This place is horrendous. On 11/1 I dropped 12 pieces of jewelers to be cleaned, 12 necklaces all high quality pieces. All brought in individually separated in bags. I asked they be finished by 11/6. I ended up traveling for business and today showed up to pick up my jeweler. The picture below is what greeted me. A tangled mess of jewelry, not cleaned. They had the jewelry for 10 days and didn't even call to tel me it was not done. This is a business not at all concerned with there customers. The lady working at the shop said she has no idea why it wasn't completed. If you wished to get work done or even purchase something buyer beware this establishment.

We have a family cuckoo clock that hangs on the wall which we had bought on a trip to Europe over…read more50 years ago. It is a European clock with the original Dutch movements. A few years ago, it started to develop problems, running erratically and with the 2 drop weights which power the clock occasionally descending unequally. The time could be off by large amounts, even a few hours. In Dec. 2020, Clocktiques sent a technician, Jason, to our house. We told Jason the history, including the age, of the clock. He claimed that the problem was principally due to the fact that the 2 drop weights were not identical and he made an adjustment. About 6 months later, the same performance problems returned. I left my clock at Clocktiques for approximately 2 months and was charged a few hundred dollars for the repairs (I note that the charge for Jason's previous work was not reimbursed). For a few months the clock functioned well, but over the next couple of years, the issues not only returned but became worse: the clock would stop completely every few months, or so. I called Rick, the owner. I then dropped off my clock for several weeks at Clocktiques. They checked the clock and told me the issues were resolved. However, the problems returned. I decided to look for a different repair shop. In Sept. 2024, a shop in Raleigh told me that my clock needed a major overhaul. They opened up all of the internal workings, including repairing/replacing some of the bushings. The technician said that the serious problems had probably been present for at least a few years, and possibly much longer. After about 2 months in the shop and charges of a few hundred dollars, my clock is now running fine (and is under lengthy warranty coverage). I called Clocktiques demanding an explanation, but Rick was not able to provide one. I am deeply disappointed with the service I received at Clocktiques. While the shop carries an attractive and catchy name, my experience suggests otherwise. This is reminiscent of your taking your car to the mechanic when you hear a loud noise from the engine. The noise goes away for a while after you have paid a large "repair" bill but, then, months later, the car stops running as you find out you what you had actually needed was an engine overhaul in the first place.

As a jeweler, they should know scratch tests are not meant for higher carat gold but a xrf or pmi gun. Took it to a pawn shop for testing and even the jewel recycle and they both confirmed it was 24k. Them being jewelers, they should know this and not try to scam customers. Their work is amazing from what I have seen but I can not trust them. Beware.

From the moment I met one of the owners, this gem of a store got my attention. Before setting foot into the shop, I was impressed by their proactive, organic social media campaigns. The visit to Jewel Smith of Durham blew our minds. The attention to in-store customer service was most refreshing and sadly unique. They know how to make the jewelry purchase experience fun and memorable. Each piece is created by talented architects with impressive tools and timeless machinery. There are exquisite pieces that are one of a kind with gems carefully purchased from every part of our planet. I realized after my first visit to the local mall here how I'd never again attempt a purchase at a chain jeweler. If you're looking for a truly skilled clockmaker, Scott at Clockwise is the person to trust…read more I brought Scott two family heirloom grandfather clocks that meant the world to me. One belonged to my mother and had been repaired multiple times elsewhere but still wasn't running properly. Scott carefully diagnosed the problem, corrected it, and brought it back to life. My grandmother's clock was an even greater challenge. It had been restored over the years with replacement parts, missing components, and numerous obstacles to getting everything working together correctly. Scott never looked for the easy way out. He patiently worked through every issue, custom-lengthened the metal pendulum, evaluated the weight distribution, and fine-tuned the clock until it kept perfect time. What sets Scott apart is not only his knowledge but also his integrity. He takes the time to explain what he's doing, answers questions without making you feel rushed, and genuinely wants your clock to continue running long after it leaves his shop. His attention to detail and commitment to doing the job right are evident in everything he does. Today, both of my family's treasured clocks are running beautifully. Seeing my grandmother's clock keeping perfect time again is something I honestly wasn't sure I'd ever experience, and I couldn't be more grateful. Thank you, Scott, for your patience, your craftsmanship, and for treating these family heirlooms with the care and respect they deserved. I recommend Clockwise without hesitation.

Treasure Isle - Ring after getting it back from man with "40 years" of experience

First of all, I would give zero stars, but everybody there was understanding and communicative…read moreEXCEPT the "head" jeweler with "40 years of experience" (which he gladly gloated about when we showed him the ring / told him another shop didn't feel comfortable resizing the due to being a tension setting). Not mentioning names so I don't get my review flagged, but S.E. is either the Grinch incarnate or a merely a small, angry man... either way, the ownership is too complacent or lazy to do anything about it. My now fiancee and I brought her engagement ring there to be resized after being recommended to do so from the store we purchased from. Their website mentions "most resizing done within an hour", so we figured we would give it a shot. Upon arrival, as mentioned above, the jeweler saw it, and gave us a time that it would be complete by, "give me a couple hours", cool, we can walk around the mall, eat, kill time. About 15 minutes away from the time we were given for pickup, seeing as we were walking right by the store, we decided to check and see if it was done. We arrive and ask, and the jeweler scoffs "it will be ready closer to when you were told it would be ready". We explained to him we were told 3pm, and currently it was nearly 2:50pm. His reply? "I guess I better get started on that then". We are in no-rush, so we tell him okay, and that we will go next door to the restaurant there for a couple drinks and a snack. Before we are even finished with our single drink each, and a small plate of wings, he is in the establishment schmoozing with other bar patrons. We then return to the store and, thankfully the ring is done. We look at it, and well, it's good enough, but we've been in the mall around 6 hours at this point. I explain that I had planned on proposing that night, and while I appreciate the quick turnaround on this type of job, I will likely be bringing it back to have it corrected and returned to as close to it was when we bought it, to which they agree is fine. That Sunday, about 2-3 days before Christmas, I return with the ring. I am discussing with the jeweler that, for as confident as he was, this (small) resize does not exude "40 years of experience" and I would like him to correct that and fix the issues with it. Issues being, when resizing, he did not cut evenly or did not bend it in evenly causing the settings to basically be lopsided when the ring was on the finger, the diamond itself was far looser than when we brought it, and, worst of all, in resizing, he added metal to the tension setting as it had opened up a little. This metal not match, nor look consistent with the white gold on the rest of the ring, it was not built up, nor sanded enough to not look like a sack of potatoes (shown in pictures). He agrees that it isn't his best work and will fix it up for us. I proceed to ask him about when he thinks he'll be able to work on it / general timeframe, as once again, I know it's close to Christmas. I mention it's not a huge rush and I don't want him to think I'm rushing him, as that may have been the case initially, causing him to perform less than stellar work. He mentions "It'll be done Wednesday"... puzzled I reply "Oh, on Christmas Day? You're not taking the day off?"... his response "I'm f-n Jewish, I don't give an f about Christmas, I'm going to work and make some cash". Somewhat shocked by the delivery, but hey that's his choice to work Christmas, I smiled and nodded and left the ring with him. Christmas passes, it's Thursday so I am expecting to get a call that it's ready. Nothing. Towards the end of day, I call. One of the other staff members goes to look and then informs me he can't even find the ring, and he would ask the jeweler and get back to me. Doesn't get back to me. Now it's Friday evening, I call again. "It's on the bench ready to be worked on. It will be ready for Sunday". Sunday comes and goes as we traveled to do a late Christmas with my fiancee's family, no call Sunday. Monday we return, later in the day, figuring we would give them a final chance to rectify the situation. We get there, the ring is still on the bench and has yet to be started, and to boot the jeweler isn't there. The nice woman at the counter tells us that she thinks he just went to grab a quick bite or use the bathroom but should be back soon. We wait around, and he finally returns, and it STILL hasn't been started. There is finally some back and forth, a bunch of excuses, and I ask for the ring back. "I guess you want your money back to?" "Yep, thanks for making that so easy'. I then mention that if it can't be fixed, I will hold the business liable for refunding me the cost of the ring itself to get a replacement. "Sure thing buddy!" as he hands me a business card, with his personal number written on the back with "text". Would 100% avoid this place if you want anything other than cheap/theater jewelry fixed lest deal with this payaso.
