This place is extremely overpriced for the amount of food and quality of food. I've been to Italian ranging from inexpensive to very fancy. The first time I came here I thought it was just okay. The bread is dry the butter is good. The short rib ravioli is too al dente for me. The owners son helped us and was nice. The tiramisu wasn't my favorite but I don't care for it in general. The second time I came here my mother called ahead of time to see if we could be in the main dining room. The owners son said yes and then we got there and Kathy the owner was extremely rude. She said no we don't have anything available you just called an hour ago you will need to sit here. It was a small room where the bar is. We almost just left right then and there. We decided to stay because a friend was meeting us. We all ordered the Bistecca and it was bland the meat was poor quality like a $5 cut of meat the potatoes under seasoned and the green beans undercooked. The worst part is that it's $30. I could get a pretty great meal at a nicer place for $30. Their berry martini is $22 which for a semi nice place is a bit crazy. Their wine selection is affordable though. Food was excellent, ambiance was beautiful and timeless. It took awhile for Matthew to get to us because he had the whole room we were in to serve. We were told that there was gluten free fare, but I assumed when offering bread to snack on as the first course, there would be an offering for those who are gluten free.. guess not. I picked the salmon which was excellent and my hubby had the clams. He enjoyed both the bread and pasta dish but looked to me for the price that the clams were very small. Just my opinion. Came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The Walker house is registered as a historical place so it was cool to dine inside. Make sure to make a reservation. They were short staffed so be patient and sip your wine! We ordered the branzino but I felt the sauce was a bit too strong. The pork medallions were great and the sauce there was delicious. My family and I had a great lunch here today. The location inside the vintage Walker House is beautiful. The family that owns and operates it are the nicest people and the food is fantastic. We came here on a Friday at 1:45 pm and we were the only table dining. The vibe is really elegant and nice, as they played soft classical music in the back and with barely any chattering from anyone. The server was really nice, introducing and recommending dishes to us. I don't know how authentic their Italian dishes are, but here are some dishes that stood out to me: Orrechiette (9.5/10): a bit on the oily side, but it tastes really good with the Italian sausage and broccolini. Ravioli (9/10): I didn't know you can put beef inside ravioli until today. I always thought ravioli is filled with cheese. Starter bread (9.7/10): It is crunchy and airy at the same time. It tastes exceptionally good with the salted butter they provide. It is also free and refillable Red beets salad (8.5/10): I actually don't know the real name. I just remember the red beets taste really good. Daily special seafood (9/10): Also a bit on the oily side but their ingredients are fresh. I really love their shrimps. Tiramisu (6/10): Not the best tiramisu I had because it is more liquid. The server says they never add rum to it. We went for lunch. The menu serves for lunch and dinner and they do offer specials too. My Di Mare salad was very generous with the sauteed seafood of clams and mussels in their shells, calamari and shrimp. My husband remarked on how delicious and fresh the vegetables were on his pollo parmesan plate, but he was expecting more breading on the chicken ( being used to American style Chicken Parm). Service was gracious and timely. The atmosphere of the historic Walker House is elegant. The decor is classic and quiet. I don't know why some people have said it looks rundown! The restaurant owner told us she's never experienced any ghost sightings, but did show us a peephole under the beautiful staircase. It seems a previous elderly resident visited and told a story of how a little door at the side of the stairs accessed a compartment. This is where she and her brother would hide, to view incoming guests, through a hole they drilled into the wall! Unfortunately the San Dimas Historical Museum, on the second floor, was closed when we had lunch, but it might be worth a look next time. read more

Dined here for Valentine's Day. I had frequented the West Covina location and always had delicious food and great service. They have moved to the Walker House in San Dimas. I have dined at the Walker House before Vincenzo's moved in. Again delicious food from previous restaurant. We started with the calamari fritti. It was very good. Crispy, light, and tender. Perfect. The focaccia bread was very good. They served it with butter and a spicy vinegar relish. Different but good. I ordered the tagliolini maremonte. Shrimp, scallop and linguine in mushroom garlic butter sauce. It was not good at all. The color was a little off. It looked like Asian stir fried noodles -- which I like, but not when I'm expecting to taste Italian food. I could not eat much more than a few bites. My husband ordered the lasagne. He said it was good but nothing special. It did not have traditional red sauce and it was served with spinach on top. I had a little taste and felt it was too compact and dry. Drinks - we just ordered tonic water with lime. The waitress made a suggestion to use the lime concentrate because they do not have fresh lime or lemon! Although the drink she had prepared was delicious -- how do they have lemon in their sole dish? Not fresh lemon I guess. Dessert was a layered chocolate cake. It was cold and damp -- like it has been premade and in the refrigerator. Also no mention of coffee or a nice port to accompany. The service was nice. Our server was really sweet and accommodating. Ambiance was ok. The walker house is a beautiful location and should be treated as such. The tables would have been elevated if white table linens would have been used and fresh flowers to enhance the Valentine's Day theme of romance. The lighting was a bit bright for evening dining. Also there was music, but something happened between dinner and dessert where the music stopped. It felt cold and awkward since we shared a dining room with other couples. There was a sense of pressure on the staff and the diners. At least in my opinion. It felt like lunch hour rather than a romantic Valentine's Day evening. I was happy to leave and release the awkwardness I felt. We accidentally left our to go boxes on the table, but then, I do not think we would have finished our dinners at home. We had such a great experience at Vincenzo's Terrazza! Our server, Julian, was the sweetest! He's super friendly and personable, and he gave us a fun rundown of all the specials. We ordered the margherita pizza, spaghetti al vongole, and gnocchi special, all delicious, with amazing texture and flavor. Also, fun bonus: there's a little museum upstairs you can check out. Great conversation starter and something unique you don't usually get at a restaurant. Highly recommend for a date night. Great food and wonderful service that really makes the night. Just to let you know. We were sat in a beautiful dining room, by the window. It was very nice. It wasn't too crowded for New Year's Eve however there were two seatings. We chose the 5:30 vs the 7:30. The food was just okay. I had a seafood pasta in a butter sauce. Unfortunately it was bland. I didn't want to add too much salt as it wasn't just salt that was needed. Maybe some lemon and other herbs. The scallops were super chewy. No really tender. And again not too much flavor other than the fishy-ness. Shrimp was fine. Not over cooked and had a little more flavor. My husband had the lasagna. That had more flavor and probably would have preferred that more. It was ina. Pink sauce not a red sauce but was delicious. The frocassia bread that was served was nice and hot and crispy on the outside with soft and fluffy texture inside. Unfortunately, they have a set menu for NYE. I was hoping to try their risotto. We have been accepting of below-par italian food for quite some time since it is so difficult to find delicious and authentic homemade italian food and pasta without making it yourself at home. I am at the very least, completely FLABBERGHASTED by the gnocchi that my mom ordered. It was like pillows in your mouth and if you know homemade gnocchi, you would know immediately by the shape that this was without a doubt homemade. Our server, Katherine was wonderful. The owner, Kathy, was wonderful as well. She is doing such a beautiful job continuing the legacy of her beloved Vincenzo. Boy, was the food delicious! I finally found my favorite salad, prosciutto & burrata. My friends had the seafood special. WHAT A HIDDEN GEM!!!! I was there for a work meeting and was so pretty happy with the food and very impressed with the venue! There were different private rooms for group dining. Our room had a round table and was good for 10 people, it had the windows for the street view and a vintage fireplace decor. The lunch menu had a good variety of options, I got my all-time favorite seafood pasta. It had a very generous portion of seafood, and pasta cooked just right, and the sauce was perfect too, not overpowering the seafood. The fresh-baked bread came with the house's special garlic pesto spread, which was interesting! A hint of garlic and not buttery. We were enjoying the company and the food, but no one saved room for dessert. But I would definitely come back with friends to try the dinner menu and dessert. This review reflects an experience I had about a year ago, which I've been meaning to share but hadn't gotten around to until now. I'm giving this establishment 1 stars primarily because of the customer service. While the food is excellent and full of flavor, the interaction we had upon arrival left a lasting negative impression. My husband, our 4-year-old, and I stopped by on a weekend without a reservation, and we were turned away by an older woman with short hair who appeared to be the manager. I'm a local in the city and active in blogs and community groups and unfortunately the rude hostess or manager really did it for me and my family. I've also heard several people I met encounter the same experience. The restaurant wasn't busy at the time--far from it--and when I asked if we could place a takeout order instead, she curtly said no, explaining that they don't do takeout on weekends. I wish there had been some transparency about this policy posted on the door or online. It was particularly disappointing because it was my daughter's birthday, and we had originally planned to dine elsewhere but couldn't make it due to a freeway closure caused by an accident. Since we live just a block away from Vincenzo's, we thought it would be a nice alternative. Unfortunately, the unfriendly tone and dismissive attitude we encountered left a bad taste in our mouths, and we haven't returned since. The restaraunt before this which was Luca Bella was far more busier and always accommodating with excellent service. Not to mention Luca Bella was more delicious. We tend to dine out every weekend. This restaurant was likely the worst experience we have had in five years. Service was slower than slow. I asked for their truffle pizza. The server said we should have called as they were not serving it as truffles were too expensive. Why would I call? I ordered a Ceasar salad. Came without dressing. They also charged me $11.95 though the menu price was $10.95. The server neglected to tell us the specials, one of which I would have had. Had the lasagna. Less than half the size of other restaurants. Gee, for the hundred dollars I dropped I could have gone to In n' Out had five times and had a better meal. Will never return it read more

I've been to Vincenzo's new location about three times with my family. My parents raved up Vincenzo's original Covina location and were so excited to have them start up again in San Dimas. Upon entering the restaurant on my first visit with my parents, the hostess was a bit rude and she quickly asked if we had reservations without greeting us. My mom answered kindly that we did and the hostess claimed that we were late with a huge attitude. I was shocked with her treatment and when the hostess doublechecked her reservation book, she noticed that read the wrong name and realized we were not late. She didn't even apologize for claiming we were late. So that was the first strike. Once we were seated in the dining room, we noticed that it wasn't even busy so I don't even know why she was upset about us being "late" in the first place when it was completely empty. Our server was very kind and knew all the specials for the day and we definitely appreciated his service after experiencing the wack hostess. The only issue was that it took so long for my family of 5 to get our food. We probably spent almost 2 1/2 to 3 hours in the restaurant and it wasn't even busy. That was strike two. I won't lie, the food is very good, but the service just isn't it. Especially with the hostess who has such a bad attitude. I've come back a few times with my family since they really enjoy the food, but we also had to deal with the rude hostess again and the long wait for the food which isn't very pleasing. I just moved back home from grad school and I guess my family continued to go to Vincenzo's while I was gone, but they just complained again that the hostess was so rude to them that they officially decided to never return. And that's strike 3. From other reviews, it seems that the hostess is the owner's mom. For everyone's sake, please come get your mother!!! She is bringing down your business with the poor customer service. Believe it or not, you can have amazing food, but if your staff lacks basic customer service skills and empathy, you will start to lose customers and eventually your business! I love this place. It's an Italian & seafood restaurant inside the Walker house in San Dimas, which is an old mansion that has been restored so I would say the ambience is classy, yet cozy. As far as food goes, my family loves everything they try but I can only review the sole because that's all I ever order. I think about ordering some of the other entrees every time I come here but I love sole fish and the sauce they cook it in is similar to a piccata sauce and I just have to have it every time I come. My grandson favors the stuffed pork chop and one of my sons says the octopus is really good and my other son usually goes with the special of the day, usually seafood or steak with pasta. Of course my 10-year-old granddaughter only ever wants spaghetti with or without meatballs. The service is about the same as most busy restaurants as far as speed goes but they are very friendly and aim to please. When we go on a night that's not very busy, the wait staff is very happy to carry on a conversation with their customers or let you hand them your camera to take a picture of your party. The owner also will walk around sometimes and talk to the customers at their table. I look forward to my next visit and can't imagine anyone not liking this place. read more
