I think I just found another hideaway for myself. The repurposed industrial building into a community art space AND coffee shop?! *chefs kiss* P.s. I heard the avocado toast is a gem here. Will grab that next time.

I've been meaning to check out a new coffee place, and after a quick yelp search, normal coffee popped up, and it was very close to work so I had to pop over The service is great! Very friendly folks and when they discovered I worked in the neighborhood, I received the neighborhood discount which I appreciated. I decided on the normal latte with lavender syrup, and the Avocado toast! Both were fresh and delicious, and I am now a big lavender fan! The toast was awesome because it had picked onion and, was spicy! I know I'll become a regular since it's so close, and the prices are great!

I follow Normal Coffee on Instagram but rarely get to the far south side of Indy. I knew I had to make a trip when I saw the post about the strawberry latte. What a fun concept that seemingly popped up everywhere recently. This is definitely the best take on a strawberry latte yet. The whole vibe emanating from this little window inside Tube Factory was so welcoming and cheery. I enjoyed talking to the person helping us as they wore all pink which is honestly goals.

This coffee shop was totally unexpected! I came to the Tube Factory for a Creative Mornings event and discovered that this coffee shop, rather coffee WINDOW, is located in this same space. The name matches the menu as they aspire to do basic drinks well and not stray from that. They therefore have plan coffee, a variety of teas, and an array of baked goods from Amelia's. If there is an event going on in this space, you wouldn't want to just stop to get coffee, but the Tube Factory is usually open to the community and free for co-working, hang-outs, etc, so it's fun to see a cute coffee spot inside. I also loved the neon pink light they have projected in the little coffee shop box behind the window and the person serving up drinks was super nice too.

Normal Coffee is housed within The Tube Factory, and I decided to visit this space for the first time today. I enjoyed it so much that I ended up spending the whole day working here! I started off with the cheese toastie which was absolutely delicious (the honey and cheese worked so well together), and then set up for the workday. The building is spacious with plenty of seating to work at, the wifi was fast, and when I wanted to take breaks, I could go check out the art galleries and displays around the space. They even had a cute program where you could write postcards and they would mail your postcards for free to anywhere in the world. Everyone who worked there was so friendly and they even offered me a free popsicle as I was leaving! You can also come by The Tube Factory to have fun if you don't want to work - they had ping pong, giant Jenga, and checkers outside with lots of outdoor seating too (and a chicken coop!). Highly recommend stopping into Normal Coffee to check out the Tube Factory. It's so important to have community and art spaces like this in Indy!

Inside the Tube Factory, there is a cool new coffee shop. Basically, there is a counter area where you can order Tinker Coffee beverages and get Amelia's pastries at a fair price and be surrounded by all the cool things in the Tube Factory exhibition/art gallery space. If you've been around Indy for any time at all, you know the quality of Tinker and Amelia's. If you haven't been to the Tube Factory for an event or to just look around, bookmark it as something out of the ordinary for you to do. Inside, there is a voluminous space with lots of windows. It is quiet with lots of places to sit. If you need a break from sitting, you can check out the exhibits (free) that are on display. I stopped by and got a self serve drip coffee (immediately drinkable in a NorMal ceramic mug). Note that busing your own plates/paper is expected and is collected by the self serve coffee station. The chocolate pastry was light and flaky and really good! Outside, there are three notable pieces of public art. Totally Pencil by the Big Car Collaborative adorns the west side of this bright purple building. On the east side is Scarab by Jules Muck. On the south side (on one of the garage doors) is an oversize mural of Marguerite Young (a local novelist) by Jules Muck. There is also a dedicated parking lot and live chickens on the campus. If you still aren't convinced you want to make a trip to the near southeast side, plan to swing by neighboring Garfield Park. In particular, stop by to see the new Blake's Garden by the Conservatory. Again, it is free and is such a cool place for bringing kids to learn about growing things. Cool things are happening on South Shelby and the Garfield Park area. Check it out! Review #3059

So here's the thing - this coffee place Is perfect for a lot of people because it's smack dab in the middle of the tube artspace and if you enjoy a wide open workspace with little to no noise and no frills cheap and authentic coffee then look no further. Unfortunately while i enjoyed the coffee I'm a total noisy workspace girl so I don't see myself working here well. However I did enjoy checking out the space and the beautiful art fixtures around the building. It is a whimsical and artistic place to find yourself when all you wanted was a cup of coffee and I appreciate that about this place. I can see myself coming back in the future to look at the art inside and out and I can definitely see this being an excellent space in which to bring bigger groups to work on things given how much seating and availability they seem to have!

Hidden gem that has a new regular! This space is part of Tubefactory Artspace. Normal Coffee is so community oriented which is my jam. It's located in the Garfield Park area. They offer a private parking lot and off street parking. The space has ample seating options from high top tables to couches and outlets. The space is relatively quiet for those wanting to work. Also the space has wonderful natural lighting during the day. They offer gender inclusive restrooms which is always a plus! The prices are super affordable and they feature Tinker Coffee & Amelia's pastries. There is nothing better than local businesses supporting one another. They offer milk alternatives including almond and oat milk. Don't forget to checkout the actual artspace while you're enjoying your coffee. **Make sure to look at their events calendar. They ended up having an event while I was there. They were super accommodating but some advance would have been helpful.

A great, mellow relaxing space. Got hot chocolates and assorted pastries for me and my wife. It was all delicious! It was so good I went back to the counter and bought their last two pastries. Great place to caffeinate and grab a bite. The pastries are from Amelia's Bakery, so they're amazing. Housed inside an art space with two galleries that feature rotating exhibits.

    Sip coffee while appreciating art!

Normal coffee is located within the Tube Factory art space. The industrial atmosphere is decorated with local art!! There's space for laptop work as well. Most importantly...the coffee is delicious! The barista made me a vanilla latte with custom spices to make it very unique- loved it!

Dear reader,…read more Bovaconti Coffee in Fountain Square remains one of my favourite coffee shops, and we stop there whenever we come to town. It is the sort of place that feels special the moment you walk in. A lot of people rave about the beautiful space, and quite right too. The shop has a gorgeous, old-world feel in a historic Fountain Square building, plenty of seating, and a lovely outdoor area that is very dog friendly. The staff always boast a delightful disposition that makes you want to smile and enjoy the rest of your day as well. As for the coffee, I love the iced Mayan Mocha. It is like a mocha with a kick and extra flavour depth, and it is absolutely delicious. The dark chocolate, honey, cinnamon, and cayenne give it a little warmth and complexity without losing the joy of a proper iced coffee treat. They also have some really high-end pastries to choose from. I love the lemon loaf, and some of the more complex, unique pastries make it feel a bit more elevated than the average coffee stop. Overall, it is clean, beautiful, welcoming, and always worth the return visit.

It is a bit challenging to find parking but there are a few spots in front. I parked down the street and walked which is always an option. It can be quite loud so keep that in mind if you want a quieter reflection time, and maybe take it to go or sit outside. They have various food items but I absolutely LOVE their peanut butter energy balls! In fact that is why I came to this location as this is where the magic happens. They make them here and send them to other Tinker locations! They are the perfect blend of savory and a tad sweet and go super well with their coffee and/or London Fog tea. Yum! I will freely admit to buying all they had on hand, and now can enjoy them at home. Yay! It is a very busy spot so not the friendliest of staff, but assumed they were already hassled from the morning. It was a great spot to meet a friend and enjoy the patio and some tea/coffee. I would for sure go back and even bring a friend! In fact I've already mentioned it to several people as a potential meet up spot! Definitely something to enjoy!

Unfortunately the service is very hit or miss…read more The last time I went in which was in the late afternoon last Saturday, the barista was great! I ordered an iced latte with oat milk. I also ordered a lemon mint refresher, but they were out of mint so it would just be a lemonade. That was fine and I appreciated how she handled the situation and that she knew what Prufrock did and did not have in stock! She was great at communicating when I walked in that she needed a few minutes and then would be able to help me too. Another time I went with my parents on a late morning Saturday. My mom and I both loved our drinks, but we knew what to order. There were multiple people working behind the counter, but the barista taking orders was not friendly or very helpful on this particular day. My dad did not know what to order and asked what tea is refreshing and is one that the barista would recommend. The barista said that the green tea is really popular, but did not ask whether he wanted it hot or iced or give a recommendation for that. The tea came out hot on a hot day where we planning to walk the Monon and check out other local businesses. To be fair, I did ask him if he wanted me to ask for the drink to be remade or to get him a new one as I had overheard his order and also assumed it would be coming out iced. He said it was fine (but then complained on our walk). This was a bit disappointing. There have been times I have walked out after a few minutes of no acknowledgement from baristas here. It is not a cafe that I would want to sit in and work in as a lot of the space does not look workable. The last time I did come in with papers I planned to read in between appointments, I did not want to put my bag on the floor or my papers on a table because both were dirty. The book page wall has seen better days and would benefit from a revamp. I love the outdoor area though and the can tops are really cool. There is a lot of potential here, but when staff appears like they do not want to be there it makes customers not want to be there either. I would also urge the owners to be more receptive to criticism. The TikTok videos about Prufrock did not influence my review, but it did encourage me to leave my own review based on my own experiences.
