These are some of the most talented, caring people. The wait can be long, but it's worth it.

Took our dog in and they got him in as soon as they could. Created an invoice with the expected charges that we had to pay up front. They did his exam, a couple of x-rays, kept him for two nights (with more x-rays), provided fluids while he was there. They sent him home with a prescription and all the documentation I needed, all for the same GREAT price. Staff is friendly and competent, even while being EXTREMELY busy.

Unfortunately the actual vet never came out to talk to us only the receptionist and a vet tech. Obviously we had to leave her there overnight. When we went back to pick her up the next night we still had to wait an hour for the time they told us to be there. They gave us the instructions and discharge papers. We brought our puppy back the very next morning. We learned that they didn't start the surgery immediately and left her sedated with her eye out for another 7 hours. Less than 12 hours later. As there was discharge from the surgery and we wanted to confirm if it was normal or abnormal. It was abnormal according to the vet tech and they said they could get her back in at 1pm to make sure it wasn't ruptured. We picked her up between 7-8pm that same evening because her surgery kept getting pushed and she sat with minimal care. We took her to another emergency vet because they wouldn't give us an answer on when they would perform the surgery to fix or remove her eye. Where we took her we actually talked to the vet and had a good plan. While the receptionists we did deal with were nice and respectful. I think this place is severely under staff for the volume of animals they see and the actual vets need to have a little better bedside manner and actually come and talk to owner of the pets. Ending result - our puppy lost its eye. And after discussions with the vet that performed that eye removal and our own regular vet. They should have removed the eye immediately. There was damage to the optic nerve and muscles which lead to the eye being turned outward with no function. And after the first surgery that West Texas Emergency Vet performed the eye started to become abscess and that was the reason for the abnormal discharge. Bottom line if you can avoid going to this Emergency Vet I would.

But recently, my cats have been diagnosed with roundworms because I rescued a stray recently, and she ended up having worms. I can't get one of my cats to take the medicine and surprisingly I called the vet to see if they could help me and they just gave me the same advice to crush up the pills and put it in water and put it in a syringe and give it to him. Well, I tried to let the girl answer the phone. No I did all of that and I also tried crashing it up and putting it in tuna oil, and I tried putting it in his favorite food. He's not the friendliest cat so he gets very traumatized. Whenever you wrap him in a blanket try to force something down his throat. He will literally bite you and claw you. But that's just his nature, we knew this about him when we rescued him as a little kitten and we just let him be the cat that he wants to be. He doesn't bother us unless we try to pick him up or try to give him any medicine apparently. I called A-to-Z just to have them help me and I was turned down. Roundworms don't just go away on their own. They're fatal and I'm trying to save my animals. I'm very disappointed with this Vet.

From an 'exotic' owner's point of view:…read more We had to take an unfortunate trip to this clinic when our poor 5 and half-year-old Dumbo Rat took a turn for the worse late at night and our normal vet clinic had closed. We had someone there who was able to look her over and give us the terrible news. She did end up having to be put down due to a respiratory failure, but the staff was very sympathetic with us from start to finish and let us grieve for a good bit and gave us a small blanket to wrap her in with a cardboard box.

Worse experience ever! The veterinarian is nice and I have no complaints against him. My complaint…read moreis against his "support staff". I do not know her name, but she is the person you see before the veterinarian...the medical assistant? She is completely worthless. This is supposed to be an "emergency clinic", so you would think when presented with an emergency, life or death situation, the staff would move a little quicker! However, that is NOT the case. I believe this woman could have cared less when I came in. She was unwilling to do anything when I brought my dog in and I had to tell her, demand, that she do something or get the veterinarian. Do you know how much time that wasted?! My dog ended up dying there. Working in the medical field, whether with animals or humans, you should have more compassion and do everything you can to save ones life, and to put your patients and their loved ones at ease. If you can't say you did everything in your power to do so, you are in the wrong field!

It really works, and seeing his results, my whole family wants to send their dogs to puppy school as well. Bianca and Eric are amazing. Now for grooming, honestly, I don't take Romeo there anymore. He's a standard poodle, and for a full groom there I paid almost $100. Then I compared to another groomer when I went to San Antonio (these prices apply to all locations). Anyway, I wanted just Romeo's feet, face, and sanitary areas done. Petsmart said it would count as a full grooming (once again $90-$100 due to his breed and size). Meanwhile, I also called and took him to this other location called the Pink Poodle in San Antonio who special in poodle grooming. I had waaaaay better results than with Petsmart and for only $60 with a cute bandana! Another thing about Petsmart grooming, is anytime I take him, his haircut always looks a little funky, and I just wait for him to grow more hair again since it grows so fast. That wasn't the case with this last groomer. So to conclude, amazing training! Meh groomers.
