It's been a while since I have been here! Formerly The Mocha Nut, Anecdote still looks as cute inside and offers the same friendly service. This feels like a coffee shop where they really try to get to know you and ask how your day is going. Tried their salted caramel latte with house made carmel syrup and it's one of the best lattes I have had! I can't wait to go back again and try some of their other house made flavors - there are several.

This was a gem to find and has been my favorite coffee in Indianapolis by far. The baristas are so friendly, welcoming and hard working! The vibe is cool, the syrups are house made and the equipment is top top quality (grinder, espresso machine) but the baristas matter too, and ours nailed it. I had the most delicious cinnamon honey latte and a honey latte. This place is special and I highly recommend it

Wonderful spot! I came here for maybe my second time and they are just a great place for coffee and or a good pastry. The barista was very helpful and helping me find dairyfree options and decide on a drink that was appropriate for me. The vibe is very cute and rustic. I cannot wait to come back here! They have a bathroom. They have ample parking. They have various options that are gluten-free and dairyfree. Not to mention, they have a cooler of drinks for those who maybe aren't "big" on coffee. They have lots of seating for meetings or for working. Make it a stop.

From the moment I entered to when I left then I felt welcomed and at ease! Busy spot, but not too loud. The workers were all super friendly and even asked for me to let them know how I liked my Pumpkin Chai that they recommended when I found they don't serve Matcha. I also got a gluten free pumpkin muffin warmed up which was delicious! Along the high seats at the window were several charging spots for working remotely. If I'm ever this way again then I will stop in!

I had a work meeting here at the suggestion of one of my alumni, I was pleasantly surprised to see how busy it was when I got there. The location is very welcoming and there are different options for seating; you order at the counter and they call you when it is ready, I decided to go with the banana miso latte which was delicious! I didn't think those flavors work work together and they certainly do! It was delicious! I also had some chocolate chip banana bread! All around delicious time! I can't wait to get back here!

Just off the main drag of Southport Road, you'll find the lovely little coffee shop The Mocha Nut. This is one of those places where you can feel the pride of Indy, with local honey and other products for sale. There's lots of tables for a great place to connect with others or get a little remote work in. One thing that I really appreciated about the coffee shop that I don't really see at other coffee shops is a nice large-font menu. I'll admit that I do need to wear my glasses more, but it's something that helps make a place more accessible when you have an easily readable menu. Anyway, I got a lavender lemonade and an oatmeal cream pie. These items came out within a few minutes of ordering. The cream pie was fantastic and reminiscent of the childhood snack but a much more elevated experience with the most luscious frosting filling. The lavender lemonade was also good, I just wasn't expecting it to be carbonated. Value score (cost to food quality/quantity): 5/5 stars. I think this sweet treat duo was around $10 which is about what I'd expect to spend. Mich-Ellen stars (like the Michelin stars, but I'm Ellen and you're reading my yelp review!): 1 star. This is a great spot for locals who enjoy coffee and a cool spot to visit. A place like this is really only for the locals, so that it keeps its charm! I'd recommend coming, and then coming back again!

My go to Coffee Shop is generally Rivet in Westfield since it's closer, but I found myself on the southside today and am happy that I stumbled across Anecdote ! The coffee is clean and has great taste and they make several tasty lattes! The banana miso latte was good and so was the lavender. The sausage egg and cheese biscuit was really fresh. They used fresh ingredients (not frozen like a lot of coffee shops) If you're looking for quality coffee in a super laid back environment on the southside then look no further

The coffee at Mocha Nut is really good. This time I got a Salted Carmel White Mocha per the recommendation of the Barista and man was it good. The barista was amazing and very helpful. This spot is perfect to do homework or just chill with your friends. The overall atmosphere is welcoming and cozy. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a nice and relaxing spot to get coffee.

I stumbled upon this place taking a wrong turn early Saturday morning. It's close to Longs Bakery. It's a very laid back place and for 830am on a Saturday it was hoping. People playing games, chatting or on their laptops. While waiting someone was on a date there meeting. They sell a few items to eat, muffins, and biscuit and egg sandwiches. I didn't eat but will keep that in mind next time. They sell items there like cups, shirts and other things. The service was great, and the lady at the counter was very helpful. They just came out with their holiday drinks so I got the Gingerbread coffee. Very mild and tasty!!

I had a delicious iced vanilla latte and a piece of the chocolate chip banana bread. I've been trying more local coffee shops and will definitely return!!

Several of my coworkers have mentioned Mocha Nut, so when I had a free morning I decided to give it a try. What a wonderful coffee shop! Mocha Nut does everything just right! Great atmosphere, plenty of places to work, good food and great coffee! As it's less than 10 minutes from work, I see myself stopping in on many days where I have a late start!

So I whipped out my trusty sidekick: GOOGLE! (Cue superhero theme music.) I asked Google to find me drinks nearby, and, as always, it came through like the magical genie it is. Five minutes later, I was pulling up to Tiger Sugar, hydration hero, reporting for duty! When I arrived, I scored a parking spot right in front, already winning! Only one person stood between me and my thirst, but let's be real: I'm so indecisive, I probably gave them time to finish their order and contemplate the meaning of life. I circled that menu like a vulture with commitment issues, but thankfully, the super-friendly lady behind the counter came to my rescue and steered me toward the passion fruit black tea. One sip, and it was a full-blown dance party in my mouth. I'm talking conga lines, disco balls, the works! This drink checked every box, though it was a bit on the sweet side, so next time I'll dial it down a notch. Not that I'm adventurous, I'm absolutely ordering the same thing on my next visit. Change is scary, okay? Go check them out. It's worth the drive to the Greenwood area.

I usually order a kids' steamed apple juice and customize it to be warm instead of hot -- and every other store we've visited has always understood exactly what that means. This week, I decided to branch out and try something new for myself -- a grande white mocha with chocolate cold foam and chocolate malt powder. The apple juice was our usual order. Unfortunately, the whole visit left me reconsidering why I came back in the first place. Before my son was born, I boycotted Starbucks for three years. I only came back because this tradition with him felt special. But now I'm seriously thinking about walking away again. First, I was charged an extra $0.50 for chocolate malt powder -- even though they were out of it. No one told me it wasn't available, and no one offered a refund. When I asked, the manager told me I'd have to do it through the app, even though I know the store can handle refunds directly. Second, the apple juice came out steaming hot -- even though it was marked as a kids' drink and customized to be warm. When I politely asked for some ice so my toddler could drink it, the barista responded with a passive-aggressive remark about "there being a toddler option or something" in the app. That's not helpful -- it's condescending. I know how to place an order. Her job is to make it correctly, not comment on it. We still love our Sunday outings -- but if this is the tone and treatment I can expect, there are plenty of other places I can take my son for a treat. A little care and customer service would've made all the difference.
