Nice guy. Friendly, approachable. Followed COVID-19 protocol, but no call back. NOTHING! If someone doesn't want to perform work, that's fine. I completely understand that sometimes that happens with contractors. Sometimes you don't have the personnel or the time to take on certain projects. No issue there. However, to leave a family hanging is not very professional. This was an emergency in our eyes and we clearly communicated that. Andy came and left. No call. Nothing. Hate to see it. read more

I googled pluming company's and Andy's had good reviews. Sadly, I didn't see the multiple complaints about them not calling back. I set my appointment, the tech came and found where my leak was coming from. Took my number and name and said he would be calling me for an estimate later that day or the following day. We had a small conversation and he even told me about a retired coworker who took advantage of the elderly. Said he couldn't imagine going to bed at night knowing he did someone dirty. Two days had passed and I didn't get a call from them. So I followed up 3 times from Friday to Tuesday and no return call. So instead of being honest and saying he didn't want to do the job for whatever reason he faked as if he would take care of it. That's some punk sh*t and he's such a loser for being fake. Now I have to waste more time searching and making appointments with other companies to fix my problem. Maybe my job was too small for them and they are just greedy looking for money making jobs! Once again another great job by Andy's. I was able to get a plumber out next-day for a non-emergency. This time John came out to install a dishwasher. He was polite and professional. He was also friendly and upbeat about the work. He cleaned up his own mess which I really appreciate. Some of the other plumbers in the neighborhood seem to think mom is going to do it! If you need a plumber call Andy. I paid $1000 over six months to have a continuing leak in my bathroom repaired. On the third leak i switched fixed plumbers and called Andy. He quickly diagnosed the problem, which was simple, and fixed it for a far lower price, a more than reasonable price. I don't know Andy I only know that if I need a plumber I will only call him, I suggest you do the same. Don't waste your money the way I did! These guys are great! Came out to give me an estimate to replace my vanity, and were able to do the job the following week. It wasn't an emergency so that worked perfectly for me. The plumber that came out to do the work was extremely professional and very nice. He did a fantastic job, and my wife and I are very happy. I had very old plumbing and wasn't up to the task of changing it all out myself. The work did not take long and he cleaned up and took the vanity with him. 10pm on a Monday "flood at the house!". The trusty never touched water heater in my finished basement from 2003 finally popped, in Manayunk. 7am Tuesday onward, calls to (3) different local recommended plumbers and Home Depot's service. Andy was the only one to return my call, could be to the house in an hour, and was there on time. In minutes, had a proper recommendation, answered my random "but what about..." questions, and even told me skip the added warranty. I'm on the road 24/7, and Andy had my old tank out, a new larger tank installed, everything reset, and back to functioning immediately. Terrific service, always responsive, and handled. Also when I was price shopping for a faucet installation, John could not have been nicer, or more honest. He came by, did great work at a reasonable price. Turns out they weren't able to come for 2 days, but they were able to walk us through how to fix it ourselves over the phone (turns out the fuse blew out) and saved us a bunch of time and money. They came and fixed a pipe in our house in September of 2017 and took our card information for payment. We had forgotten or assumed money was taken out of our account for the services. APRIL 2018 (7 months later) Andy's plumbing finally charges our account for the services! Our account overdrafted because we had just paid the mortgage! Horrible business that should not be able to hold onto card information for as long as they did and not charge for services for as long as they did. Horrendous! STAY AWAY!! read more

So I wake up one morning to find that it's a chilly 60 degrees in my house..turns our the heater hasn't kicked on in two days. We had never had any issues with the heater despite it being quite old, so I was unsure of where to turn. I found Andy's on Yelp and decided to give them a call. I called and got the answering service and told them what was going on. The next day (I called on a Sunday) someone called me back and set up to come out only a short couple of hours later. They came out and took a look and called Andy to come out and look. The part we needed was obsolete but Andy managed to find it. The part came in and a couple of days later Andy came back to fix it. I left a message late last night at Andy's Plumbing & Heating because I noticed a wet spot on my kitchen ceiling. Since my kitchen is directly below the bathroom, I figured that there was a leak. John and Freddie called me around a quarter to 9 and arrived less than 20 minutes later. They quickly identified the toilet sealant as the culprit and resealed it in about 20 minutes. They didn't mind me watching and asking questions while they did the job, so I could learn about these things myself. In addition to their responsiveness, professionalism, and reasonable price, they gave me a 2 year warranty in case the toilet leaks again. They cleaned up after themselves and were very friendly. I paid with a check so I'm not sure if they accept credit cards. I would use Andy's Plumbing & Heating again! read more

We have used Andys plumbing 4 or 5 times over the past 4 years or so and have always had pretty good service. We recently needed some work done at a rental property, Andy came out to diagnose the issue, wrote us an estimate and never returned our call (even after 3 attempts to reach him) to schedule the work! Thankfully we were referred to another plumber by a friend of ours and our $1500 would have been bill turned into a $450 bill!!! I cannot comment on their service, so my 1 star rating does not apply to their actual workmanship. What happened was I came home to a wet spot in my kitchen ceiling, directly below the upstairs bathroom. I'm a first time homeowner, I have no clue about any of this stuff. After a quick Yelp search, I called Andy's. My call was routed to an answering service. I was told I'd receive a call shortly. Andy did call me within the hour and I explained what was going on, and he said he would try to squeeze me in the following afternoon. I felt that the problem would be okay until then, but I woke up this morning to a leaking ceiling and a soaked floor. My problem has become a 100% EMERGENCY. I called Andy back, hoping to get an answer to let him know I'm free all day and hoping he could come out. No answer, so I'm like okay I'll just leave a voicemail. Well, his voicemail box is full, I can't leave a message. He tells you to call their main number, so I call it. It doesn't ring, I get a message that the number is out of service. I had to choose another local plumber immediately (I could not wait around hoping for a miraculous call back) and half a day later my leaky problem has been addressed. Sorry we couldn't make it work, Andy's, but communication is key and if I can't get a hold of you, I can't pay you. read more

Here's my experience with Andy's Plumbing. It's a long story but the more i tell you, the better decision you can make and what to expect when you call. So, we've had them do small plumbing jobs for us in the past, ex...leaky or cracked pipes, kitchen sink, inspections, hot water heater, basic plumbing issues, etc... We found, the prices are reasonable, they're fast and that they do pretty good work, WHEN YOU CAN GET THEM TO OUT! We've been calling them and calling them to come out and give us an estimate on what was once a small job, but has now become, in my eyes, an emergency. They came out about 3 months ago to survey the situation and give us an estimate. They said they'd call us back with a quote and from there we would be able to make an appointment. Cause one of the guys were on vacation or they had a graduation or something personal going on...whatever, i figured, I'd have an idea on how much the damage would cost to repair and/or replace our problem in a couple days. Well, IT'S BEEN WEEKS and we haven't heard from them. The last time we heard from them, was when they finally called us back to make an appointment. Never gave us an estimate. So, i took off from work that day because they said they would be here sometime between 1 and 3pm. Welp, they never showed. I was f'n pissed! We keep trying to call them, we always get their voicemail hoping they call back with an estimate and a time they'd be over, but to no avail. Never called me back, never showed up. Either they are "THAT BUSY", they can't do the job or they DON'T WANT to do the job because it's more than what they can handle. My problem was the loyalty i always had with Andy's Plumbing. That was my mistake. And because of my loyalty to Andy's services and his company putting me on the back burner, my problem has become more bigger, more expensive and more damaging. 3 months have now gone by and they STILL haven't got back to me, so we're taking our business elsewhere from now on. My husband called them to come back out and they decided not charge us for the previous work. They gave us a new estimate, which my husband called several times about to schedule.
