A true Indianapolis gem. I loved the cranberry orange coffee in the winter menu (have gotten this iced and hot), but looking forward to trying more seasonal menus as they use house made syrups. Great mission, incredible staff, and such a community focused coffee shop. As a mom, this is my favorite coffee shop in Indy because it has a kids corner. My daughter loves playing here (and eating their muffins), but the place is large so there is plenty of room if you don't want to be by the kid corner. They even have a pool table! You can work from here but they do close at 3 pm during the week and noon on Sundays. They offer a neighbor special drip small coffee. Is it a coffee shop? Is it a laundromat? Is it a community center? The answer to all of these questions is: YES. Lincoln Lane Coffee is just one of the arms of Dathouse, a nonprofit that reaches into the Bates-Hendricks neighborhood of Indianapolis. In the building that houses Lincoln Lane Coffee, you will find a small coffee shop, tables with games and books and a pool table, a small laundry room with four washers and four dryers (DAT Laundry), and flyers and pamphlets all over with helpful information about community services. I was most impressed with the laundromat on the premises: I don't think I've ever been in a coffee shop where you can also wash and dry your clothes! I love Indy. This visit, I was only there to get a cup of coffee at the coffee shop, but the kind man working the counter let me know that the laundry room is open to the community on a by-reservation-only basis right now because of the pandemic. They are trying to limit the number of people in the space at one time, because it's so small. Anyway, the coffee is great. I take my coffee black, and it was smooth and not at all bitter. Also, it was $1! You can't beat that. I also got an almond croissant, because they were there in the case and looked great. And they were! The guy warmed it up for me, too. They have a limited number of other pastries and sweet treats available, as well as cold beverages and kombucha in cans. Prior to the pandemic, Dathouse was working on creating a co-working space in the upstairs area above the coffee house. I was told that they're still planning on opening it up to the community, but it might be a little while before it's 100% open. In the meantime, there is free wifi and tables at which to work in their downstairs area. All of the profits of this coffee shop go back into the nonprofit Dathouse, so that they can continue to provide services, jobs and opportunities for the community. Before I left, the man working the counter told me that the building used to be a strip club before it became what it is now. Lincoln Lane is an awesome neighborhood coffee shop in bates-hensrickson. The parking is on the street but super accessible - since it is a neighborhood shop, it's not like a busy shopping center. Spacious interior, with a good amount of seating. Colored pictures from kids who attended the neighborhood festival line the wall on one side, and super soft shirts and other merchandise on the other wall. I've always gotten a lavender latte here, but I assume everything else is good as well! Staff are very friendly. What a hidden gem - or maybe it was only hidden to me?!? A friend wanted to meet for coffee and suggested Lincoln Lane. I'm always up for trying new coffee establishments. Not knowing the story, I was a bit confused as to all the different things that appeared to be happening within this space. It did not take the staff long to give me a complete history of the building, their non-profit and the mission. So much community pride! It is sad that the space is not able to serve in the way it was intended due to COVID. The staff were great! Aside from the history, they were very helpful with helping me decide on a beverage (I wanted so many!). I love that they make their syrups in-house and that the menu was not large and overwhelming. This is definitely one of my new favorite coffee stops in Indy. I was in the area with my toddler and wanted a drink to take to the park with us so I found this place on Yelp. Parking on the street was very accessible and the space itself was amazing. There was a little spot with kids toys and coloring books that my little guy put to use right away. Although my plan was to leave immediately, we stayed for awhile and played. The drink I ordered (an iced honey nut latte) was perfect: delicious flavor and not too sweet and not unreasonably priced at about $5.50. Finally, the staff member who greeted and served us was just amazing. She was so friendly and kind - telling us about the space and even giving me a great drink recommendation since they were out of iced coffee/cold brew. I really am looking forward to coming back here and trying more drinks and treats as well as exploring the rest of the space. read more

I really enjoy finding places that fit their neighborhood, and in this case, are a gathering place for locals. Inside, the folks who volunteer here were all welcoming and upbeat. And the coffee was fresh, tasty, and ready to drink without a long wait to cool. In addition to the coffee, there are some baked goods to grab if you're hungry. And did I mention that a small coffee is only $1? What a deal! The space is simply decorated with a huge dining area/gathering space that has a pool table, a communal table made from a wooden door, and there's a laundry available (I don't know the specifics of that). The maple salted caramel latte was great. The atmosphere is about as laid back as a coffee shop can be, and the staff was great. The hand pie was great and the rosemary biscuit with better was also very good. I wish I could have tried the pumpkin cheesecake muffin, but they had ran out by the time we got there. Another great cup of joe at Lincoln Lane. For only $2.75 a large cup of iced coffee with flavoring and non dairy creamer is such a great deal. It's never too busy and there is free wifi which is why I love coming here for the low key ambiance with no crowds and the ability to focus on work. Adorable, with a cause. How can you resist? I happened upon this little coffee shop on the southside while exploring different ways to get to my new job. When I searched coffee shops on Google maps, Lincoln Lane popped up. It's about three blocks from Garfield Park so it's a perfect stop for your Saturday farmers market coffee run, or any other time. The girl who serve me was very kind and polite, but made me a latte instead of a large coffee. When I looked a little confused about the price I told her what I had originally ordered and she insisted on charging me the coffee price and not to worry about it. Since the coffee house has only been open for a few months (and 1\2 the building is used for kid) the style is not very lavish. But as soon as you walk into the door the staff makes you feel right at home. They are very welcoming and would love to tell you more about the lincoln center. The seating may seem a little limited from the front side of the coffee bar, but there are more open tables behind the bar towards the restroom. Even if you don't stay long, their prices are amazing for the quality of coffee/espresso. A great strong earthy flavor, that after 2 drinks I could feel that caffeine! They also have parking along the lincoln st. side of the building! You need to mix this into your coffee routine! read more

Happy that this little coffee shop is in my soon to be new neighborhood. I've had the chance to stop by a few times already while checking the progress on my new house and so far I've been impressed. They are brewing Calvin Fletcher coffee and you can even get a drip coffee for $1! The coffee shop is in the Lincoln Center, which is the community center for the area and provides things like an after school program. The coffee shop is only open until 3pm for this reason. The interior is pretty basic, but they do have free WiFi and the couple times I've been in it hasn't been crowded. I love that the proceeds go back into the community center.
