Bailey's Fine Jewelry was very kind and accommodating with my initial return after my husband purchased gold and diamond earrings for Christmas. I decided that for the investment, I would prefer an updated wedding band instead and was looking at a two-tone style. The sales process started smoothly, and sizing seemed straightforward at first. However, the communication around ordering and sizing became confusing. I was initially told the ring would take 5-7 days to come in, then 12 weeks, then suddenly it arrived. When the ring came in, it was still too large. After returning to have it adjusted, I was told the wrong size had been ordered (a 5.5 instead of a 5), and that it would need to be reordered again -- potentially another 12 weeks -- with no clear confirmation whether it could even be sized properly once it arrived. Ultimately, I requested a refund, which I did receive, though there was some hesitation due to timing even though the delays were outside of my control. The staff was polite throughout, and I genuinely liked the ring, but the inconsistent communication and sizing issues made the experience more frustrating than it should have been for such an important purchase. read more

I purchased an Omega Speedmaster from an authorized dealer in South Korea and drove an hour to Bailey's, an alleged Omega boutique, to remove a link from the strap. To my shock, they wanted to charge me for this service, despite Omega's clear policy of offering complimentary repairs for watches bought from authorized dealers. This raises serious concerns about Bailey's legitimacy as an authorized retailer. I am extremely frustrated with their customer service. It's unacceptable that a store representing such a prestigious brand fails to respect customers who invest thousands. Bailey's needs IMMEDIATE training on proper customer service. I love Bailey's, or did love Bailey's. They have probably 15 people working the floor in the flagship Raleigh Cameron Village location on Mon 12/1/25 and only 2 people working the register to collect payment. I was making a significant purchase, waited 20 minutes for one of the cashiers to be ready for me. They were helping people who were getting engraving and other speciality services and couldn't/wouldn't check me out. They didn't even acknowledge that I was standing there in line for so long, not making eye contact or even giving me a smile. Sales people would walk by and ask if they could get me a drink or water.... but I just wanted to swipe my card and be on my way. I finally decided to leave the store without my purchase, the kind woman at the front asked me to give her a chance to make it right. She got someone and escorted me back to the cashier to check me out. I expressed the disorganization of having so many sales people on the floor but no way to pay and leave. They said their cashiers were all college students and had exams this week. That is poor planning for such a busy time of the year. So having only college students to work the register means the customers cannot pay? Isn't that the most important part of the buying process. In a time when few businesses continue to stress customer service, the watch repair department of Bailey's Fine Jewelry on Daniels Street stands out for its incredible customer service. I have a Timex watch for which I tried for hours to get the back on. I ruined my wife's watch when trying to do the same. I thought that my watch was not repairable and had already planned to purchase a replacement but I thought that I would take it by Bailey's. I gave the person at the repair window my watch, the back, and a new battery. After several minutes, he came back carrying my watch so that I could see that it was working. I was overwhelmed. Not only was the back on and the watch working, but the time and date were set, the watch band was cleaned, and somehow the scratches on the face were removed. I was ecstatic. And then here is the kicker. After giving me the repaired watch, he then asked if I would like a bottle of water or Coke before leaving. I was still in a state of shock so declined. She will take the time to go the service with me to help explain what I need fixed. I wanted a pair of white gold earrings but they only came in yellow gold. She talked with the service department about doing a rhodium plate over the earrings. They were just what I wanted!! Another example is on a recent bracelet that I purchased. It needed to be cut down but we talked through it to make sure the bracelet would fit well but also look great. The bracelet has different textures and sizes of links. My boyfriend and I came in without an appointment to look at engagement rings last week and were seen very quickly by a very friendly sales associate. The store seemed very clean and bright and people seemed happy there, so it gets 5 stars from me. The one caveat I will say is that if your engagement ring budget is over $10k you're probably better off going to a higher-end place. The sales associate didn't really have anything over 2ct in store to show me and the 1.5ct stones she did show me.....weren't the quality we were looking for. She did offer to order some stones in for us, but it didn't seem like the place to order an eye-clean, colorless stone when we had been shown J colored stones with noticeable inclusions on diamonds half the size of what we were hoping to get. It was a bit busy when I went, but I was quickly helped, and my sales associate was willing to get a piece of jewelry transferred to their store just for me to look at it. I had a really great experience at Bailey's last weekend. We moved to the area a few years ago and I really needed to have my ring cleaned. I had heard positive things about Bailey's and decided to head over to look around and see if they provided professional ring cleaning services. Laura at the repair counter was so friendly and explained the options to me, including a complimentary cleaning first to determine whether a more in depth cleaning was needed. My ring sparkled when she brought it back! I will most likely have it sent out for the professional cleaning they provide in the future but for now it looks so good! I've seen the billboards. I've heard the commercials. For the first time, I stepped into Bailey's to see what the hype was all about. It is conveniently (or not-so-conveniently) located in my neighborhood in the high traffic yet awesome outdoor shopping area of Cameron Village. Bailey's Fine Jewelry staff knows its diamonds from duds and are really nice. Bailey's carries an incredible selection of high end brands like David Yurman and John Hardy. The salesperson said they have items in every price range but I didn't really see any. You probably have to ask. Bailey's will add a wish list to their system so you or anyone you send there can see it and make selections from your list. That helps you and helps them, right? And yes, I have a wish list there! Bailey's even does a watch battery change in conjunction with a charity. You can get the watch battery changed for free but they ask for a donation to the charity. I've been back in to Bailey's quite a few times since my original review and I continue to be impressed! All of my experiences have been with the Repair and Design department so I can't really speak to the sales floor. I've been helped by Jamey in repairs and really enjoy working with him. He explains what needs to be done in detail and feels invested in the project along with you. I have a family ring from the 40's that was falling apart, not surprisingly since it had been worn by various family members for the past 80 years or so! Jamey worked with the jeweler to figure out the best course of action. Turns out the whole thing basically needed to be redone since the gold had worn so thin in multiple spots. The jeweler basically recreated my ring as an exact replica using whatever original pieces he/she could. The ring turned out better than expected! I was very happy with the work done. I had gotten one other price for the ring and Bailey's price was comparable. I recently also went in to get a ring appraised and the appraiser was also great to work with! I purchased the ring abroad so always feel better getting be appraisal done once I'm back home. I'm still greeted each time I go in by a friendly staff member. I like how they also offer you water while you are waiting in the repair line. Little touches like that go a long way! I will continue to frequent Bailey's for my jeweler/jewelry needs! read more

The store products are extremely unique and fairly priced for the what you get . I'd like to share my most recent experience at Bailey's which truly impressed me . I had a diamond eternity band that was custom made for my wedding not purchased at baileys, and wanted to convert it into earrings after my divorced . I took them to Bailey's and they were able to do the work in a timely manner . Unfortunately, one of the stones fell out of the earring after and I contacted Bailey's to see what could be done . Margarita and Audrey were above and beyond helpful and professional . They agreed to replace the stone which I am incredibly thankful for. The level of quality of service and product at the store is above all I've ever experienced . I needed a watch miracle. I have the most handsome Citizen Eco-Drive which was also coincidently (and purposefully) is a mens watch, that I NEEDED to fit my extremely slender wrist. No small feat in my overly dramatic mind and therefore I could not just trust any old jeweler with amateurs manning the sizing gun - I needed watch experts. Baileys had me at "Advanced Restoration" and "Sure, we do that all the time. 20 minutes?" So I browsed. David Yurman, estate jewelry, Michael Kors, Tags, Rolex's, and DIAMONDS OH MY! I sat down to prevent money from flying out of my wallet as quick as, "ohhh lots-o-shiny, I'll take it." There's a little oasis in the back of the store with plush(ish) chairs, cookies, and beverages (bottled water and bottled Coke -score!) and a flat screen TV, Virginia was playing Duke. Surprisingly, it wasn't all men in this little dugout, they wisely knew not to let wide-eyed wives or girlfriends loose unsupervised in a jewelry store, could get expensive, very expensive... Also surprising was how many people there were in the store late Saturday afternoon. It wasn't crowded, but there were a lot of people milling about and they all seemed to know each other, somewhat amusing in a "we're all friends here" type of sentiment. I could not be happier with my experience at Bailey's Jewelry. Kelly B. and Josh B. were an absolute pleasure to work with. I have spent months shopping for a diamond and countless hours doing research (online and with several brokers) for the most perfectly cut diamond. The crown and pavilion angles, along with table/depth percentages and star length significantly determine the sparkle and "fire" of a diamond and its performance. All of the diamonds I looked at were GIA graded "triple ex", however the one at Diamond's Direct (that I nearly purchased) I later found out was what is referred to as "steep and deep" and was on the fringe of being "triple ex" certified. It was still a fantastic diamond, just not the absolute best which is what you expect in a "triple ex". The diamond Bailey's found was the very best of GIA "triple ex" and fell within AGS's "triple zero" category. The price was also just as competitive as Diamond's Direct, Blue Nile, White Flash and significantly better than CMI Jewelry (who so kindly faxed a price sheet with their "standard markup" fee to an open fax machine at my office without my knowledge). The diamond Bailey's found for me was proportionately...perfect! The absolute best cut. Trust me, there's a huge difference. Everyone my fiancée has run into has complimented on how it's the most sparkly ring they've ever seen, even complete strangers. Miserable time over getting a baby gift engraved. Baby was premature, had emergency surgery, was in an induced coma for several days... nightmare. Gift mattered and timing mattered. (He's ok now, by the way.) After waiting in 3-deep line to pick up something I'd already paid for, to find it was not to my specification, the customer "service" person told ME to go look on the shelf for a similar item, tried to guilt me that he had "even gotten the manager" involved to work on a solution, and before we were done said, about the issue with the item, "Is that really important?". Yes, actually. Yes, it was. Topped off by a promised follow-up phone call that -- no surprise -- never came. I'd have gotten better service from a mall kiosk. Did I mention that I came in and shopped around for 20 minutes, found item in a glass case, opened it, and took it to a counter to buy it without ever being approached by any employee? I'm thankful to the Yelp community for introducing me to this delightful establishment by way of a Yelp Elite event (oh yes I did just status drop). Evidently I was the only girl in Raleigh who didn't know what a Bailey box was before that date. What impressed me the most about Bailey's is the staff. I went around and spoke to probably 6-7 employees and each one of them loved their job, had been with the company for at least a decade, and had a vast knowledge base of every part of the store that they freely and enthusiastically shared. Girls, let's have a moment of silence in honor of their engagement ring selection. Oh. Em. Gee. I heard a rumor that there's only one guy on the entire east coast who designs jewelry cases (have not yet confirmed via Google search) and he said the biggest custom engagement ring case he's made has been for the Bailey's location in Cameron Village. I believe him. It's huge. Again, the staff in this arena is extremely well-informed. Baileys has built a business on being about what they say they're about. They're straightforward, reasonable, and they genuinely appreciate their customers' business, which is why they've been around for so long and why people keep coming back. Side note: you can get your watch batteries replaced free of charge, however they do accept donations in lieu of payment which they pass along to a different charity each month. They did not sell anything of poor quality and jewelry creation and repair were all excellent. Well, things have certainly changed. I took some of my most cherished pieces to be repaired and had to go back twice to correct the repairs they did. I finally took them to another jeweler. What happened?
