My sisters and I had a nail appointment Friday afternoon at 12:30. The vibe was ok. I didn't get offered any to drink like most salons. It was my turn and I had the guy he was a little older. I asked for a a simple design but changed the color from pink to purple. I got my tips dipped instead of acrylic and it turned out HORRIBLE!! My nails are super thick then they slim down towards the nail bed, AND he sliced my pinky open with the hard file , which made it bleed. Needlless to say I did not tip. He was nice and apologetic but the result was not what I wanted. My sister said it looked like heveas practicing on me. IF I go back I will request a different technique. I like this place. I have been to a lot of nail salons and this one is the best. Your experience definitely depends on which tech you get. It's either a hit or miss here, no in between. Que is great and who I usually go to, the only bad experience I had here was with a guy who did my nails. The nails were for my baby shower and he did a horrible job. My nails were really goopy and I went to my shower kind of feeling insecure because my nails were so ugly. He charged me $60 and when I mentioned the chunkiness he said it was because my nails beds are flat which doesn't make any sense, I've never been told this before... The absolute worse nails I have had in a aing time and the customer service was terrible! I told them 3 times I had dip. They insisted it was just a fill. So they did not wrap my nails while I was getting a pedicure. When ask if I wanted my nails cut down. I said, yes but just a little! They cut them down to my skin almost before I could stop them. They also moved me 3 different times to 3 different stations and new people. The lady also ask me 3 different times what shape and I wanted and I kept saying the same shape. I had long, oval nails. So I kept saying oval!! This should not have been hard. I have tried Andy's nails several different times in the past 5 years because I live close. They have disappointed me every time. it's Christmas break and I planned a special day with my granddaughters, ages 6 and 8. The best part of the day was planned for a manicure at Andy's place in Newaygo. We were all excited thinking about how much fun this would be! When we arrived, the girls were soon seated and choosing from all the beautiful polish colors offered. The actual process was completed quickly and we were happy with the results. We headed for my house. I live only a mile from the salon so we were soon back there. Before we arrived, the youngest girl was telling me that the polish on two of her nails had just lifted off in a single piece! Soon the older one was saying the same thing! They both insisted that they had not picked at the polish or tried to remove it in any way. Soon there were more bare nails than polished ones! Long story short, the salon offered to redo them that afternoon. (The girls were less than enthused by then.) When they were finished the second time, they both reported that this time more coats of polish were applied. and felt happy with them. But once again, the polish rolled right off. I called the salon about it and the salon cashier insisted the girls were removing it. I had watched them closely as had their mothers and they were not doing that! Another polish next week was offered. I asked for a refund which was denied. The girls do not want to do it again. I see many good reviews for that business but I must say that I would never take a youngster there again. I will not go there again myself. I cannot recommend them. read more

Brought my daughter to get her nails done. The tech we got was patient w kid but her nail polish "fell off". Like came COMPLETELY off her nails. Within maybe 2 hours one nail was gone, by 7ish most nails were back to no color. Waisted $10.... And I used regular color, not shellac. Done paying $100 to have the shellac fall off of my toes and the dip on my nails shatter. I wanted to love this place.

I needed a place pretty quick for two. It was getting late and the three places I called before I called Andy's wouldn't or couldn't accommodate us. They treated us like royalty and have us drinks. A few things I didn't like... I didn't get my four nails that I always ask for another color. Only two ended up another color!!! But that's always my test. One and only one over the years has ever passed that test. That was in Omaha. But whatever it's not the end of the world. It's just an inconvenience. The next thing two of my nails are so crooked makes my fingers look crazy. But again whatever no big deal. One more thing. I have only ever had square nails. Guess what they are rounded. I love them!!! Never thought that I would. But remember, they accommodated us and the end of a busy day last minute and the price was right!!! We all have moments in our job that people or just us have a rough day. We all have a job to do and at the end of the day. Just make someone happy and be nice! read more

My daughter's & I have been coming to Andy's for over 10 years! I used to love it here!! Andy was wonderful, and always made me feel like a superstar!! He expanded the salon, and added tanning beds, a waxing room, and a lot more tables/chairs!!! Even though he did all the expansions, he tried to keep the cost down. Sad days: Andy decided to the sell the business to one of his employees and to be honest with you! I hate coming here now!!! She is ALWAYS in a bad mood! and when I've tried to talk to her, she ALWAYS says she's fighting with her husband, and we receive terrible service. Its a shame as myself, my daughter's, and their friends, had been loyal customers for years. Monday, July 13th, was the last straw and we will not be back again. We were never greeted, or offered anything to drink. Its very sad Andy's was (6 months ago) the best place to go to get your nails done now I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I have tried & tried, but to be honest, it's not my job to cheer her up, it's hers!! I'm not sure if I will be back, Mya has treated me like it's a privilege to go there, like I'm trash & she wants me to leave right now. There's a few nail techs that we have grown to like. My first pedi in DSM. This place was closest to where I live, and recommended to me. Good selection of polish colors and received service right away. I'm not a fan of the big massage chairs with those foot baths attached, but it was okay (used to a comfy chair with a fresh basin for the foot bath). Didn't see any magazines anywhere. Just a loud movie playing. Not exactly a relaxing experience, but not everyone is looking for that I guess. On the plus side, the place is big, so the ventilation wasn't too bad. Was also offered a bottle of water or soda. Leg massage was included as part of service. However, it was a bit expensive: $30 plus tip. Not sure if this where I'll be going on a regular basis, but would be okay in a pinch. read more

Very rude owner. She will argue with you and stalk you on facebook when you give her shop a bad review. The shop is dirty. They do not use clean tools and brushes. Went for my man's birthday and it was okay coming in.i let my man make the appointment and they had very bad communication and understanding asked before I sat down I need a full set as well as I was getting my pedicure the lady was like okay gel, shellac or dipped I stated gel, but the time my pedicure was down I sat in the chair to get my nails done she literally just did a manicure like I asked for it & charged for it the boss lady there was a disrespectful B and I was pissed tfo which I have never been somewhere that people can disrespect customers and think it's ok, I felt like going back to my old ways but that wouldn't be nice so I just will be the bigger person. I come here with my preteen and have a girl's day. There is always someone there to greet you the minute you walk in the door. You should definitely make an appointment otherwise you'll have to wait. It's pretty big and spacious and seems clean. They also have a little chair for a little girl to have a pedicure. Which I think is very sweet to be able to have a girl day with my little granddaughter. I normally go for a pedicure. I have got acrylic nails hair done 2 times. It doesn't seem like the glue is as good as other places I've been. One time I broke my now and they didn't charge me to replace it. Seems like pretty good customer service to me. I went into Andy's Nails on a Friday afternoon, with no appointment, fully expecting a long wait and being fine with it. What I did not expect was the horrible customer service and piss poor attitude of THE OWNER Andy, himself. When he brought me over to work on my nails, he began taking off the polish I had on them...and then getting up to take care of other customers, eventually saying to me, "You take color off, I'll be back". So, there I was, left taking my own nail polish off, my hands covered in cotton fluff, and him off cooing at babies. When he eventually came back to continue my acrylic process, I can't even tell you how many times he stopped doing my nails do lecture is poor, slave-like employees or get up and paint someone else's nails. On top of that, he made me hold the file machine at one point to take a phone call or something. I understand being busy but, I would've preferred a long wait over the way I was treated there.
