This place is horrendous. On 11/1 I dropped 12 pieces of jewelers to be cleaned, 12 necklaces all high quality pieces. All brought in individually separated in bags. I asked they be finished by 11/6. I ended up traveling for business and today showed up to pick up my jeweler. The picture below is what greeted me. A tangled mess of jewelry, not cleaned. They had the jewelry for 10 days and didn't even call to tel me it was not done. This is a business not at all concerned with there customers. The lady working at the shop said she has no idea why it wasn't completed. If you wished to get work done or even purchase something buyer beware this establishment.

Would not recommend them with high carat gold. Wanted to turn my 24k gold into other jewelry and…read morethey did a scratch test to test the gold. They stated it was 22k. As a jeweler, they should know scratch tests are not meant for higher carat gold but a xrf or pmi gun. Took it to a pawn shop for testing and even the jewel recycle and they both confirmed it was 24k. Them being jewelers, they should know this and not try to scam customers. Their work is amazing from what I have seen but I can not trust them. Beware.

From the moment I met one of the owners, this gem of a store got my attention. Before setting foot into the shop, I was impressed by their proactive, organic social media campaigns. The visit to Jewel Smith of Durham blew our minds. The attention to in-store customer service was most refreshing and sadly unique. They know how to make the jewelry purchase experience fun and memorable. Each piece is created by talented architects with impressive tools and timeless machinery. There are exquisite pieces that are one of a kind with gems carefully purchased from every part of our planet. I realized after my first visit to the local mall here how I'd never again attempt a purchase at a chain jeweler. It's not too late for Christmas with their fully staffed extended Holiday hours and a dedicated parking lot. And then there's always Valentines Day.

The best jeweler in the Triangle…read more After our engagement my fiance and I did our research on places to craft a custom ring with his family stones. CMI was a lucky find. They offer a huge selection of settings and will happily do custom work as well. We worked with Keith and he was extremely patient, knowledgeable, available, flexible, and not at all pushy. We purchased the center stone separately and he even helped guide us in that selection (even though it was not through them). We bothered Keith a lot over the details and he was always friendly and never pressured or rushed us. In the end the ring came out beautiful and the turn around was SUPER fast, it was ready a couple days early and the price came out lower than quoted! On top of all that they were able to salvage the old setting for us (which was my mother-in-law to-be's engagement ring) rather than grind it to shreds while they removed the stones for reuse. We are so happy with our CMI experience and are actually planning to rush back to have our wedding bands done there before we move out of the area in the coming months.

I had two rings resized. Intake was easy and staff were very nice which included interaction w/owner or manager. Everyone was so helpful and detailed. Service cost was slightly higher than others but they did great work and I totally trust them for future business. It was worth the price difference.

We have a family cuckoo clock that hangs on the wall which we had bought on a trip to Europe over…read more50 years ago. It is a European clock with the original Dutch movements. A few years ago, it started to develop problems, running erratically and with the 2 drop weights which power the clock occasionally descending unequally. The time could be off by large amounts, even a few hours. In Dec. 2020, Clocktiques sent a technician, Jason, to our house. We told Jason the history, including the age, of the clock. He claimed that the problem was principally due to the fact that the 2 drop weights were not identical and he made an adjustment. About 6 months later, the same performance problems returned. I left my clock at Clocktiques for approximately 2 months and was charged a few hundred dollars for the repairs (I note that the charge for Jason's previous work was not reimbursed). For a few months the clock functioned well, but over the next couple of years, the issues not only returned but became worse: the clock would stop completely every few months, or so. I called Rick, the owner. I then dropped off my clock for several weeks at Clocktiques. They checked the clock and told me the issues were resolved. However, the problems returned. I decided to look for a different repair shop. In Sept. 2024, a shop in Raleigh told me that my clock needed a major overhaul. They opened up all of the internal workings, including repairing/replacing some of the bushings. The technician said that the serious problems had probably been present for at least a few years, and possibly much longer. After about 2 months in the shop and charges of a few hundred dollars, my clock is now running fine (and is under lengthy warranty coverage). I called Clocktiques demanding an explanation, but Rick was not able to provide one. I am deeply disappointed with the service I received at Clocktiques. While the shop carries an attractive and catchy name, my experience suggests otherwise. This is reminiscent of your taking your car to the mechanic when you hear a loud noise from the engine. The noise goes away for a while after you have paid a large "repair" bill but, then, months later, the car stops running as you find out you what you had actually needed was an engine overhaul in the first place.
