I was getting a pedicure and for everyone who has gotten them that it is pretty basic....but Tracy gave me a pedicure that was truly incredible. My 94 year old mom and I have been going here for several months and we are never disappointed when we leave. Tracy, the owner, is a delight. She truly cares about each customer. Tracy and her team (Lee and Vee) do an amazing job on our nails. My mom has mobility issues and Vee, Lee, and Tracy always make sure she is comfortable and assist her in every way as she gets her powder dipped nail service. I went to Elegance Nails for maybe a decade. I posted a photo maybe 6-7 years ago on yelp, just for them. Nancy, the manager, always keeps a welcoming demeanor and welcomes returning and new customers. Lee also worked on my nails and toes for the majority of the time here. They are pretty traditional and don't usually cut corners (unless you like your nails round of course!) I wish it was not so out of the way now and I could visit every once in a while. As far as dinky little nails salons are concerned, I would have to say this is an awesome little nail/waxing salon. Definitely ditching the one I usually go to in Springfield for Elegance Nails. It may be smaller than most of it's competitors out there but they keep it clean, keep it friendly, and do their shit right. Not only right, but WELL. The foot massage I get with my pedicure here is amazing. There is no other salon around here that I've been to that rubs my feet right, except this place. Tina gave me a pedi today and helped my indecisive butt pick a color after I spent forever looking at them when I walked in. She was super sweet, worked hard to free me of nasty hang-nails, and made conversation...or attempted to but, I am one for sitting back with a magazine and relaxing, so that didn't go far. Speaking of relaxing, you'll love the massage chairs at this place, they all look new and fully functional. It was ok. I have been here twice. Both visits I was able to come right in. The Employees were friendly. This most recent time I had a gel manicure, It hasn't even been three days and a couple of nails are peeling off. There is no way this is going to last a week. For a $40 french gel manicure I usually get a solid 2, if not 3 weeks from other salons. Not sure what the deal is here, if it's the products or the techs but reading the reviews it seems like I am not the first one with this problem. If you do visit, bring cash to tip. When I moved back to the Northern VA area after living in Newport News (the land of the cheap hair, nails, etc.) for four years for college, I had the hardest time finding a nail salon to call "home". I actually just did a google search and Elegance Nails came up so I read the other Yelp review. Looked good, so I decided to go. Fantastic service, great quality work, and awesome prices. I was used to paying $12-15 for acrylic fills in Newport News, so the $17 at Elegance Nails took some getting used to, but it's a hell of a lot better than the $20+ you'll pay anywhere else. Got a pedicure and shellac manicure right before vacation. Cost was $58 + tip. The actual experience was not bad, although I was asked if I wanted an eyebrow wax. When I was finished I asked for the paper slippers (had come straight from work so I wasn't wearing flip flops), but the technician said my toes were dry. When I got home and took my shoes off the polish was ruined. My cuticles were also ruined- having been cut to shreds. It has been less than 2 weeks since my shellac is already chipping. Yes, it's small. Yes, it's in a semi-questionable looking strip mall. However, I received the best manicure at this location. I chose the Shellac manicure, which I've been getting for quite some time at many other locations, but this time was far superior. The nail tech was quick but extremely efficient. She was nice, asked questions about my day, and was overall very pleasant. Many times when getting the gel manicure, after I feel like I have to go through and kind of clean up my nails and nail beds to free them of the excess gel polish from the manicure. The nail tech was such a perfectionist, that when my manicure was over, it was literally PERFECT. I took pictures and sent them to SO many friends to share the news. I had found my perfect nail salon. My friend came with me, and her nails looked equally amazing. I love this place. This and another nail salon near my house are my top two in the area, and I've been to A LOT. 4.5 Stars Curtis shocked me when he told me he wanted to get a manicure. I've obviously trained him well. I'll let him review this one: Now I may not know much about manicures, but I know when I am in need of one. I had just broken my thumb nail moving boxes (the second one I broke this week) and my nails needed to be cleaned and trimmed. I was happy to find that the Elegance Nails was open until 8 pm on New Years Eve and I was taken right in. The nail technician was very pleasant and, though she did not engage in much conversation, she did compliment Jade. She was extremely professional and, in my opinion, very thorough. I have only ever had one other manicure before, but I thought she spent more time on me and did not rush through. She did a great job of cleaning up the broken nails and making them even and gave me a nice clear coat of polish, nice enough to be noticed, but subtle enough not to be. I thought the salon was very clean, sanitary and the music was very tasteful. I rather liked the place, but Jade did have a few comments about what she noticed. She thought that the staff was polite, and not aggressive in adding services, particularly eye brow waxing (Yelp inside joke). They had a limited selection of lighter nail polishes, but reds, plum, and pink colors were plentiful. She also felt the place was sparse and bare, in the end, she was quite satisfied with my "manly-cure". Overall, I say four and a half stars. They are pretty old school here...they still use the razor on heels and don't offer mani and pedicure menus like deluxe pedicure scrubs with wax and more...you get the basic and that's it...guess I'm spoiled by Dallas salons where we have big screens, get offered free wine and mixed drinks in some places and have 5 different options just for your pedicure. This place was also a little dirty...there were no tables to sit your drink or magazine, so i put mine on their break station right next to my pedi station and i noticed containers of food unrefridgerated...ew. My manicure and pedicure looked fine but there is nothing special going on over at Elegance Nails...welcome back to the no frills 90's nail salon, they wouldn't be competitive back home in Texas. read more

They accept walk-ins which was great since me and my friend went to two other places where you needed an appointment just to get a manicure. I showed my nail technician a picture of what I wanted and she was spot on. Before even starting the manicure, I said I wanted acrylics and she kept on insisting my nails were too pretty for acrylics. But I wanted long claws, so she let me get them. They had a huge range on different colors from OPI which I prefer over other brands. She even let me test some colors before I finalized my decision. I live by Dunn Loring Metro station and go out to this salon because after tons of visits to other salons, Elegance was worth the price and distance. I mainly go for acrylic nails, and the shape and quality are perfect every time. The nails all look even, my cuticles don't end up with scabs on them (ew), and they clean up underneath the nail. I usually ask for rounded nails because it looks more natural on my tiny hands, and the shape looks perfect every time. They don't have samples of what the gel polish colors look like, which I'm bummed about, but the selection of regular polish is decent. If you want a quick and dirty and cheap set of nails, go to one of the salons near Merrifield. If you want well-done and are willing to pay more, go to Elegance. read more

I have been going to Elegance Nails for as long as I have lived in the City of Fairfax (approximately 14 years). I have recommended this salon to my friends. One of my closest friends goes to Lee and really likes the way she does her manicures and pedicures. I see Nancy for my nails and absolutely love her! She is gentle and really listens to what I want. I am always very happy with the results. Different ladies have done my pedicures and I have always been satisfied. Everyone in the salon is friendly and customer service oriented. The pedicure chairs are super comfortable and the chair massages are great. Tools are sanitized and staff are careful with my feet and nails, which I appreciate. Never coming here again. I came here over a year ago after getting off of work a bit early one evening to get a pedicure and had a pretty good experience from what i remember. I decided to come here again today because it is the closest nail salon to my job & again I had the afternoon off. I came in, was told to pick a color (gel manicure) and to sit at a station that was empty. They were empty and not busy, only one other customer was there. The employee in the station next to me was nice enough & asked how I was and if I wanted water. The employee that ended up coming over to help me barely said two words to me and would not look at me the entire time she was doing my nails. At one point the other employee from the empty station came and stood next to me (literally three inches away from me) and just stood there for a long time not saying anything. I get that sometimes other workers like to look at the nails or colors that other people are getting but she was uncomfortably close to me and it was unnecessary as her station was already right beside ours. She (the other employee not mine) eventually asked me if I was in school, I quickly answered no mostly because it was too late to try to salvage a conversation & I was already uncomfortable and unhappy and just wanted to get out of here. Still the woman actually working on my nails said nothing, did not look at me at all, and acted very displeased for no reason. To top it off my polish does not even fully cover my nails with the edges on more than one finger remaining bare. Also even after cleaning and filing after the polish dried I still left with hardened polish underneath my fingernails & dust caked onto my skin. No matter how bad a service, i always tip something, although i made up in my mind that it was not going to be an above average tip due to the poor customer service. The person at the desk ran my card and when i asked about adding tip she asked me if i had "cash for her" talking about the one that worked on my nails. I said no and she told me they do not take tips on cards to which i asked "at all?" And she said no. Well, i don't have cash so there's no possible way for her to get a tip. She then told me that i could "stop by anytime". I am not making an extra trip to bring back a cash tip for poor customer service, also the woman that did my nails did not even introduce herself or tell me her name so i wouldn't know who to leave it for. I guess it worked out that i didn't have to pay a tip because it was physically impossible (even though the card machine they used does have a tip option). I have gone here twice to have my gel nails filled and also a gel manicure. The first time was very good and the gel manicure lasted 3 weeks before it started to chip. I believe the technician who did my nails was the owner. The second time was a week ago. I had a different technician. In less than a week, I have lost the polish off of 7 nails and 4 of the gel artificial nails that were filled have cracked and broken. My nails look horrible! My teenage daughter also had a gel manicure that has chipped and broken already. I will not be going here again. Save your money! read more

I've been going here for years and I either have an excellent experience or terrible. I usually have acrylics, so I always get a fill when I go in. The other day, I was waiting for awhile (because I walked in). I picked out a color and it wasn't the normal technician doing acrylics, it was also a different gel led light machine (not the normal OPI they use). She didn't shape my nails very well, they were rigged and not smooth. I actually cut myself this evening, with my nail. The polish itself was bubbly. I just went to Elegance Nails for a pedicure. They weren't very busy so I was seen right away and had a variety of colors to choose from. The salon was clean and tidy and the workers were nice enough. My pedicure was fine but seemed a bit rushed. I sat down after the woman next to me, and my pedicure was done while she was still getting her massage. The woman doing my pedicure got nail polish on my skin yet didnt bother wiping it off and when she was done she just walked away without saying a word.
