I'm not from the area, but I was in town staying with friends for the weekend and I needed a place to get some work done before I linked up with them. I did a quick search on Yelp and found Asterisks just a couple minutes up the street, so I decided to pay them a visit. I didn't do too much research before heading there so I was surprised to find them in a cute little shopping center. By the stroke of luck I was able to get a parking spot directly in front. Had that not happened, I may have gotten so frustrated trying to find parking that I would have given up. Just being honest as someone that doesn't know the area at all. Anyhoo, I was greeted immediately by their friendly staff who were happy to give me recommendations on what to order. I landed on their mole latte with oat milk, their house salad with lemon poppy seed dressing, and a ginger muffin. I drank every sip and ate every single bite. The latte was the perfect blend of chocolate and spice. The salad I would order again and again and again. Lastly, the muffin was moist with a fabulous amount of ginger flavor. The space itself was great, with a nice variety of seating options, strong wifi, local art on the walls, and a good bit of natural light. And again, the staff were fabulous. This is the second time I've been here, and I think it will become one of my regular spots. Asterisk is in such a convenient location in Front Street and they have reasonable prices. The baristas are always really nice too. You can come here to get a good cup of coffee and the bakery item I had was really good! I have found that coffee shops can be a hit or miss with their food items, and Asterisk left me pleasantly surprised. Their shop is really cozy, and I spent two hours chatting and sipping my coffee. Another great local find! The wife had a Mole mocha and a savory scone, and I had an oolong tea, freshly brewed, and blueberry granola. Asterisk is my favorite place in Cuyahoga Falls to grab a coffee or just sit and chill. I usually order their Honey Cortado, which is a small drink, with equal parts milk and espresso and a little bit of honey! The flavor of their espresso is so delightful and yummy. I also have ordered their matcha, and tried a couple cocktails there as well! Their staff are friendly and helpful and you can tell that the owners really care about quality, which is very important in my opinion. Definitely worth checking out! The barista who greeted me was super nice and funny! Made me a great maple latte, perfectly sweetened. I also ordered a quiche to go that came with a side arugula salad with shaved Parmesan and light dressing, very good. While the crust of the quiche was a little chalky, I was very impressed with the taste and look of the quiche itself! I can only imagine what the other food options (they've got toast, bowls, pastries, etc.) look and taste like! Nice ambiance and decent amount of seating but service was slow and drinks were average. It didn't seem that busy but took 15 minutes to get two hot chocolates. I got it as soon as they called it but it was not that hot, even a bit lukewarm! The maple latte came out a bit quicker and was good with a nice design. I feel like they should call out the names and have someone help make the drinks because they had four or five employees but only one person making drinks it seemed. It would have been fine if the hot chocolate was warm but after waiting that long for a lukewarm hot chocolate, it wasn't that great. read more

The flavor menu at first threw me for a loop as I love the classic Vanilla or Caramel and they have a different variety. Do not judge a book by its cover!! I ended up trying the "vanilla rooibos" and "maple" flavor in a hot latte. Both were fantastic, which were not super sweet. The espresso itself was amazing!! Recommend the salmon or sweet toast (I order half-thick cut on the whole grain Ash Creek bread; it's normally very thick), the homemade soup, the chicken sandwich, and the salad. It's great to get a tasty attractive salad made with local ingredients. So rare. We love the baked goods too. They are attractive, delicious, and feature healthy and seasonal ingredients. This season, liked the wonderful peanut butter cookies, rye brownies, fresh fig walnut bars (amazing), and jalapeno cheddar scones. Asterisk also offers beer, wine, well-designed cocktails and top-shelf liquors. The ambiance is relaxed and pleasant (except for festival weekends; downtown Cuyahoga Falls is very crowded then, and small businesses are often overwhelmed). Otherwise, a serene atmosphere. Asterisk is an ideal place to meet friends, hang out, have a drink, or eat breakfast or lunch. Good both for groups and for folks on their own. Everyone's welcome and treated with kindness. Not your usual coffee shop offerings (it is a bar, folx), but you can get that here too. I ordered a chai latte and it was delicious. Service was fast and the barista brought my drink to my table. Cute coffee shop offering a variety of beverage options. I ordered the pour over coffee and watched as the barista made my cup of joe. Most coffee shops I've been to, they normally dispense the pre-made coffee and I'm on my merry way out the door. However, it was really neat to see my coffee made right in front of me. Hot water slowly drizzled over coffee grounds, the liquid seeping its way through the mound of grounds and then dripping from the filter into the glass container. I'm not exactly sure what that's called, but this glass container looked like a contraption one would have used in a science lab. Make sure to tell the barista to leave room for any additional items (ie cream or milk), as they will pour it in for you! Sweeteners such as raw sugar and stevia are located at the bar for you to add in yourself. Seems like a popular spot in the square! read more

WOW, there are two employees here that just go above and beyond. They make the most amazing Matcha latte I've ever had anywhere and the best espresso macchiato. Kate and I believe the gentleman's name is Brian. I could be wrong on that are such an asset to this company. today, I didn't have time to wait for matcha latte so I ordered it online. Now a little history. I don't want all the calories of the homemade almond milk or cow milk or anything and lattes tend to have a lot of milk in them. So the last time I was here I asked for half the amount of milk, and add hot water in place. When I place my order online, they didn't give me this option. However, I must be one of the few people that orders the Matcha latte with the homemade almond milk. Kate knew that it was me and automatically adjusted it for me. When I got there, it was perfect. Great experience here this morning! Fresh coffee and drinks and friendly, knowledgeable baristas. Went in to get a drip coffee but they only serve drip until 10am (they do pour overs after...gotta keep it fresh!) so instead went for a cortado. It did not disappoint! Love this local coffee shop! This place is the perfect vibe of trendy/modern and cozy. I came here to do a bit of work on a Friday and it was the perfect setting! The cappuccino was good but very different to what I'm used to/really love in an espresso-based drink. It was very nutty, light and a bit burnt tasting but not because I think they did something weird in the brewing process, I think that's just a flavor note of the bean. I would come here again to try another type of coffee with different beans or get a tea drink! I also had the blueberry granola which was the best granola I have ever eaten... so tasty and I can't wait to come back another time for more. From top to bottom yesterday was an amazing visit. Friendly, knowledgeable staff that truly love coffee. The pour over tasted excellent. I underestimated this roaster. The specialty toast was bomb. I initially wanted avocado toast, but the sweet version of the toast had me at creme fraiche and balsamic glaze. As usual the atmosphere was chill and relaxing. My wife and I both ordered the mocha latte. She ordered hers with almond milk which they add syrup to in order to make it a mocha. And I ordered mine regular which they use chocolate milk for, and it was amazing! I absolutely cannot wait until these small coffee shops open again for indoor dine in because the ambiance of this place is so cool. Only issue is that parking might not be that easy to find since it is paid street parking. This place is worth the walk, though! If you are in the area, this is an outstanding coffee bar to check out. It is very clean, modern looking, and plenty of room: regular tables, bar style seating, and a couch. They don't have a very in-depth food menu, but what they do have is fresh and good. They make their granola in-house and I would definitely recommend it. I had a granola and fruit bowl with some milk, the perfect breakfast. I also had a basic mocha latte. I posted a picture, very well-made and very tasty. Next time, I will order it extra hot. Parking can be a little tricky depending on the time of day. If you park right in front of the coffee shop, you should have coins for the meters. Astericks Coffee Bar is a great spot that I will definitely revisit next time I'm in the area. read more

Above and beyond my expectations. I am a new believer in Akron Coffee Roasters. Asterisk Coffee Bar carries the tradition of Akron Coffee Roasters to the next level. As expected, the coffee is excellent. I visited on the first Thursday after their opening day and had two cortados at ACB and took three pour overs of their light roast coffee to go. The espresso shined through the rich, smooth milk of cortado. The pour over coffee was some of the best I've enjoyed across the country. The barista described it as "vanilla and sweet" and it definitely tasted like vanilla and sweet. It was so good I wished I could have gotten another one. The coffee was also balanced, and juicy, had a really good aftertaste, and was really enjoyable. This is an excellent testament to the skill of the baristas and roaster and their passion for serving excellent coffee. ACB is beautiful. White marble counter tops. Chic. Extremely comfortable and rich seating. The varied seating and spacious dining area is ideal for families with kids and a strollers, a group of friends, dates, and single folk doing business or just relaxing. When I made an order for a latte, it was almost cold, and then today I got the iced macchiato, and it was extremely strong and bitter. The food is amazing. I visited Asterisk for the first time this morning with a group of five other people, and it was a lovely place to chat and have a morning drink. While I had a fresh brewed iced tea (which was pretty good but not particularly special), others in my group were a bit more adventurous. If you check out the photos, you'll see two different lattes and avocado toast which were deemed excellent by my morning companions. This place definitely had a cool vibe with couches, traditional tables, and a bar (at which you could also order alcoholic beverages). I'd recommend getting there early on a Saturday if you have more than a couple people to grab a seat. read more
