Hey I agree: Mean People Suck. However, I was here several times morning and night. I guess I'm an extrovert...I engaged in conversation with a barista, and he was in his 20's nice guy. I visited 3 years ago from good old California. I was just talking about the famous people I knew that were from Akron. The coffee was great. Later that evening it was really a meeting place. Students, couples on a date, etc...I always felt comfortable, and welcomed. So much so, I may move here! :) read more

Appreciate all of the staff's use of masks during covid. Fairly empty. Inside tables were comfortably separated, with tables and seats outside. The seating area with concrete slabs of seating provided ample seating options. Inventory fully stocked. And iced coffee was tasty. Two iced coffees and two biscottis came out to roughly 7$ -- reasonably priced. Service was decent, and staff were not as difficult as described by other reviewers. read more

We entered this lovely establishment and promptly ordered our drinks. A latte with almond milk and a mocha sans whipped cream. The latte was made and delivered with extreme precision and without any delay. They did forget about the mocha and made several other drinks while I waited. I was not upset nor was I frustrated for the general ambiance was quite pleasant. After reminding the barista of my drink order he made my drink and served it with a smile. All in all, that's what I'm really reviewing on, a place that delivers with a smile has me leaving with a smile. What a grand experience! read more

I visit Angel Falls 2-3x a month. Each time I come in the staff is friendly, and the vibe is very chill. The pastries are very good, and I recommend the peanut butter cookies. The teas are better than most, and refills are $1. I go to read, and relax after work. So I've got no idea about the WiFi or utility as a study space. No hassles reading though. read more

As some other's have said, it's not the best coffee in town. But the part of town it's in is pretty enough, and the atmosphere is cozy. The coffee is cheap, they offer a variety of healthy food. I can come here, have some coffee, eat some yogurt, and read for as long as I feel. The employees are very friendly, and they really make me feel welcome. They clientele is easy going and friendly, at least in my experience, which is a nice change from the hectic rush of larger coffee-houses. I would have given a five just for the locale and the atmosphere, as you feel like a section of downtown Boston has been transplanted into this little neighborhood, but as I said, the coffee is just coffee. And choosing to sit outside is a crapshoot. Nothing I dislike more than having my quiet Sunday morning disrupted by people begging for money with rehearsed sob-stories so they can "go buy coolant" or "gas cans" or whatever they think you'll by so you can help them buy crack. Yes, this is not Angel Falls fault, but it is an unfortunate reality of this location. Do go, though. Hang out and have some relaxation time. read more

Gorgeous looking coffee house. This is one of my favorite places to relax and catch up on reading and friends. Everything is served looking perfect. You have to take a look at their bookcase. Yes, they have books to read. The smell makes it feel so home like. Also, they have outdoor seating for the warm months. The people who work here are just down to earth and lovely. I love Highland Square. I feel like I'm at home when I'm there - - even though I've never lived there. Angel Falls just furthers that feeling. One because it's always there and, two, because it is a very homey-feeling place. Their coffee is pretty good, and their tea selection is robust. I had a nice Earl Grey there recently, and it was superb. I enjoy sitting outside in the nice weather, as HS is a fun place to people-watch and just 'be' among the community. I'm knocking a star off for the inside seating/ambiance. While comfy, it is quite small. I always end up having to sit right next to someone who doesn't know how to use their inside voice. Also, the interior furnishings are a little too worn for my taste. I don't want pristine, untouched seating in a coffee house, but Angel Falls' furniture is bordering on gross. A little too lived in. My best friend and I went there and talked for a while in a sunny afternoon. The atmosphere is good. I ordered the coffee and she ordered the Chai tea latte. My coffee is just so so. But the Chai tea latte is very tasty. The food is also delicious. We have free wifi access. People are reading there. The only problem is the cafeteria is too small which makes the room crowded. I think I would only choose this place to chat with my friends instead of studying. Because the small room may make people easy to be disturbed by others. I agree with majority of reviews that the place is worn out, and desperately needs some UPDATE, at least in the furniture department. On my recent Sunday visit, I couldn't focus on the Times because a worn to the foam chair arm was too distracting and I felt like being in a dilapidated house, and I felt that these sitting pieces might have fleece or worth. I usually sit on wooden chairs, but they all so uncomfortable... to hang out. The only a perk that makes me coming back for a cup of a pretty flat diluted and unusually hot Americano is the Sunday Times. Coffee is just a small price to pay for the $6 papers. So whoever mentioned a homey atmosphere - might have a very low benchmark for what constitutes a comfortable and well maintained home. Suggestion to owners: HIT GARAGE SALES read more

I have been frequenting this coffee shop for a little over a year now and I am finding that the frequency at which I go has been declining. Mostly because the staff is rude and they have turned into internet Nazis. I actually don't even use their internet because they now charge after 180 minutes, and I use my own hotspot instead. I liked the ambiance the place, but the staff makes me avoid the place. So, if you want to be condescended to and reprimanded for doing things that the staff deems wrong, by all means check this place out. I'm thinking the coffee shop must be struggling financially, so they get mad when they think customers are trying to take advantage of them, but man, be a bit more polite about it! Angel Falls is a great little coffee shop for chatting with a friend, reading or working on your computer. You just cannot beat the desserts. They are superb. Their Mocha Latte is second to none. Sorry Angel Falls, I really wanted to like you but it just didn't work out. Your atmosphere is great, nice decor, decent music, even nice looking patrons. But the barista was not very friendly, the ingredients in the baked goods suspiciously artificial looking and the the drinks, well the drinks did you in... My husband's mocha was mediocre, we wondered if there was any mocha in the coffee at all. But my tea was the worst. You took a cold wide and heavy mug and poured hot water into it. Then you added a tea bag on top. So what I got was a cup of lukewarm water with a teabag floating around wondering what to do with itself. You look upscale and you could be without too much work but maybe some classes in how to prepare good drinks might help. And some of us who are willing to spend $5 on coffee also care that our baked goods are made with butter not Crisco and wouldn't touch artificial red coloring with a ten foot pole. read more

My wife and I used to frequent Angel Falls quite often. (not any more). I believe the manager needs to find a new career or start treating the customers a little better. He was quite rude to my wife after she was trying to have a light conversation with him over the baked goods. He apparently won't do pour over's either even tho they do have them listed on the menu. Ordered a large iced coffee, I get handed a 16 oz cup you put hot coffee in, complete with sippy top and watered down (cold)hot coffee. They have one vegan option for food, and it was some crappy fruit bar. I just expected more given the location and reviews. The woman working the register was not pleasant. Bad vibes. read more

We were in town for the weekend and looking for an authentic coffee shop experience on Sunday, July 16, 2017, approximately 11 am. Angel Falls Coffee Company has a unique coffee shop vibe which is good. Even though many tables were taken, it wasn't very busy, and there was no line. The service was not inviting, friendly, or welcoming. I attempted to have conversation with the gentleman at the counter who took the order, but his facial expression remained the same -- blank. Our coffee and chocolate drinks were room temperature, at best. After taking a sip, I asked if it could be hotter. The young woman obliged but appeared reluctant, as if it was bothersome. I could not get a response from her either even after I said "thank you", especially since she made some sweet coffee art on the foam. Now, if you're looking for a quick, in/out coffee experience, mediocre java, with no interaction, then this may be the place for you. Best of luck on your coffee roasting success Angel Falls, but remember -- you never know who may be visiting your establishment. The first impression is the best impression. I really do love this shop. It's usually my favorite place to get work done, read, or just people watch. It has a really unique yet relaxing feel. I've been coming here for over two years now, but I've never had problems like I've had this summer. It's frustrating that I feel bad going up to get a drink or a snack because of the employees. I don't know if it's just me, but every employee, except one young woman, has been rude to me. I always make sure to go up when there isn't a line, and I used to tip for every order, until I got fed up and realized poor customer service doesn't warrant a tip. Should be fixed.
