gotten a ton of compliments. Everyone at Andy's nails was so nice. I was there close to closing time, but they still took me without any problems. I was the last customer in the store and saw them cleaning up. They really scrub the place down. I look forward to visit them again next time I'm in DSM. Now I just wish they had one where I live. Thanks! read more

Will never visit this nail salon again. Owner was rushing us even though we had an appointment. We were not happy with the style of the nail of which he took offense too. He yelled and embarrassed us in front of other customers. Told us he felt like a slave when he could see my daughter is clearly part black. I have never been so embarrassed and offended in my life. We left before our nails were complete because he would not stop with the embarrassing comments!! He told my daughter she looked grumpy as soon as we walked in the door. Very friendly. We didn't have an appointment and they seemed busy but they didn't turn us away so I was thankful for that. We didn't have to wait too long either. I would give this place more stars if it was cleaner. We had a gel manicure which means u have to put your hands under a light to dry and harden. They use portable lamps...inside the lamp I could feel a lot of grime and residue of some sorts...I was completely grossed out because not only was I resting my hands in filth but it also had a bad smell. My daughter had said the same thing about hers so I know mine was not the only one. I could not wait to get home and wash my hands with anti bacterial. Yuck. Did not like the way my nails looked at the end so I asked if he could maybe touch them up and he immediately got an attitude criticizing me of insulting him and treating him like a slave!!! Made a scene in front of all the other customers making me look like I disrespected him after he was rude to me. I've been to Andy's twice now. The first time I came on a Sunday with a friend and received a pedicure and got dip on my nails. I was absolutely in love with them and referred them to everyone! (Back in August 2018) today, 9/13/18 I came in at 6:30 with a friend, and my dad to get a pedicure and a manicure (I made the reservation) and received TERRIBLE treatment. I called hours ahead and made sure it was okay to get both and was told it was absolutely fine. When I set my feet in the water, the water wasn't warm, nor lukewarm. My pedicure was extremely rushed, lasting possibly 3-5 minutes and didn't receive the same treatment as my friend did. I mentioned the manicure and was told, "No it's too late I will only paint them". Not only extremely rude, but when I tried to make conversation I received rude treatment and if I asked questions about the owner I received the response "why are you asking me? How would I know?". My toes were done extremely sloppy. When she did my hands, the original color I picked was teal and it looked green on so I told her I would like to pick a different color and if we could change it please, and she goes "well that's the color you picked". Once she did finish, she never checked back with me and my nails were extremely rushed and sloppy. I've never been more upset or disappointed. My homecoming is this weekend and I was so excited to get my nails done to be so disappointed and treated terribly. read more

I myself am a professional in the beauty industry and I am always pleased with my experience here. They are also willing to fix any mistake if you bring it to their attention. Andy did my nails last time I was in. He was quite rude, and I was beyond tired from a day at work. I was pretty specific that I wanted my nails shortened and more tapered, and he was very annoyed when I asked for more of the coffin shape. They were also not well done as they were lumpy in weird areas. Not only did he keep getting up in the middle of doing my nails to do other errands, but when I smudged my nails in the dryer...I felt so uncomfortable letting him know so. The only reason I am giving this business two stars is because of the wonderful receptionist (?) that came by to check on my nails and then repainted the smudged ones. She was very nice and her customer service was great. I had been going to a different owner in a different town for years, and was looking to invest in being a regular at a new salon. I don't think I'll be back, but I'd like to thank that woman for making my experience a lot better. read more

Salon is very clean, trendy, and spacious. Best pedicure I've ever had-- and that was only the basic version. About 35 minutes long, very thorough. Painting was perfect. My manicure, on the other hand, was a different story. All I wanted was a basic manicure. The lady who did my toes also started on my manicure. She stopped midway after missing several spots and only painting one layer. When she left, another gentleman took over. He didn't do much better as he was very distracted and in a hurry. I will give them one more try on the manicure, but will likely do gel next time. Will definitely go back for a pedicure. read more
