The white sauce was creamy and full-bodied without being runny, coating each strand evenly. The red sauce struck a lovely balance between acidity and sweetness -- bright but not sharp. The stuffed mushrooms were especially juicy and flavorful, releasing a savory broth with every bite. Tiramisu leaned slightly heavier on the liqueur, which I personally enjoyed -- bold, fragrant, and not overly sweet. It's delicious, I always order a Chicago style pizza when I go there for an appetizer. It's huge and delicious. Let me tell you, it's so flavorful and loaded with toppings. When I took my first bite of it, it was like the first time a kissed a girl.....amazing and forever stamped into my memory. The stuffed shells are so good too. They are cheesy and it's a huge portion. Not like the ones I eat at the beach, hard and salty. The chicken Parmesan is insane here. So much flavor and you get spaghetti with it. I can never finish it when I get it. Also, the bread they bring out to tables is so toasty and delicious. The waiter also came by and showed me their wine list. He asked me if I wanted some. When I saw the checkered tablecloths on Yelp pictures, my expectation was it was a very casual spot, which I'm used to in NY with red & white tablecloths. This is the fourth year in a row we've had family come in from out of town. On Tuesday, June 23 like usually on our first night we go to Eddies because they want the Detroit Pizza. For three years it was good last Tuesday the 23rd it was terrible. I don't know what the cook put in the crust, but it was terrible. The top was OK but had to throw the bottom out. I don't know if you had a new chef back there or he wanted to experiment but tell him to experiment on the staff not onto the people we want what we usually get. Old-school charm from the checkered tablecloths and wall art, the ambiance is what you'd expect from a throwback place from the 60's or 70's. The food is outstanding and the choices plentiful. The staff's willingness to accommodate with substitutions is rare. I want to call out two folks in particular...Sarah was my server and she had the absolute best personality, was quick and attentive, and knew the menu inside and out. She's a gem. And Michael, the general manager, was constantly flying around from table to table, checking on customers, delivering delicious plates of food, making friendly conversation. He even sat down at my table and chatted with me for a couple minutes about my trip, new openings of the restaurant in my home state of Arizona, etc. Again--the way it was done back in the day. I was treating one of my friends by taking her to Eddie's for a relaxing meal. We were a bit early for dinner, but neither of us had eaten all day. After taking our order, the waiter brought us one small piece of bread with a bowl of olive oil. We carefully divided up the small piece of bread (it looked a bit pitiful in the bread basket) and I requested more. The waiter informed me that we would have to pay if we wanted more bread. I later requested a menu and it clearly stated that bread is complimentary with entre. For a bill around $60, I don't think people should have to pay /beg for bread!!! This place is really nice. The server was very pleasant to talk to, and all her recommendations were on point. The complementary bread was good but the herb oil that comes with is the way to go. It tastes light and refreshing. A prefect way to start the meal. The Calabrian Fries were very good. Think bacon loaded waffle fries. The Garlic puffs were also a great surprise. They are quite dense and are served swimming in oil, but they give enough roasted garlic for every bite. As a garlic lover I can say that I was pleased. The pizza was not my favorite. The maple syrup on the Christmas special was very sweet and overpowered all other flavors, however I could still demolish two pies. The Pesce Bianco was probably my favorite. It was a recommendation from a friend and had I not known I would have glossed over it. They give you an entire filet of whitefish and it goes perfectly well with their creamy pasta. Wife wanted Italian tonight so we took a little road trip to dine at Eddie's tonight. I really like the vibe of the place, it feels family like if you can understand. Staff are young and attentive, service was great and the food was really good. The bruschetta appetizer was on point just enough of a bite with the garlic and the drizzle of balsamic reduction was spot on. My son and i ordered the Detroit style motor city pizza and as much as my son can eat we bright home leftovers. Our two girls got the fettuccine Alfredo and wife ordered the stuffed shells. Fantastic experience! I used to eat here as a kid when it was a Straw Hat Pizza. Now it's a real restaurant! We had a table for eight on the Mother's Day Saturday. Excellent service and everybody had something different, and all were pleased with their selections. I had the pizza and the salad. What a charming restaurant!! They service is outstanding!! We were greeted by the hostess and a manager as we were seated. We went on a Saturday night before Christmas. We went at 6 fearing a crowd, but we were seated immediately. Usually it's packed in here. People must have been shopping for last minute gifts. lol. Lucky for us! It was a large portion and he loved every bit of it! I ordered the minestrone soup which was pure heaven. I also got the Greek salad with lemon vinaigrette dressing.
