Exactly my kinda scene. If you're me and you see a parlor that looks like your high school friend's grandma's basement (in the best way, with kitschy decorations and comfy second hand couches) and they're selling all kinds of strange brews, you go in there, my friend. This place reminds me of a more chemically responsible version of one of my favorite bars back home in Philly, Tattooed Mom's. Same vibe, just serving uppers during the day instead of depressants in the evening and nighttime. Anyway, the service is great, as is the coffee. What more can you want? Okay, fine, "drink-on-premise" mugs would be nice. But I'm not too cool for a standard paper coffee cup. And honestly, it's the vibe. read more

This place rocks! Look at the community in the picture, ya'll! It's like it's straight out of a 90s sitcom. There is a really chill and friendly vibe even when it is this busy. I am new to the coffee game so I asked (and please don't hate me for how basic this question is) but what is the closest thing to a Dunkin iced coffee and they recommended iced latte. It was great! A little heavy for my liking but something tells me they use more authentic sweetener's than what's in Dunkin. That is just a hunch though. Great local coffee spot. read more

I don't like coffee but am on a mission to find coffee that I do like! Strange Brew was suggested to me and I was told to order the cinnamon mocha latte. I had never been in here before but it's really fun inside! The decor is funky, the staff was nice and they have seating id you want to hang out for a while. My drink tasted like Christmas! And not at all like coffee. Think chocolate milk with cinnamon and whip. I thought it was pretty good and liked that I couldn't taste any coffee. I would go back to try some other flavors but this was an enjoyable drink that would be a treat for me and not necessarily a daily coffee order. read more

The southwest corridor along IN-37 is a donut desert. So, I was glad to find Strange Brew, which has assorted pastries and was highly rated by other Yelpers. Strange Brew is an unassuming locally owned coffee shop in strip mall about a mile east of IN-37. When we walked inside, the shop was bustling. Most tables and comfy seating were filled with mid morning coffee drinkers laughing and talking. This place, with a boho vibe, is popular. Art by local artists hangs on the walls. They roast their own coffee. Zombie Defense, Sticky Bun and Southern Pecan are just a few of the blends that the offer. They carry huge fresh muffins and vegan breakfast burritos. I got the vegan breakfast burrito, which is a small burrito but it is packed with flavor. Most notably, mushrooms and tomatoes. The burrito was really good, says this meat eater. And it was filling. My husband had the Blueberry Crumble Muffin which was delicious and huge. Blueberries were the star. They are somewhat messy to eat. You order at the counter and then wait for your name to be called. Crystal was our friendly and efficient server. She warmed my burrito. They do a robust carry out service. The shop is loud with energy, so don't expect to do a phone conference. Parking is limited too. I recommend and will be trying the coffee next pass. read more

We left the highway to find an independent coffee shop that deserved our money more and found Strange Brew. The coffeehouse was definitely the place to be the day before Thanksgiving. It is eclectic just like the group we were traveling with! I had a chai latte with coconut milk, but one member of our group just wanted a muffin and nothing to drink! The chai was great. Another one of use got an earl grey tea, another got a mango smoothie, and the last got a caramel drizzle. Delish! We'll be back the next time we are driving down I69! read more

Love it! Much bigger inside than I anticipated with plenty of seating. Great option to work from! Lots of flavor options, fall selections, sugar free options, etc. the muffins also looked super yummy but I'll save that for next time! On a sunny Saturday morning this place was hopping! With time to kill before a soccer game we stopped in to relax and fuel up. A local favorite coffee shop! Strange Brew has been a regular spot for a few years now. My personal favorite expresso drink is likely Black Forest, as it's a good balance of sweet and strong. A variety of other beverages and food items are served too. An expresso & bagel sandwich make for a good, light meal! The baristas are cheerful, ready to serve, and a couple of them at least appear to have an appreciation of geek culture. Coming in wearing a shirt referencing TV, video gaming, or anything pop culture will likely yield positive remarks from the servers! Much of the art displayed is bright & colorful, with some pop culture references in at least a few cases. The interior overall has a hip, energetic style & feel. An easy five stars! read more

I am not a huge foo foo coffee drinker, but I was celebrating my self imposed 'treat yourself, don't cheat yourself" day and said what the heck. This place is located in a small strip mall with a private parking lot. It is a local business that is not affiliated with any big chain. Whereas most coffee shops lounge areas are like an office space, this place is like a living room. It is dim, and more of a lounge They have some COVID precautions in place too. You cannot go up to the counter. You place your order about 20 feet away, where they have a table with plexiglass set up. The woman that helped me was so very friendly, helpful and courteous. I just asked for the sweetest hot drink they had. She suggested the White Chocolate Caramel. Sounded delicious, so I said lets go with it. They prepare they drinks very fast. I got min in less than 5 minutes. It was delicious and the perfect temperature. It was hot, but not too hot where, I could not drink it. I really liked this coffee shop, it is a change of pace from the big chains. They have very good drinks, reasonable prices friendly staff and has a lounge with a smooth/chill vibe. Interesting and fun setting. A quirky atmosphere kind of like a Friends meets Wednesday Adams vibe The walls are adorned with loads of great artwork offered for sale, and lovely, comfy seating. Very nice and helpful staff. The coffee!!!! Yum! As I was sitting in a wonderful squishy arm chair I noticed numerous customers coming in to buy the prepackaged coffee beans. (They will grind it for you if you prefer.) I bought the Holiday Grog blend to take home. While I was there, I had a latte with sugar free vanilla flavoring which was so good. My friend had an iced latte made with soy milk and said it was one of the best she ever had. They also have a very intoxicating array of muffins. It took all my will power not to order the Iced Lemon Muffin. My friend bought several different muffins to take home and freeze for those times a sweet treat is absolutely necessary. She couldn't resist eating the lemon one as soon as she got home. She said it was outrageously delicious. We can't wait to go back. And next time....I'm getting that muffin!!! read more

On a bright and sunny, nippy fall day, Strange Brew warmed my heart and my stomach. I drive hours on the road and upon my arrival to the area, Strange Brew was the only coffee I wanted. I thoroughly enjoy their PB, but on this day, I only wanted a large Chai Latte. My husband ordered a boyish White Mocha and loved every ounce. I was out running errands in the Greenwood area and wanted a local coffee shop close by and found this one off of Smith Valley. It's in small strip mall area with plenty of parking. The space is quite large and has plenty of unique seating, decor, and artwork. They had some tables set up at the front with plexiglass for COVID safety. The staff member who assisted me was friendly and I asked for her recommendation for an iced drink- I can't quite remember the name of the item but it was tasty. They do have some seating inside right now but I decided to take mine to go. I look forward to coming back sometime to enjoy my drink inside. read more

This location is very easy to get to and stands out from the street just by the name! I was drawn towards the peanut butter cup frozen coffee drink and it was also recommended. The drink was amazing! Strange brew... less than strange, more of adequate. Swung by here after a chilly morning run for something to warm my bones.. a medium cappuccino did just that. It's covid.. so not sitting or staying, just contactless ordering, payment, grabbing and going.. The cappuccino was fresh, hot, flavorful and hit the spot. I'd had this place tagged on my yelp to visit list for a bit, but never really knew where it was. Happened to drive by, see the sign and lights on early in the am and was happy I swung through. Strange Brew is a Center Grove iconic coffee house. It is full of eccentric art and a mish mosh of seating choices. They have small tables, big tables, couches, pew seating etc.... Their coffee choices rival any big name coffee house and they offer a huge variety of specialty drinks. They also offer a good selection of delicious baked goods. The baristas are always helpful and nice. You do need to prepare yourself as you walk in from the outside as the interior is always very dark... the walls are dark and it's dimly lit so it's a shock walking in And walking out. I've been coming here for years and I've never had a single drink that wasn't delicious. At most places, I'm nervous to go out of my food or drink comfort zone because I don't want to get something new and find that I don't like it as much as my usual order, but not at Strange Brew! I switch it up constantly because I know that whatever I get will be high quality and oh-so-delectable. If you want something blended and iced, I would recommend the Milky Wave. It's sweet, chocolatey, and creamy... what else could you want?! If you're looking for an iced coffee that isn't too sweet but has a little kick of sugary goodness, check out The Mark. This is the holy grail of wake me up, perfectly sweet treats. If you like your coffee classic, fear not! Their coffee blends are out of this world and they even sell bags of beans there.
