Linda is awesome!! I have been going to Linda for a little over 6 months, and she is the best technician in the entire shop! Not only does she take excellent care of my nails, but she always gives excellent customer service. Every 3 weeks I get a gel manicure and eyebrow waxing, and I am never disappointed. Before I started going to Linda my nails were in bad shape, but now they always look amazing!! This place is terrible. I got a fill in done a week ago. Paid $50 for everything. Two nails broke within 3 days. I called to make an appointment to get It fixed. I was told it was free of charge. I get there. My nails get fixed and all of a sudden it's $11??!!!! How?!!!!! These people are crooks and they know it. I have never been compelled to write a review until the past two weeks when I have had experiences that were extremes on either end. This was honestly the worst mani/pedi i have EVER had. And I have had a LOT of mani/pedi's. I stopped here while passing through to return something to Lord & Taylor. I wish I had kept going. I came in here with my girlfriend who wanted her older nails removed and new ones put on. They used the spinning sanding tool and my girlfriend exclaimed it was too hot and hurting her, and they did not stop until she had to pull her hands away. After that, the lady proceeded to do it again even when asked to use a solution instead of the sanding tool. I considered getting a gentleman's manicure, but after what I witnessed, I crossed my name off of the list. I notified the owner that I did not wish to get a manicure anymore and she began to get mad and raise her voice to me. I then asked her to please be calmer and nicer and not to have an attitude to me. She then muddled under her breath, "Bitch!" I usually never leave a Yelp review as it can be detrimental to the reputation of a local business, but I do not wish for others to be treated this way and have decided to post this. I also noticed the woman took her glove off after the previous customer, turned it inside out, and placed it on her hands again to work on my girlfriends nails. We asked her to please use a new glove and she became aggravated with our request and finally complied. This nail salon was rude, unsanitary and not considerate of any simple customer requests. DO not use this salon. Take your business somewhere where they deserve it and treat customers with respect. Never once did we disrespect them, but their actions should be publicized. read more

My wife and daughters went and it was incredibly expensive. Additionally they were pretty rough with how they handled their hands and feet. I have sent my wife to some high end spas and for $47 for a pedicure they usually always get a way better bargain than this place. read more

I came here in the middle of a weekday, and there were no other patrons in the place. I got a gel manicure, and it was very rushed and sloppy. The lady hardly talked to me, and instead pointed and grunted when she wanted me to switch hands. This is the worst place I have ever been to. I went in to get a pedicure and the woman rushed, was sloppy and caused extreme pain to my feet. So much so, that it has been 3 days later and my toes are still sore. The woman cut off a giant deep piece of skin off my toe and there was so much blood that it got all over her gloves. I was limping after leaving the store and 2 days later it is now infected. She also caused tiny cuts in my other toes which she proceeded to get nail polish remover in every single one. My 13 year old daughter recently paid $15 of her own money to get her nails done with her best friend. It was her friend's birthday and they were having a nice afternoon together at the mall. At least it was nice until they stepped into Angel Nails. They were treated with suspicion and rudeness from the start. Their money (10s and 5s) ware even held to the light to see if it was fake! Then the nail job (painting only) was terrible. When my daughter complained, she was told "You can't expect me to be perfect?!?" The final straw came 3 days later when the polish started flaking off. Got acrylics done here for $29. The nails themselves look fine, but they hurt!! The lady who did them left a ton of acrylic stuff all over my skin on my fingers. It's unfortunate this place has bad reviews because I go here once a month to get a gel manicure by Jennie. Maybe it's because I only see Jennie and she is AMAZING! I have really thin, brittle nails and it's difficult to find nail technicians who know how to get the gel to stay on. Jennie does the best gel manicure I have ever had and I have been getting gel for 6 years. She is the only nail technician I can find that makes my manicure last for 3 full weeks, no joke! I've been trying to find a great nail salon for two years in fairfax and i FINALLY came this salon (recommended by a friend) and I absolutely loved it! i got a shellac manicure and french pedi and the service was great. This place was terrible! I didn't want to drive all the way to my usual nail place, so I decided to stop here since I was already at the mall. The nail tech was not friendly at all and did the worst job! I had to ask her to push back my cuticles...she wasn't going to do it. As soon as I entered the place a lady asked me "what can I help you?" I said do you wax here and she said yes everything. Asked me out loud what I wanted waxed and said underarms. So I signed in and sat down since no one told me what else to do. A lady comes into the salon and asks me again and I tell her so she says ok and points to the back. Lost, I just walk myself there And search myself. She finally comes in a hurry and tells my to lay down. She immediately starts to put wax on me carelessly. Then she tells me she can't take some hairs off and tries to tweeze one hair and she's she can't. So before I can even get up she walks out ready to charge. I stand there and notice that she left a lot of Hairs that were able to come off. What made me very angry was that I noticed I had a lot of wax on the ends of my hair ( my head). I stood there trying to take it off myself. She finally comes back asking me who is going to pay me or my boyfriend and I tell her I have wax on my hair. She doesn't apologize and just stands there until I grab a tissue and ask her to give my something to take the wax off. She gives me some oil and I take it off myself. Oh and on top of that I had on a black shirt and she was putting the used wax strips on my shirt. So I came out of the salon with hair and wax residue still under my armpits, my ends of my hair still sticky with wax and wax on my shirt. All that I managed to clean off myself while she was waiting for me at the register ready to charge. It was horrible!! I usually don't get upset with people but I was pretty upset that day. On top of that, she was asking if I wanted my eyebrows waxed! No thank you! Clearly, I just got them done somewhere else. read more

Wouldn't recommend this place. I went for a regular manicure for 15$. The lady at the counter pointed me to an old lady for the mani. The mani was Ok, although the old lady scraped my nail so hard that I could see scratches all over. When I was ready to pay, the old lady charged 35$ and I asked why was I charged 35$ for a regular mani, when I was told 15$ by the other lady. To my shock, the old lady said She did a gel mani and I asked for it. LIAR!!!!! The technician I had was awful. She raced through a $45 "Spa Pedicure" in 20 minutes and then kept pushing me to add services. I agreed to a regular manicure and she gave me the spa one and I had to pay for it. In the middle of said manicure, she left to do a brow wax. If I could give 0 stars I would, this place is atrocious. I got gel nails on a Wednesday, and on Sunday I noticed most of my nails were chipping. I went back on that same Sunday and asked them to redo it since I paid so much and after arguing with them for about 15 mins the lady finally agreed to do it. It's been about 24 hours later and one of my nails chipped again. These are supposed to last atleast a week and it barely lasts a day. Worse nail salon I have ever been to. My friend and I went here to get our nails done and it was a nightmare. The guy who did my nails had no idea what he was doing!!!! I chose to do shellac and when he was painting my nails, all of them looked different and had different layers! In the middle of it I told him I did not like it because he was not doing them properly. He told me it is suppose to look like this. Are you serious? I have gotten my nails done before and they never looked any close to what he was doing. By the time he got done it was 9:30 and my nails looked so bad. He asked me to pay and then left because they were closing when customers were still inside. The other lady who worked there offered to fix them up for me. I have been going to Angel Nails for about a year on and off, I usually have "Tiffany" do my nails, however today she was busy and they gave me someone else whose name is "Jessica". I told Jessica that I needed the Salon Pedicure which runs $45.00 and a fill and repair/gel nails which runs about $35 to 40. with tip I get out of there with a little over $100. The pedicure went fine and then we went to Jessica's station and again, discovered that she did not speak English, did not understand well, and so I pointed to my nail and told her that I wanted my nails to look just like that nail. My nails are mine, I have the gel on top and she proceeded to cut down and shape the nails so horribly that there was no way to repair the ridiculous job that she did. I told her to stop and "Tiffany" came over and then called her manager that she told me was watching everything and she pointed to cameras at the front entrance. She tells me that the manager is always watching. This really gave me the creeps. Seriously, why is this guy monitoring everything all the time? Anyway, Tiffany asks me to speak to the manager and he tells me that Jessica should have listened to me, that this is her error and that Tiffany will repair with the powder. Then he tells me that everything is on the house and that he does not want to lose me as a customer. Ok..I said, I doubt she will be able to fix this and I am not going to go through this "tip" thing again, that I had grown my nails out and that I did not want them to cut them down and put tips on. I was told by Tiffany that it was the only way. Ok, cutting them down, adding powder and my nails look like hell. With using the keyboard, cleaning house, laundry, yard work...they aren't going to last. I am told that if they don't last that I will need to come in every time ....Question...who in the hell has time to run to the nail salon when their substandard work breaks??? Not me! My husband stops by to pick me up and I show them their work and he says 'you have got to be kidding, are you serious"?? Until I got there, my nails were long, shaped well and needed a refill and one repair. Now they are short and stubby, I will say that Tiffany did her best, but Jessica does a crappy job and I would not recommend her to anyone. Now, while all this is going on, a woman who had her nails done asked to have her brows done. So, a woman that works there, wearing a turquoise and white dress takes her to the room and the woman comes out very angry stating that the woman did not know what she was doing and that she did not want her touching her again. So, ladies,,,,if you know whats good for you, DO NOT GO TO ANGEL NAILS....there are plenty of other nail salons in the area that are not as expensive, do good work, and are not being watched by the owner of the salon. If you do go, do not let "Jessica" touch you, she will not do a good job and you will have regret. Tiffany is fine, but, like the rest of the women working there, they are all vietnamese, speak little to no English. When I pointed out to the owner that the ability to communicate, to understand and be understood is not happening. I was told that "Jessica" has been in the USA for 5 years, and yet, does not speak English. Before anyone bitches at me about this issue, I am a card carrying Democrat, a liberal and I don't have an issue with immigration and naturalization. My problem is that many of the folks refuse to learn the English language, My mother and my mother in law were from Germany and Hungary respectively and when they immigrated to the US they learned English and could speak, read, understand and be understood. There is nothing wrong with wanting to be understood in a business environment. Finally, Tiffany was done, she asks me if I am happy, and I told her no, I was not happy and that I would not be returning, that I would give a review on yelp and that it was not going to be kind. I asked her for the name of the woman, and she wrote it down on a card. And so, here I am, writing a scathing review and very resentful that even after the "owner" told me that I would not have to pay anything, they handed me a bill for the pedicure. In the year that I have been going to Angel Nails, there hasn't been a time when I did not witness some customer raging at something that one of these women had done to them. I won't return to Angel Nails, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Frankly speaking, they are unprofessional, you cannot understand them and they certainly cannot understand you. I needed a fill and just moved back to the area, so I decided to try Angel Nails. It was empty and the lady took me right away. She was very nice, however, she's probably a bit too old to be doing nails. I had my right index finger nail repaired..and its visibly wider and shaped differently than the left nail. I could get past that, but she cut three of my fingers while smoothing the nail surface. Ouch. You should probably avoid this place, it's not worth it. read more

My first-time visit to Angel Nails was in fall 2009. I had just lost my job and the economy was on life support. It seemed like a good idea to keep up the appearance of my nails, just in case I was called for a job interview. Linda was the nail tech who did my nails at that time...and ever since... because she does a really good job (whether it's acrylic or gel) and she's kind and very accommodating. Customer service and personality alone do not guarantee a good outcome. But, in Linda's case, those attributes combined with a beautiful and lasting nail job have made me a very satisfied and loyal customer. read more

I stopped by the salon yesterday during my lunch break to remove my gel nails (both fingers and toes). I had to tell two technicians about 15 times what I wanted. I saw that another reviewer had the same problem. It was almost like they did not want to complete the service because it would not be worth their time. Even though there was just one other customer in the salon. They did talk to me about getting my eyebrows waxed. I told them if there was time then I would. The eyebrow waxing went okay. After that, the lady removed the gel polish and filed down the residue. She left my nails all jagged and rough. She did not take the time to smooth them down. I had to use my own emery board when I got back to work to smooth down my nails so that they would not catch on anything. I paid $20 for the gel polish removal (fingers and toes) and the eyebrow waxing. I do not recommend this place. read more

I'd give them no stars, but I guess you have to put at least one. I have been here twice and should have learned the first time. I stopped in last week because I was interested in getting my nails "shellaced". In care you're wondering what that is, it is a $40 manicure done with a special gel polish that is suppose to last 2 weeks if not more. My last shellac done at another salon actually lasted flawlessly for 3 weeks. At any rate, I stopped in this place, got my nails shallaced and 5 days later my manicure is total crap. The polish has lifted on 2 of my nails - something that shouldn't happen if the polish is applied and dried correctly. So basically I spent $40 for a manicure that didn't last. The worst part is I was in Fairfax for business so i can't even stop back in to make them fix it!! Oh and I will mention the first time i went to this place they totally messed up my nails because the lady insisted they weren't even. Well after cutting them against my wishes, my nails were so uneven - it looked so stupid! Argh - i am so mad at myself for giving them a second chance. My experience here yesterday (12/31/13) was less than enjoyable. For starters, my water was cold and when the technician rinsed my feet/legs at the end, the water was freezing. I told her and she didn't say or do anything about it. This salon charges $28 for a pedicure ($40 to get the mask), which does not include the pumice heel scrub that has been included in any other pedicure I've ever gotten anywhere else. This was $5 extra. I can get all of this done, including paraffin wax for cheaper at my favorite salon down the street. Unfortunately, they were busy that day, and I made the mistake of trying a new place. This salon also uses the razor, which should not be used because it cuts people. I prefer the "cheese grater," but they do not use these. She kept trying to tell me she would not cut me, but I was not interested. The pumice did a great job alone on my heels. Her massage was not good, very light and gentle; she might as well have not given one at all. She tried to offer me a manicure multiple times and other services. She didn't want to take no for an answer. Cold water and a cold fan to dry my polish (in the middle of winter) is not what I was expecting, so I doubt that I would be interested in getting other services here. I agree with other reviewers that you could probably do a better paint job yourself. This pedicure was not worth my $33, and I will not be back. read more
