My husband and I have purchased from this store for years. I even designed a necklace for my niece made from a ring with several diamonds (not purchased here) and was ecstatic with the results. Was pricey but well worth the expense. I broke my wrist a few years ago and had to have my rings (not purchased here) sized up. At the time I repeatedly asked, "What happens when I need these sized down again?" I was assured that would be no problem and there would be no charge. Today, after waiting about 30 minutes while the manger was in a heated debate with another customer, she finally came over, announcing, "I'm the new girl here." I advised what I needed, she sized then said "I'll get you the cost." I explained what had happened and that we were advised no charge, but we would wait to see what it would be. She came back and said, Because these are 18ct and we don't see much of this, it will be $250.00 per ring. Not horrible, but way more than it cost to have gold added for the size up. I advised we have a receipt saying no charge for resizing. She said, "That would be very unusual." She made some other rude comments making it clear she believed we were lying. I said, That's fine. we'll go home and get the receipt. She then said "My husband's an lawyer, and documentation is everything. I said, Yes, it is and left. The woman was rude, unprofessional and passive aggressive. No way she should be a manager at such a nice business. Clearly, we were not the only individuals treated poorly today. read more

I purchased earrings from Anfesa's Jewelers. The clamp came apart. This is the second time happening with 2 different pairs. The first comment is this is not gold. My comment I paid gold prices for them and the other pair was fixed that I brought here. I had shopped there since 2008. The reception was horrible each time I brought things back for repair. My feeling of feeling receptive and warm feeling coming into the store has never been a welcoming feeling to me just suspect like what can I do for you. Also to be charged $70.00 for a clamp to be put on one earrings I purchased from them was outragous. I feel they do not give the same welcome to all races in this store. They have a NO REFUND POLICY. My necklace just came apart right after I bought it. After seeing how cheaply it was made, I decided to return it and get one somewhere else. They would not refund my money. I absolutely do not recommend this business. read more

TL;DR: They made my wife's wedding ring (poorly) and were unwilling to accept responsibility and give us a refund. DO NOT SHOP HERE. We were recommended to Anfesa's through a reputable contact, and went there to have my wife's wedding ring made. We used hierloom diamonds and had the setting created to match both her engagement ring, and the size of the diamonds. Within the first year, one of the diamonds had fallen out - lost forever. Luckily, we had a replacement. When we went in to replace it with another, the explanation we received was that diamonds just fall out sometimes, and it's part of having a ring. This seemed a little weird, but we paid to have the ring cleaned and the diamond replaced and chalked it up to bad luck. A year later, the same thing happened with a different diamond. Two years, two missing diamonds. Luckily this time we found this one, and were able to take it to a different jeweler to try and replace. The sad reality of the shoddy craftsmanship was revealed when the new jeweler, who specializes in restoring historic and antique rings, said that the setting would never firmly hold on to the diamonds. Their suggestion was to get a new setting entirely. When we asked if insurance would cover the replacement costs, they said most likely no, as it would be deemed a manufacturers defect. When we took this information to Anfesa's, they first told my wife that we signed off on the designs, and therefore were somehow responsible for the way the ring was built. Last I checked, we entrusted the people who should know what they were doing to build a ring. How are we responsible for their recommendation? The end result, they weren't going to do anything, and we were on the hook for the original cost, and the cost of the new ring. I went in to try and be the calmer head in the situation, explained the situation to the manager on duty, Shannon Dunn, and was told she would work the situation out with Anfesa and get back to me in a week. A week went by and I didn't hear anything. The following week, it took three voice mails, and a call from an unrecognized number to actually get Shannon on the phone. My expectations were low already, but suspicions were confirmed: "We can't take a return because it's outside of our 30-day policy. The only thing we can do for you is repair and fix any defects and do it free of charge." I explained how any reasonable person would view any "fixes" with a level of suspicion, given the previous answers we'd received about the rings. She said that was all they could do, and any refund I was asking for was out of the question. By the end of this all, I can't tell what's worse: their craftsmanship, their willingness to correct their wrongs, or their communication. I had my diamond reset into a new (Tacori!!!) engagement ring and purchased a complementary wedding band at the same time. My new set of rings is beautiful! I was in and out of Anfesa's several times because I was indecisive and just really wanted to make the right decision. Everyone at Anfesa's was super patient with me and so welcoming and understanding. The main lady I worked with was named Shannon, and she was fabulous, but I also worked with Meredith and Carol. All were great and advised me in helpful ways! It is awesome to have a local jeweler I can trust, especially with my very sentimental jewelry. I plan to go back and get a ring I got on my honeymoon redesigned. read more

Will never shop here again.... Horrible experiance with small repair! I was not happy with repair, so they gave me store credit, after deducting for installing gold chain and for removing gold chain.THEN OWNER CALLED TO LET ME KNOW SHE WAS WIPING OUT STORE CREDIT BECAUSE SHE DID NOT LIKE TRANSACTION. She then proceeded to call my wife( ruined Christmass surprise) to say that I strong armed store Mgr., how is that possible with a armed Garner police officer on duty????? Not impressed. I called them up to ask if they could replace my watch's battery, and they said they could. If they're not really interested in doing small-money jobs like that, they shouldn't bother. I dropped the watch off and killed 10 or 15 minutes while the battery was changed. The lady who checked me out was very interested in getting my address and email for her mailing list (and a little too interested in the ethnic/religious implications of my last name -- awkward!), but I noticed that they hadn't polished the crystal on my watch (as every other jeweler/watch repair shop has in the past when I've had a battery replaced), or even set it to the correct time! This place is ridiculously over-the-top in terms of decor (and architecture!) so it became obvious to me that they couldn't care less about small-ticket items like a watch battery replacement. Why even offer the service, then? Then, within a day or two, my watch stopped keeping the correct time. I'm not saying they broke it, but I am saying that it was working before the battery died and it wasn't working after they changed the battery. I brought it back, and they wouldn't even open it up to see what was wrong without charging me another $18. Last time I set foot in the place. read more

I no longer like Anfesa's. I had a horrific experience with them today and will NEVER return. NEVER. I have shopped through them for YEARS and have always recommended them to family, friends, and strangers. Today, I went in with my father to buy some things for my mom. We wrote a check for the purchase and a worker there told us the check had insufficient funds. There was more than enough money in the account to cover the cost. We began to call the bank, roughly 30 seconds later, the same person told us to not bother calling the bank, but to go get the cash instead. The bank is closed on Christmas Eve. After checking the account, I see no one ever ran the check or called headquarters to verify funds; they simply saw a black man write a check and assumed the move was too risky. Always a wonderful experience at this family owned business where they treat you like family. Amazing variety, stunning choices. We've purchased everything from engagement & wedding diamonds to small hostess gifts, and had some significant repair work of sentimental family jewelry. While they were repairs on pieces that were of little $ value, Anfesa's treated them like the Crown Jewels and brought them back to life for us. Nice showroom, attentive employees for the most part, but they do not seem to stand behind their products. Have had three different incidences where I was less than pleased with service. Latest was a gold chain that broke three times, I believe in the same place. When having the chain repaired for the third time, I requested that they clean a ring that I purchased there 4 months ago and was told that there were several prongs that needed repairs and was charged $125 to fix! They told me that because I wear it all the time that would happen? Really? I've worn an engagement ring every day for 33 years and have never had to have it repaired at all! Was looking for a Christmas Present for my Wife, I had always bought a gift from here for her on all occasions, this year was no different, I had the Sales girl trying to help me figure on what to purchase this time, it seems they had reduced their inventory and my choices were limited, I picked out a couple of items that intrigued me, I called my Wife to get a better idea of what she might want, I decided to go to lunch and think about which item to purchase, I told the girl I would be back at 2:00 and would she still be there, she said she would and as I was walking out I noticed a grin on the cops face that was watching the door and in the reflection of the glass I could see the girl making a gesture like I'm glad that's over with a look like he won't be back.
