Stopped in for a quick pedicure. They were kind and did a great job. Would definitely go back.

This used to be my favorite spot for years! But my last visits keep getting worse. I have nothing against guys but the ones I've gotten lately are just not good. I've been treated roughly too many times. I much prefer a pampered feeling over rushed and harsh handling. A pedi should not hurt! And my last pedi was the last. The guy didn't bother getting the full nail covered and sloshed color on my skin in other places without cleaning it off. If I want a messy job I'll do it at home. Off to search for my new salon. 2019. Looks like the owners may have gone back to the basics and that's a good thing. It's quieter with fewer technicians now. I'm sure you will get a good mani/pedi but taking your chances on walk ins so recommend calling ahead. At least for now. read more

I was able to schedule a pedicure late in the day. While I have only been here a few times before, I have always had great service. My experience was as before: Excellent. Though I chose the lower cost, basic pedicure, I felt truly pampered. The lady who worked on me and everyone else there were polite, friendly and professional. So I wanted to try this place because of their great reviews and they seemed a little cheaper than the last place I went to. Well they were not cheaper at all in fact I'm thinking I was overcharged. I called back after I left and was told no that was the price for my nails. Hmm the sign said gel for 33, I got acrylic with a crappy airbrush job. The nails are decent but I do not like airbrush and if I had known it was going to be done like that I would have requested white tips, so that's on me. Also have acrylic on my cuticles so I'm assuming those nails are going to break or pop off. I like square nails and was not asked how I wanted them so they are rounded off corners. So long story short be very vocal if you go here. Also do not expect them to chat with you. Most of the talk was between the 3 working in a foreign language and also on the phone while he was doing my nails. I thought I would like them and did when I first left but I will not be going back. I would go to this place and not feel pretty when i left. they would talk about me in a different language and asked my friend and i "how much longer are you staying" when we were just drying our nails for a good 5 minutes. The sweetest workers I've ever met, family owned and very reasonably priced. I got an acrylic full set for 35 (even with a design!!). Short staff just a man and a woman but it's usually not to busy. I often do walk-ins and 95% of the time they can take me right away. I'm always very pleased with my nails and experience after leaving Angel :) read more

My friend and I went here for a nice relaxing mani pedi together and it was the most stressful and infuriating salon experiences ever. I have never had such rude and horrible service and for them still have the audacity to charge us was ludicrous! Here's a list of what went wrong: -they wouldn't seat us together for our pedicures (not a huge deal) -I had to wait 20 minutes while my friend got her pedicure started while my feet sat in ice cold water. (A little annoying) -the man doing my feet was rude and kept telling me what was wrong with my feet and even cursing saying "why are you messing around with this shit when you're feet are just gonna be messed up. Don't worry everyone's feet are messed up." -as he was filing my nails he filed one toenail completely off!!! (here comes the infuriation mode) so he went to get acrylic gel and started putting it on my toe to make a new nail. Now I will have to maintain this on that nail and it will never be the same -he was rough with the tool (looked like a cheese grater) and when I asked him if they use the razor or have paraffin he said its "not recommended" and "wouldn't work" for me. He said that because I have high arches my calluses would just always be there and I should go buy special shoes and buy some of their special gel that they sold for softer feet. -he rushed the massage part of my pedicure because he had other clients coming in -I chose not to get manicure after that but my friend who wanted a "fill" on her pink and whites suddenly had all of her nails chopped off before they even asked her because they thought she said she wanted a "full set" even though she had a full set already It sucks that such a great location has such terrible service but there are plenty of other places. When we called, the person on the phone was incredibly rude and hung up after stating "No one wants to work on a Sunday." This is after they clearly took a Sunday reservation. Ridiculous. read more

I went here with my mother in law and: - They literally painted the tops of my toes. The lady had no glasses on the first time she painted them, and after I showed her the paint all over my toes she put glasses on and tried to fix them with polish remover and a brush. When that turned out bad she did repaint them and they turned out better. - The man who painted my mother in laws toes told her that she needed to get surgery on her bunion. He then said" you want your nails to be pretty and you have a bunion, then what's the point." Apparently according to other reviews he has told people how bad their feet are before. - The sign outside said 24.99 for a pedicure. When I went to pay they said it was $30 because I chose O.PI. I came in to get an acrylic nail fill, and was overcharged $10 for my service ($25 total for a fill). When I asked why it was such a high charge when my nails were in good condition, they stated that I had broken nails that needed fixing. I did not have any nails broken, and they were only 2 weeks post previous fill. They also claimed that they did gel nail polish on my fingers. I can assure that this is regular nail polish because it is already chipped and I got it done two days ago. They were very rude when I asked for a refund of that overcharge, and DID NOT give me a refund and said it was my fault for paying the overage. I called again today to resolve the matter, and when I explained my situation, she hung up on me. They used to be a great place to get your nails done, I do not know what happened. I started going here after moving back to town and a friend recommended them. Before I moved out of Crystal Lake, I had another place I went to but seeing as I moved away for almost 2 years, I decided to try some place new. The first time I went there, they did a great job. I called in advance to see what they charge for the particular service that I was looking for & when I went to pay, that was the price I paid. Two weeks later I come back in for the same service, but am charged a couple dollar more, which at the time was no big deal. The third time I was there I was charge almost $10 more and $5 of that charge was to trim my nails - something I thought was part of the service. Maybe I was wrong? I continued to go there every two weeks for a couple months. I had the same exact service done every time I was there, yet one visit I would pay $23, the next $30, the next $25. It made no sense. The pricing is so inconsistent, as if every tech charges a different price. I asked them once how much a color change was because I had a certain color for an event coming, but wanted to change it a few days later. I was told $10. I went in to have my color changed & was charged $20. Quite the difference. Everyone who works there is very friendly, but the professionalism lacks. Even when someone came in to ask if they wanted to participate in the sidewalk sale coming up since all the other local businesses were, the owner treated the lady horrible & acted as if she wasn't the owner at all & told her the owner doesn't come in so they can't participate. I love this nail salon. They have the best service. Benson and Cindy are the owners and are some of the best nail technitions I have ever met. Tina is also amazing. Those are the 3 I recommend. The deluxe pedicures with the parifin wax and hot stones are worth the $40. I wouldn't take the previous review and hold it against the spa. If you have an issue address it and they will fix it with no problem at all. Definitely a better choice than the nail salon around the corner: queen nails. Now their service is crap. My sister had called to make reservations for 6 pedicures, a couple weeks ahead of time. When we arrived at noon on Sunday, no one was there, despite the hours on the door and website stating they are open at 11am on Sundays. When we called, we were told, "no one wants to work on Sundays." And then hung up on when we tried to explain we called and made reservations and drove from Chicago and WI to come there. Worst nail salon in Crystal Lake. I went to Kim for a mani and pedi. After my mani I asked her to repaint them because the polish looked chunky. She acted very annoyed and started cutting my cuticles. She was so aggressive that she cut me. The redone polish has so many bubbles in it. I've never seen polish do that before. But I was too nervous to say anything because of the way she acted. Also my pedicure looks like it needs to be redone after only 3 days. I went to get a pedicure and while getting it done the manager who was doing my toe nails decided to make conversation with me about my tattoo. He made a rude comment about my tattoo while getting my pedicure. I was uncomfortable the rest of the time that I was there. I had never gone to this place before but needed my nails done last minute so I thought I'd check this place out. I went in for a no chip manicure. When she finished it looked quite good however after 4 days my nails had already started chipping A LOT. Normally when I get a no chip manicure it lasts for 2 weeks minimum. When I went in to let them no the nails had chipped after 4 days they were very rude and claimed that it how all no chip manicures are. manicure, one of the staff members was yelling a customer that was paying by credit card. First of all, she was not at fault, the staff member ringing her up charger her the wrong amount. In response, the manager or owner told her that if she was paying cash there wouldn't be a problem. He went on telling her that they company has to pay 78 cents for her transaction and how it was an inconvenience to the company on how she was paying. Personally I thought this was extremely rude! Then as I was getting my manicure done, the guy that was doing my nails cut by cuticle so bad that I was left bleeding for at least 20 minutes! Knowing that he was not getting a tip from me he went on to do my nails in a complete rush and they looked pathetic! I was expecting for the staff to give me a discount for the inconvenience or provide me with the best manicure I have ever had. My nails look terrible and I was not given a discount! Please there are many nail salons in the area, try any other one except this one! The service is beyond terrible and the quality goes hand in hand! read more
