This company was hired by a neighbor and they started using multiple chain saws at 5:30am on a Saturday. City ordinance states they cannot start before 7am. They stated they didn't care they woke up our entire family along with everyone else on the block. Very unprofessional and unacceptable with temps. The worst tree service ever. They don't know how to trim trees or care if they hurt other trees in the process of trimming.

Moved into a new home with many large trees, 3 leaning towards house. The trees had not been maintained for at least 10 years and some were indeed potential dangerous, not to mention the mess these trees made every morning! I called Andy's on a Monday to take a look at the trees and to let me know what was needed now and in the future. I received a call back the same day and Andy scheduled to come by the next day. After discussing what was needed with Andy, we decided to remove 3 very large trees (50') from the landlocked back yard and to heavily prune all the others to lift them up and get back to a safe, healthy environment. I was told he could get a crew out the next morning at 7a, and they would be able to complete the work that day. I was very surprised that I could call someone on Monday, have a plan within 24 hours and 1 day after that having the job completed! 72 hours from first call to job completion!! 7 am Wednesday the team arrived and within 30 minutes they were working. A good sized crew where each knew their role and were very polite. Andy had prepared the team so well with the plan that they did not have any questions. Fort the trees that we were removing, Andy's team protected my windows and stone tile so that nothing would be damaged. Within 2 hours the 3 large trees were gone with stumps ground down and the mess cleaned up. By noon, the entire project was complete and the yards were cleaner than before Andy's Tree Service arrived that morning!! There was no upselling, Andy was super friendly and patient with my questions as I am new to Scottsdale, and they asked for no monies until the project was completed satisfactorily. I could not ask for better service, care, and respect for the area in which they were working. Andy's crew did a nice job trimming the trees. Did the standard stuff including trim back from street and trim away from roof. The yard was cleaned and away they went. The business end leaves something to be desired as it took me three calls to even get through until I finally left a message. It seems like the office is just an answering machine. When they called to let me know they were coming the next day, I didn't get much of a chance to respond as their business hours are a bit iffy and of course nobody answers the phone. I paid with a check and then a couple days later Andy sends me an email asking for me to call in and pay. When I mentioned that I paid his crew day of service he replies that he actually didn't check his deposit box. I have been in the Horticulture Field for almost 45 years. I have an extensive background in Arbor Care. I have read the reviews and see that some of you were very unhappy with the work and the unfreindliness of the crews. Today, I was at a store and saw the destruction of many of the trees in the parking lot. I did not know it was Andy's Tree Service until I got closer. I've known Andy since he was a kid. I sent him a photo on how bad the trimming was and called him as well. He did not call me back but chose to try and belittle me through text.That did not work. I guess the bad attitude starts at the top. If you want to see EXTREMELY DRASTIC Tree trimming - his words, ( It can't be called Arbor Care ). Go to the Walmart in Queen Creek. This type of trimming goes against The National Association of Arbor Care. It should not be exceptible no matter what type of instructions you may get. Educate your client. My trees have not been trimmed nor thinned out in a couple of years. Andy's was able to come out to my house and trim four, two of which are quite large. Not only were they extremely thorough and detailed in their work, but they also cleaned up the mess...even the stuff that fell into the neighbor's yard. Contacted the company to get an estimate on some minor tree trimming for my home. They sent a representative to my home to give me estimate which I received by email. $300 was the minimum for their service. Estimate was acceptable to me and I agreed to their service and scheduled the job the following week. 3 days prior to the service date Cindy the representative of the company contacted me and told me they decided they "don't want to do the job" How many companies will give you an estimate to do the job and then pull the carpet out from you before completion... Our HOA contracted Andy's to perform the mandatory annual palm tree trim throughout the neighborhood. So indirectly, via my monthly HOA assessment, I am one of many paying customers. My experience in dealing with the site personnel was similar to another review I read. Overall the crew were not terribly friendly, although it may have been a combination of the weather (it was damn hot), the fact that it was near the end of the work day. Before I could engage one of the workmen, he had already climbed the 1st of 2 trees on my property and cutting off the year's growth. The numerous fronds and flowering spikes were dropping to the area immediately below the tree. Absolutely no regard or consideration was given to the possibility of damaging the landscape/shrubbery immediately below. Since the 2nd tree was close to the street edge, they opted to trim it from their bucket truck, so no climbing was involved. I asked the one and only individual that was clearly fluent in English (the truck driver and presumably the foreman) if he (the trimmer) would please make an effort to avoid dropping the debris on one single decorative palm that was nearby. The response given, was an insincere, "we can try" I pointed out that it would be easy enough to simply direct the debris onto the adjacent lawn area. Additionally I pointed out that the company that trims my backyard palms manages to avoid droping the debris on my nearby flat roof with no difficulty, as an example that my request wasn't unreasonable. His response was, "do you want me to not trim this one and you can pay your guy to do it?" Of course I said no, just try to be careful. Suffice it to say, my request was completely ignored. The driver sat in the shade across the street as the cutting ensued. He did manage to hobble over to his truck to check things out when one of the heavy spikes landed on the cab of his truck. Oh and yes, they did manage to damage a portion of the one and only small decorative palm I specifically requested they avoid. The majority of the debris was collected and the blower dudes blew the remainder into the surrounding planter areas to make the sidewalk look pretty. My assessment is, the foreman dude is a jackass. The crew work hard but are made to be production oriented. There's no personal attention since this is a contract job for an HOA and the individual homeowners are merely an obstacle. Clearly I won't be calling on Andy's Tree Service for any of my tree trimming needs. And of course I will share my experience with the HOA board and property management company for future consideration. read more

Tree trimming and maintenance so easy a cave man can do it? Right? Maybe? Whoa Nelly. Apparently not with Andy's Tree Service! Regular service was not available so an associate recommended Andy's. I was in a pinch. They were local so I tried to make do with Andy's. What they call "Fair Prices" seems to be about 20% above already inflated Scottsdale rates for similar services. I was not shocked when the crew was late. This seems to be the norm in the industry. It would be nice however to get a phone call to let you know they are on their way. The crew was not friendly and I sensed they were overworked. They went right to butchering no small talk. Requests and instructions from the customer were of no interest. In short order they were packing so I asked if they would be cleaning up before leaving? That question was responded to with a nonverbal pissed off look, big huff and the sight of the crew stomping around picking up loose tree debris. Asking if they over trimmed two of our trees only seemed to further annoy the workers. After the crew stormed off we discovered tree debris scattered about the property. Andy's Tree Service advertises "Superior Cleanliness" and left a Superior Mess. This crew seemed rushed and ready to get to the next jobsite. Needless to say this service was less than spectacular. I appreciate hard work but it would be nice if they had a better attitude, demeanor and more concern about cleaning up. Hopefully the two over trimmed trees will survive. read more

I've had several companies come out to take care of a (rather large) tree in the back yard of my house. Andy's Tree Service is by far the BEST company I've worked with in seven years as a homeowner!!! Andy himself came to my house to give me his free estimate. He does this for EVERY customer! This means he has never, and will not in the future, hire anyone to come to your house for your estimate!!! He answered all my questions and explained how he was going to cut certain branches and why. After he stopped by I had an estimate emailed to me within the hour. Needless to say I made an appointment immediately! The only downside is this, I had to wait a week before they had an opening. Really not a bad wait at all and it was certainly worth it. The day of the cutting, two huge trucks rolled up with 3 guys in each truck(!). The first truck held all their gear and the second truck had a chipper-shredder behind it to make sawdust of all my branches! They were done within three hours and they did two other smaller trees as well. Then they raked everything up and took a leaf blower to the back yard and patio. My tree has never looked healthier and my yard looks twice the size it did before. I've had other companies that have done half the work Andy's crew did at TWICE the cost... Never again. I am writing this review to compliment Andy's Tree Service for its willingness to be a good neighbor. They were working up the street for our house and running the shredder continuously (which is VERY loud) even though they were only shredding limbs intermittently as they were bought out front from my neighbor's back yard. After an hour or so, I went out and asked Andy whether it was necessary to run the shredder continuously, and he agreed that it was not. He was willing to turn it off while limbs were gathered and then do them all at once. I appreciated Andy's willingness to be sensitive to the neighbors of his clients. read more

We got an estimate that was fair and it included a recommendation for tree trimming that we declined. Even though a person at the house stated tree removal no trimming. They BUTCHERED the remaining trees. I called and the owner never called back, instead removed the charge for BUTCHERING the remaining trees from the invoice and blamed the office person for the error. read more

He was able to accommodate our schedule and his team did a fabulous job on the tree trimming. I had a giant tree in my backyard that died and branches hanging over a main street. I was given this company's name by a friend. They were wonderful from the very first call to them to the final bill. They arranged for an estimate, a barricade service (to protect the main road), the actual job and terrific cleanup. After a recent storm a branch from a neighbor's laurel oak tree was hanging by a few wooden threads over my drive way, and just over the front end of my pickup. I had already replaced the hood on my truck once this year, I didn't want to shell out more for another hood so soon. I called Andy. He came by the next day. Prompt, courteous, professional in his assessment of my dilemma and the health of the tree. He pointed out good cuts from bad and he noticed that he would need to land the branch softly instead of simply letting the fall where they may and possibly disturb pavers in my drive way. I just called this company today to make an appointment for an estimate. The women who called me back said she was the sister of the Owner Andy. I told her i had my trees trimmed a year ago by a Landscaper and wasn't done very good. She started to berate me telling me Landscaper's don't know what there doing and she went on and on about asking me"am i an Abortist, am i a Landscaper! I thought she was crazy so to not offend her i asked to speak to Andy and she said NO and hung up! I tried calling back and she would not answer. Something is strange with this business! Just wanted to say I have been using Andy's Tree Service the last several years, and every June/July I have my Mesquite trees professionally pruned so not to have to worry about them getting damaged in the Monsoon season. They always look beautiful when they are done and the crew cleans up everything and I have nothing to worry about. I had a huge tree that decided to take over the backyard. The roots were lifting the concrete and the trash dropping off of the tree was killing the pool. Based on Yelp, I called Andy's tree service. They told me they would check out the tree (as well as a smaller one I wanted removed) and send me a price. I mentioned I wouldn't be home and marked the trees with ribbon. They showed up the day they stated and I had a quote by lunch. Never even saw them. The quote was VERY reasonable so I contracted to have the trees removed. I was not going to be home that day either and they stated just leave the gate unlocked. The day of the removal, they showed up, removed the trees, ground the stumps and cleaned up all of the mess. In addition, they saved a cactus that had grown up through the tree and I had asked to try and not damage it. It took extra effort and the cactus is alive and well. In summary: They show up when scheduled, they promptly return phone calls, they communicate step by step what they are going to do, they do the job extremely well and then clean up after themselves. We had Andy's Tree Service trim our mesquite trees last year and I'm definitely calling them back again for this year's trim. The guys at Andy's arrived on time and looked super professional. They took their time deciding exactly how to best and correctly prune our mess of a tree in the back - one that had been trimmed so poorly so many times I didn't even know if it could be saved. (Once it was even horribly topped and not even sawed through but rather it's large branches were simply broken off by some other yahoos). I'm telling you, after Andy's was done our sad mesquite looked like a tree that's been properly cared for it's whole life on the grounds of some upscale shopping plaza! When they were done they sent the trimmings through their giant wood chipper and cleaned up the yard so nicely it looked like our regular gardener had just been there. Over the past year our trees have grown out beautifully and now they're ready for another haircut. It's only Andy's for us from now on. And by the way, Andy's price was the SAME as we paid to have the tree nearly butchered by that other company a couple years ago.
