Was craving some pasta and wanted more home style than commercial cooking. Have not been to Angela's Italian Restaurant so decided to try this place. Very cozy and walls adorned with infamous Italian performers. I had to order a favorite dish, the carbonara. A different recipe of the carbonara - ground chicken and bits of bacon and cheese. I appreciate this not being oily and not overly salted. A good version of the carbonara if you want to try Angela's recipe. Also, we tried the rigatoni in olive oil and garlic - simple and delicious. The garlic bread is buttered up on a small baked garlic YUMM. We shared a large scoop of spumoni. It was mostly chocolate but still delish. Angela personally serves up your meal - nice lady and seems like a lot of locals are regulars here. Will be visiting again soon to try more of Angela's dishes. read more

Food was awful. The worst sandwich I've ever had. Couldn't eat it. Waitressing is by Angela the owner She is the most unsmiling, seems to hate her job waitress who maybe has been in the restaurant business too long or maybe not long enough by her attitude. Two other tables next to us felt the same The ambience is cute. Very small place don't go if you want your food quickly and don't go if you want your food nice and hot. Expensive for what you get. The only thing we could give a positive to was her sauce, sort of. Save yourself your time and energy and money go someplace that the food is delicious, the plastic cups don't look like they've had them for over 30 years and the attitude of the waitress/Owner is happy to have you there. I will say that I personally have mixed reviews about Angela's. My parents love Angela's and love Angela, the owner and come here maybe every other week. I tend to tag along but I'm not the biggest fan of their service. I won't lie, I order the rigatoni with their house sauce pretty much every time we go and it's not bad. It's not the greatest pasta in the world, but it's a nice pasta to enjoy. My brothers and parents also seem to enjoy their food as well. My dad gets the spaghetti & meatballs, my brothers get their ravioli and my mom gets their linguini. No complaints at all for the food, it's definitely something to enjoy! As for their service, it's a hit or miss. I always hope and pray when we go in, there isn't more than 2 parties because if there is, we'd be waiting for our order to be taken for a good 20 minutes and then another 30 for us to receive our food. I'm trying to be considerate of Angela's because it is completely family-run. It is primarily ran by the owner, Angela and I believe sometimes her daughter is there to help out and her kids. Because of this, I try to look the other way, but the service tends to be a bit slow if there are more than two parties in the restaurant. If my parents ask if I want to join them for dinner at Angela's, I have to consider that I'll probably be there for 3 hours. Don't get me wrong, the restaurant is super cute with the decor and especially for the small space they have, they make use of every bit to have as many tables as they can. I just wish the service was a bit better. I guess my parents don't mind as they like to take their time when dining in. read more

My husband and I have the typical evening conversations about where we should go out for dinner. Probably at least once a week, either my husband or myself are in the mood for Angela's. He loves their Chicken Parmesan and I enjoy the pastas & I don't think we've ever gone without a pepperoni pizza to share and/or take home. Angela is always there to prep and serve, along with her daughter or other family members. It's definitely a family-run business. The decor and music are welcoming and the food is great. If it's a peak meal time, she may be busy running around to take care of everyone but when it's not as busy, she also takes extra time to get to know her customers, and definitely the regulars. That's worth as much to us as the food, which is fairly priced. Much more personable than a restaurant chain. Try her place out. Go sit and relax. No need for GrubHub or DoorDash. Menus were dirty and table was sticky. We wiped it down before we ate; the lights are probably dim to hide how dirty the restaurant is. Food is overpriced for the quality. I finally tried Angela's Italian Kitchen and was very pleased! First, we all agreed that it was the best pizza we've had in the area. Very tasty crust, looks like it might be coated with a bit of oil or butter, not sure but it's very good. And has that hint of saltiness I like. The cheese was rich and good quality, not that stringy, plastic-y kind some places use. And again, a nice amount of salt. And they sure don't skimp on the cheese! The pizza is thick, almost like deep dish and next time I'd like to try thin crust if they do that. (I'm a Chicago thin-crust gal). The toppings were cooked well (I'm not a fan of undercooked veggie toppings). The sausage was delicious. Just a really tasty and satisfying experience. I can normally eat half a pizza, but these pieces were so big and thick I could only eat two. You know how really good food tastes good on the last bite, not just on the first. Well, that's what I was thinking when I finished my pizza. Also got the Rigatoni with Ricotta Cheese, which was very good. We were so full from our pizza, I ate the RRC the next day. Ordered 2 meatballs to go with it, which had great taste and moisture. (No dense, dry meatballs here). The Minestrone soup was a nice surprise in that it was slightly spicy (much appreciated) and not your average bland side soup. Felt safe ordering pick up under the current conditions. The cook was masked and the woman who helped us gave us a tiny bottle of hand sanitizer, which was cool. I'm excited to go back for more pizza and pasta! read more

My usual go-to Italian restaurant is Pozetto's right down the street, but it was 4:30, I hadn't eaten all day and I didn't want to wait until they opened at 5:00 p.m. so I placed an order on GrubHub for Angela's as I've heard good things. I arrived, the restaurant was empty besides a small group of teens eating and hanging out in the dining room and a man eating at a single table by the kitchen. I stood at the register for 4 minutes while a woman was in the kitchen with her back towards me and another worker seeing me standing there twice without saying anything to the woman. A couple more minutes passed before the man at the table said a name (I'm assuming the woman's) without her hearing him. I stood there a total of ten minutes before the woman came out of the kitchen, her hands full of orders and walking past me without saying a word. That's fine: I get you may have alot of pick up orders, but at least acknowledge your customer and tell them you'll be right with them. Withoit her asking, I told her I was picking up an on-line order for my name and she said nothing. I continued standing at the counter while she walked back to the kitchen. I assumed she was going to get my order. Instead, she came back with other orders, placed them on the counter and asked, "Grub Hub"? I said yes, she walked over to her computer, studied it for a minute and then walked to the back again. Finally, after 20 minutes I was handed my food. I said thank you; she said nothing. The customer service on this particular day was AWFUL. I hope it was just an off day. I was so hungry that as soon as I arrive back to my car, I opened the box to grab a piece of cheese bread to munch on during the drive home; sadly all the cheese was stuck to the box top and already hard. I arrived home in 5 minutes. The beef raviloi was lukewarm with no flavor. I warmed it in the microwave, added garlic salt and pepper and it was just okay. I REALLY wanted to enjoy this restaurant, but unfortunately I'll wait the extra 30 minutes for Pozetto's to open. read more

My Husband & I were at CVS and noticed Angela's Italian Rest Was open for business. We were Hungary and had heard good things about this Family owned business. Everything was wonderful! My Mother went in for dinner to go, she was greeted by a woman who was not too friendly or helpful. This person took her order of penne a la carte, my mom asked to add sausage to the order with the understanding it came with meatballs. The woman rang my mom up for $25 and change for ONE to-go container of penne. My Mother returned home confused at the cost and the lack of food in her bag. Sausage was mixed into the penne along with some meatballs. I called the restaurant with an hour left before closing and the line just rang and rang to get a clear explanation of the cost breakdown considering it didn't match up to the cost of the items on their menu. Disappointing first time visit here. We were not greeted immediately and waited around for menus and someone to take our drink order. We were the only table in the room. I believe the owner waited on us and she seemed almost annoyed that we were there. Very unenthusiastic. I ordered the chicken Alfredo which was gritty and almost tart; I'm not sure if it was supposed to be like that but I was looking for more of a cream based white sauce pasta and that was not it. My husband had a very bland chicken Parmesan and was unimpressed. I really wanted to like this place and support the very few small business restaurants we have in our community; unfortunately we won't be retuning. Service terrible, 1plate the food was Cold and the Pescatore was nice and hot but whatever fish was used was dry, tough and rubbery and tasted freezer burnt. Bread was cold also, I think it was for the table next to us which asked for bread 5 times and never got it. They served cold Cabernet and said they had no room to store it except in the refrigerator. The waitress also said it was impossible to serve cold food and would not take it back to heat it up! Yes things do go wrong in a restaurants as in other businesses but it is how you handle the situation that makes the difference. read more
