I had an allergic reaction from a facial cream. My face was swollen for 2 days. It was covered with tiny bumps and some tiny blisters filled with pus. It was gross and scary. I was very skeptical to reach out to Dr. Dao after seeing some bad reviews. I'm so grateful that I was able to get an appointment with her. She was so sweet and gentle. Words can't express how grateful I am to have found Angeline. I popped a pimple which later turned into an infection and then had an allergic reaction with neosporin. All this happened within 24 hours. The moment I realized it wasn't getting any better, I immediately called Angelines office and she was willing to see me right away! Especially during this pandemic, it's really difficult to meet with a dermatologist. Anyway, after seeing her, that's when she revealed the allergic reaction I had with neosporin and it caused the infection to spread. Horrible customer service and they definitely don't treat people with respect and courtesy. I tried to schedule an appointment for my son skin conditions with this office today thinking it was a good dermatologist doctor to go to. After providing them my insurance card info, they told me to find out on my own whether my policy would cover the visitation cost. When I asked them if they could find out for me, they told me they don't have the time because they are too busy! And when I asked for her name, they told me they don't need my business and hang up. I went to Angeline Dao for help with my adult acne that I developed after giving birth to my daughter this past November. Upon entering the office I immediately noticed how clean and modern the place was and I felt very comfortable in the doctors abilities as it seemed she was very successful in her business since she could afford such a nice office. I waited about 15 minutes before a woman came to get me out of the waiting room and led me into another room to be seen. To my surprise this woman began examining me and asking me what I had come to them for help with...turns out the woman was Dr. Dao (never introduced herself to me) I explained that I had developed the acne and needed help getting rid of it as she simultaneously begin applying some tinted moisturizer to my face. Dr. Dao then proceeded to talk about the benefits of her makeup line and why it would be good for my skin to use her makeup rather than my current brand. She also thought it was appropriate to tell me how I could really use some Restalin injections between my eye brows (I am 25 years old!) I was then quickly rushed out of the room almost as soon as the consultation began and brought up to the front desk where a young woman promptly asked me for $350 for Dr. Dao's entire makeup line and an additional $25 for my co-pay! Needless to say I left without any of Dr. Dao's makeup and went the following day to another dermatologist who prescribed me Epiduo for my acne which cleared it up in a matter of weeks. I have been in search for a dermatogist who can prescribe something for the eczema I have on the back of my neck. I went to my general practioner, but she only wrote me a prescription hydrocortisone to reduce the itching. That was 5 years ago and the itching and redness only got worse and bigger. My friend referred me to Dr. Dao as she has been going to her for years. First of all, I loved how I was able to schedule an appointment the following week...not at the end of the month because they are sooo busy. Second, the office is REAL nice! I guess she just relocated to this office. The front desk girls were very courteous and had me fill out my papers quickly. I only had to wait in the lobby for about 10 minutes. Matter in fact, Dr. Dao's daughter is one of the girls, so its nice that its a family run business. Third, Dr. Dao is really sweet and very professional. She was kick back and very interested in all the "problem" spots on my body. She gave me samples for the back of my neck and another area on my body and they have worked! She also wrote out prescriptions for me to fill for the future. I am itch and spot free ;) Im so happy I found a dermatogolist that I can go to now that knows how to diagnose and treat my skin. I have heard stories that some dermalologists try real hard to "sell" their skincare products. I don't know if Dr. Dao has a line because she never mentioned anything to me. Sort of nice that there is no pressure sales at a Drs office. If you are looking for a specialist, look no further! Just an FYI, parking is inside a parking garage where there is an automatic arm gate to get in. I think it was $2 /hour and there is no validation. You can park outside the gate and walk to her office. Really its not a big deal since you are in and out within an hour. read more

How did I get so lucky? I just picked her off my contracted provider list for Anthem Blue Cross and I think I hit a jackpot. Very nice older woman that listens and seems to really know her stuff. I needed to have a cyst removed from my chest and she was so informative. I was concerned about scarring and so was she. She recommended that we treat the cyst first to see if we can avoid cutting. Injected with cortisone and I will see her again in 2 weeks to decide our next move. Happy that she didn't just start cuttingI will be seeing her again so I will update after next appointment. read more

It seems like her main goal is to get you to buy her skincare products she made. She prescribed me two medications for my skin and mentioned that if the insurance rejected paying for them because they were so expensive, come back and purchase her products. Well, it turns out one of the creams she prescribed was $600 and the other was $500! Hahaha. Talk about affordable (and no, I didn't return to buy any of her creams). My mom also went to this dermatologist at the same time I went. She bought the Dr.'s product to treat her facial rashes and the product didn't do anything to help her face. Even after my mom continued to use it for 3-4 months, the rashes remained. I would not recommend this whacko nor would I recommend her quack skincare line. read more

Went today! She is so nice. I have been having skin problems lately. Contrary to what people are saying she did not push product. She said she has an oil I might like because I mentioned dry skin. She then told me I don't need it and not to buy it unless I really want to! She gave me alternative cheaper options and all the stuff she prescribed is covered by my insurance. Do not use Dr Dao. While it's easy to get distracted by her beautiful office, your interests and health are not her priority. She only wants your money. Once the consultation began, she asked me If I was in school and it seemed like she was being friendly and trying to get to know her new patient. This wasn't the case. As soon as I told her I had just graduated from college, she quickly began trying to rent out her daughter's condo to me. This dermatologist had turned into a real estate agent. After I dismissed her real estate attempts, she only visually diagnosed my issue. She reluctantly tells me that she can do something to temporarily relieve any pain. I tell her I want her to do it so she does it begrudgingly. While she's doing the mini procedure, she actually changes her diagnosis of the issue because I had forced her to do more than just look at it. My father had used Dr Dao a couple times and so we set up my first appointment at the same time as his follow up. Before she even wrote my prescription, she wrote her daughter's condo address for me so I can look at the area and consider renting the condo. Then she quickly began selling my dad various products that he didn't actually need and are actually her own line of products. He generously bought one of the five things she pushed on him. It may seem exaggerated to say that Dr Dao scams her customers but I have a hard time describing her practices any other way. Her patients are definitely not the priority and it seems like she is solely motivated by money whether through her products, real estate or any other means. I was referred to Dr Dao through a mutual friend and thought that might provide me with a better experience. I can only imagine what other patients have endured. read more

Great Doctor, Horrible billing experience. I went into the office and they said that they cover my insurance. After paying the copay and receive my treatment, I went home happy. I receive a bill 2 month later saying that I'm due the remaining full bill because my insurance didn't cover it. They should have told me this before they started my treatment. Horrible service. I had come to see Dr. Dao for my acne and eczema, and I was so glad her practice was within my insurance network at the time. She was always so kind to me every visit. She took the time to thoroughly listen to my concerns, to explain my conditions to me, and to answer any questions I had. I really like how she prescribed both natural and prescription treatments for me. I was really concerned about using irritating, harsh prescriptions, and I really appreciate her listening to and consideration of this when she was prescribing me treatments. She also always has really cool stories to tell me every time I came in for a visit. I also want to thank her office staff as well! The two gentlemen at the front desk are always so kind and patient with me whenever I had any questions, either in office or over the phone. They make billing and scheduling go smoothly! These people were sending a bill to the wrong address after my son went to them. I never knew about this bill. I lived in Oklahoma and this was Huntington Beach, Ca. They sent it to collections w/out my knowledge of even owing anything. I called when I saw it on my credit report and they said if I paid it now, they' get it reported as an error. ANGEL LIED!!!! that's who I spoke to on the phone. She now tells me too bad basically. IM APPAULED and they have ruined my credit for something I didn't even know I owed. I have been going to different dermatologist for years and years with only minimal results. I have been seen by Dr. Angeline Dao for 6 weeks now and my skin looks fabulous! I'm so satisfied and grateful I finally found someone who can help me with my acne flare ups! I purchased her glycolic facial wash, glycolic lotion and the vitamin serum. She gave me samples of her base make up which I love and will continue to use. I have been an Este Lauder user for tens of years and her base is great. You just need to shake it up well each time but no big deal for a product that helps instead of hurts the skin. read more

Great and knowledgeable Doctor. I would recommend her but make sure you obtain the CPT billing codes before every visit so that you know which codes your Insurance may or may not cover. A little advice for the billing department... They should be more sensitive and less dismissive to people calling about their bill. I called regarding my bill and within seconds, I got an annoyed tone from the office manager as if she thought I was picking a fight. Although patients are responsible for knowledge of their insurance they should not rudely argue but take the opportunity to educate patients about their plans in a professional way. Most patients are only given generic and basic insurance info by their employers or even on the website. The only way they would gain more info is to actually call and speak with person at the ins company. Also, I think it would be a good idea if they talk to patients about what their possible pay would be before the doctor performs the procedure, like most medical offices. Even my dentist and vet goes over the payment before every procedure. read more

Be careful with Marie in billing dept. I will never go here again because of her. I went to see the doctor January 2014 and they had a problem billing my PPO insurance. No other doctors had a problem receiving payment from my insurance company except this office. I paid my copayment during the visit day and they billed me a year later for the copayment, saying they never received it. I had to find my statement and prove to them that I paid it on my credit card. Thank goodness I have the credit card statement online from a year ago to prove that it was paid. I don't trust them. They also sent me a bill for the remaining that my insurance did not pay. This is illegal because their office has a contract with my insurance that covers what is allowed. After I told Marie that, she acknowledged and took the balance off. Always notify your insurance company before you pay this office anything.... And always keep your payment receipts. read more

I set up an appointment with Dr. Dao so she can help me with my acne problem. At my appointment, I felt like she didn't really listen to my concerns. I tried to express my concerns, but she kept cutting me off and rushing me. She didn't give me a prescription, which previous dermatologists always had. Instead she coerced me into buying aha 20 rejuvenating lotion, vitamin blend of a c and e, and CoverBlend multi-function concealer. All of these products, by the way, can be easily obtained online without having to visit a dermatologist. She also wanted me to get a cleanser, but I didn't want to since the three products I got were already over $100. When you are done with the consultation, she takes you to the front desk and grabs a little piece of paper that has these products on them and marks off the ones she recommends to you. This makes me think that she recommends the same products to every person, regardless of their condition. I don't recommend this place to anyone! read more

These negative reviews are ridiculous! I have been going to dr.dao for 20 years, she is not like that at all. She does not push her products. However, let me tell you, her glycolic rejuvenating lotion is a lotion I have been using for at least 10 years and it is amazing. She always gives me samples, and has removed 2 skin cancers with no scaring. I had moved out of the huntington beach area to san clemente and tried 3 different dermatologists out here but could not find one I liked as well and feel she is worth the drive. She is very friendly and truly cares about her patients. If she mentioned a condo, i'm sure she was trying to be helpful not desperate as the review depicts her to be. I saw Dr Dao last April for a recurring problem that she was able to help me with. I have been seeing Dr Dao for years off and on. Her billing dept sent my bill to an old address, then with no phone call to me sent it to a collection agency. The collection agency sent their notice to the wrong address as well, which ended up hitting my credit without any knowledge that a BILL even existed. Never had an issue with Dr Dao until now. Watch out for her billing dept they are incompetent, not a good way to do business.Good luck Dr Dao. I won't go back to her and will not refer her to anyone either. read more
